Yes it’s strange regarding the bars, the raspberry bar seems to have no impact while the caramel one causes a slight rise, however today the rise was much higher. It was what it was, no 2 days are the same so I just go with it. Today has seen slightly higher numbers than normal all day so maybe that’s the reason.B: cheese on toast made with the 90 second bread. I dropped it on the floor as I took it out of the grill but 5 second rule applied and shoved it quickly onto my plate. Amazed it landed cheese side up.
L: 1/2 pack rollitos. 4 seedy crackers with cream cheese ( I’m also getting addicted to these @shelley262) and a peanut butter Carb Killer bar
D: chicken and asparagus traybake thing. @DCUKMod I think this was from the link you posted - 25 best traybakes. Very good and asparagus was on special offer so even better. Choc chia pud to follow.
@ziggy_w you mention ‘tartar’ quite often - is it tartar sauce? Sort of sharp mayo with capers in? Or something totally different.
@jayney27 I find that some flavours of the low carb bars affect me and others don’t evennif they have the same carb values. I had a white chocolate Carb Killer bar recently which sent my bg sky high, yet other flavours had no effect. Odd.

Hi @DJC3,
Tartar actually refers to steak tartare -- sorry about the confusion. In Germany, we often eat raw ground meat, it just needs to be very fresh (similar to sushi). Strange countries, strange habits I guess.
Hi @DJC3,
It is really surprising that your 90-second bread didn't land with the cheese side on the floor. I am never this lucky.
How are you? Are you doing a bit better?

I remember in my student days when I worked in restaurants to keep myself a lady requested a steak tartare. You would pick up the ingredients from the kitchen and blend together in the dining room in front of the customer. Having mixed, seasoned and presented to perfection the lady announced "I want it well done". Resisting the temptation to tell her "That's called a burger madam" I kept a straight face, powered up the lamp (steak Diane, deviled kidneys, crepe suzette etc were all the rage then ) and cooked the tartare in front of her. Head waiter thought I'd taken leave of my senses. I also resisted the temptation to flambe it but madam was happy with her burger.

Very funny.
This reminds me of the time my father and his girlfriend visited in the U.S. We went out to eat and at the end of the meal I left 5 dollars as a tip on the table. My father's girlfriend proceeded to very slyly move her hand towards the note, intended to take and pocket it.
Ah that makes a bit more sense now! I was thinking a mayo like sauce with mayo!!! Ive never been brave enough for raw meat, I should think you need to be spot on with the seasoning do you?
Yes thank you, today especially feeling a lot better - not just because of cheese side up accident, although that did make me very happy, but fbg in 5s for the first time in months and average bg is in the 5s today, again first time since July when everything started to go pear shaped for no apparent reason.
Shame the sort of fish pie didn’t work, sounds like it should have been nice.
I did wonder at you watching the Apprentice as you’re always up so early. You missed the full cringe- fest of loud opinionated big heads. Addictive tv.

Sounds like an absolutely perfect day, wonderful end to the week and amazing start to the weekendOn the way home after a great day. Phone call early afternoon to say I’d been successful with a very large bid for work then a lovely afternoon and early evening in London with @Debandez after her photo shoot.
Walked in the sun - T-shirt weather- along the Regent canal from Haggerston to Islington stopping for coffee along the way. Then dinner at Five Guys before walking to Euston for coffee and cream at Caffè Nero and then dropped @Debandez at station.
Dinner was bunless bacon cheeseburger with lettuce tomato and onion with mayonnaise, (OMAD day).
