Walked 1.5 miles to the PO depot to pick up a parcel, rather than driving, good exercise I thought, but it started hammering it down by the time I came out so got completely drenched on the way home.
B: smoked salmon, scrambled egg, 1/2 avocado
L: Pot of M&S prawn and Orkney crab cocktail ( which is delicious and only 2g carb for the whole pot) 1/2 avocado.
Late dinner today so MAS of pack of pork scratchings
Today is middle daughter’s birthday - she’s the one still living at home, and luckily is eating low carb too. She was working til 8pm so late birthday tea of her choice: roast lamb, celeriac dauphinoise and cavolo nero. I made her a lemon drizzle birthday cake ( and added a few candles on top - not 28 of them)
@ziggy_w I’m glad you feel better after a good night’s sleep
@shelley262 I love egg custard, Ive not done any desserts in my IP yet ( but have sent off for some IP yoghurt pots which were on special offer on Amazon, looking forward to trying that) where did you get the recipe?
It is in a jar so I don't have the nutritional values. My fitness says it is 13g total carbs, dietry fibre 28g(?)is it super low carb? I use Lidl which is quite low (8.7g carbs/100g)
Thanks for tip re Dutch cocoa the one I found on Amazon is very low carb 1.8 per 100gIt is in a jar so I don't have the nutritional values. My fitness says it is 13g total carbs, dietry fibre 28g(?)
The amount you would use for a mug of chocolate is pretty negligible (I think). Dutch refers to the extraction process, it is supposed to be superior to the usual stuff.
Yes, that's the one I will get next time in about 8 years when the jar runs out!I found on Amazon is very low carb 1.8 per 100g
How long did you cook the egg custards for in the little pots? I’ve just ordered some of them as planning on yoghurt this week but like ideaof small egg custards too! I meant to say used some of the vanilla extract youkindly gave me in the custards. I love the custards and so easy to make.
Mine is Peruvian 100% raw Cacao powder https://www.sevenhillswholefoods.com/organic-cacao-powder. I have seen Dutch mentioned in many places but before this I just used to melt callebaut in the almond/soya milk

Just spotted this one carbs seem to be much lower than others I’ve seen - think 1.8 per 100g if I’m reading label right. Maybe chocolate egg custards ?
Monk fruit is from my diet shop. Brand is Lakanto. Golden Classic is the one I use most. Their pretendy maple syrup is good too.

Recipe for the 9 min IP creme brulee

Inulin makes a very real topping - and you get the real creme brulee crack with it.
@DJC3 What have I missed with the vanilla extract - is there a special LC one? I adore vanilla
All you IPers @DCUKMod @DJC3 @ianpspurs @shelley262 @maglil55 @Brunneria (hope I haven’t missed anyone), this pic came up on my Facebook feed.

Does seem high and the Dutch process one seems too good to be true low. I only use 10 gms in a big mug of hot chocolate and no spikes yet. Anyone actually drunk the Dutch process one? Thanks, it looks impressive, but 19.5g carbs/100g is much higher than the Lidl brand. I wonder why?
I’ve ordered it and I’m happy to experiment when it arrives! Due on Tuesday will let you know.Does seem high and the Dutch process one seems too good to be true low. I only use 10 gms in a big mug of hot chocolate and no spikes yet. Anyone actually drunk the Dutch process one?
I must admit, I have stopped accumulating recipe books these days. There are so many food bloggers and sites out there for every sort of cooking method and way of eating, I just consult Dr Google, the link into CopyMeThat. My CopyMeThat account is a real mish-mash, so I make sure I tag recipes really well or it becomes a car crash!
