What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast - coffee with cream and truvia

Lunch - mixed leaf salad with prosciutto, soft goats cheese,a small chopped fig and pine nuts with olive oil and lime juice; more hazelnut chocolate muffin with Halo Top vanilla ice cream; redcurrant & raspberry tea

Dinner was going to be fish pie, but didn't feel up to making it, so instead had thick cut crispy back bacon with a parmesan and linseed & nut mix crisp, and mashed avocado with chopped basil, garlic (some of my favourite time saver go-tos are Cooks Ingredients ready prepared herbs etc), parmesan, and pine nuts with avocado oil and lime juice; another helping of my rhubarb with clotted cream; cinnamon tea with a piece of Lindt 85% choc for afters, and another piece at some point during the afternoon...

And not forgetting the water...

Hello all,

First day back at work. It was great to see my colleagues after the break.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol. A DD keto roll with mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and half an avocado. Some leftover soup.

Lunch: Nothing.

Snack on my way home: Two squares of 85% chocolate.

Dinner: A DD keto roll with mayonnaise, gouda and beef salami. Tuna salad with mayonnaise and celery. Some more soup.

Hi all, late posting as I have been for my pre holiday pamper, nicely chilled and relaxed now.
Due to a change of plans work tomorrow was cancelled today, I am now officially on holiday, yay
Coffee with cream on waking
B sliced roast beef wrapped in slices of masaddam cheese
L mixed salad leaves, cucumber, tomato, cold sausages and mayo, remainder of my cauli soup
Almond milk Cappuccino and phd bar when I got in from work
D fried egg, mushrooms and bacon

Evening everyone.
Some nice menus here today, @Kingmidas I like the idea of using your modified carbonara sauce with steak.

First breakfast: a leftover DD English muffin with almond butter and tea with almond milk. I woke up really early for me (5:30, not early by @Goonergal ‘s standard I know) and was really hungry.
Second breakfast: around 10am with my daughter before she went to work, scrambled egg, avocado and smoked salmon. Coffee and cream.
L: Poached salmon with salad of leaves, avocado, walnuts and olives. IP custard pot with 4 raspberries. @shelley262 this was really firm textured after overnight in the fridge, I might cook it a bit less next time, maybe 3 mins. It was still lovely mind.
D: After yoga, couldn’t be bothered cooking so had soup which was actually leftover gravy/ sauce from yesterday’s brisket. Still really nice. 1 slice of almond bread and cream cheese. 1 CCB with coffee afterwards.

@ianpspurs your Michaelmas fair sounds like a really nice tradition. I was just noticing today how the Michaelmas daisies in my garden have gone a bit rampant.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: left over roast lamb and mixed veggies followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: peach chia pudding and a black coffee.
Dinner: chicken chasseur with cauliflower, broccoli and carrot and swede mash followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

I got a bit behind with posting again..

Lots of mineral water

Sunday:
Breakfast: almond milk coffee
No lunch
Dinner: roast lamb, butter fried sprouts with shallots, cauliflower mash.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::arghh:

As it is time for the centuries old Michaelmas Fair in our local town I finally had to concede it was autumn. This meant I trimmed hedges and cleared the ditch - very exciting. What that did do was keep me busy and take my mind off a disappointing fbg. Doesn't mean the lesson will sink in:arghh:
Breakfast: Tea
Docky (very local dialect) : Soya and cream latte (https://www.cam.ac.uk/museums-and-collections/collaborative-projects/my-museum-favourite/docky-bag) Neither lunch nor elevenses hereabouts
Lunch : Salad with Mackerel in olive oil and avocado
Mid Afternoon: Mango sugar free hokey cokey cola
Evening meal: Leftover cottage pie (celeriac topping); nibbled some turkey and piece of cheddar;Tea
Fair time starts the countdown to Christmas in this area - legend has it it is the time to make your mincemeat
I always thought Michaelmas was end of September. Flows nicely after start of school year, harvest celebrations, prior to Halloween, Guy Fawkes night, Advent then Christmas.

Yes, Michaelmas is end of September but the fair is/has for 400 years been held for 3 days from the 2nd Monday in October. I think it was to allow the harvest to end . Personally, very uneasy about Halloween.

Hmmm that does sound like it has possibilities, think I’ll try it later. I don’t have Dutch cocoa though - I think @ianpspurs mentioned it recently too - is it super low carb? I use Lidl which is quite low (8.7g carbs/100g)
Well the Droste cacao has arrived and feel a bit cheated as box lists carbs as different to on the site
@ianpspurs you were right it was too good to be true. It’s lower than many but Lidl keeps the low carb crown!
Droste is 11.1g of carbs per 100g.
As it’s not cheap and more than Lidl’s Cocoa feel a trip to Lidl would be a good idea soon!

Hi all what a wonderful day weather wise managed to get out into garden and get stuff done.
Breakfast mushroom, egg and bacon
Lunch olive oil hummus with celery, tomato and LC seeded crispbreads
Dinner chilli on a bed of buttered mushrooms followed by raspberry clafoutis with yoghurt
@jayney27 have a wonderful holiday
@Goonergal hope you’re okay? Missed you

Hi all. Playing catch up today. Sunday’s lack of sleep caught up with me yesterday evening - literally thought I was going to fall asleep walking home after Pilates. So quick drink of water when I got home and straight to bed. Much better sleep last night.

@shelley262 glad you got the dentist out of the way and is it really time for your HbA1c? Doesn’t seem 5 minutes since the last one.

@Robbity your dinner yesterday sounds delicious.

@jayney27 have a fantastic holiday.

@ziggy_w hope your work doesn’t get as busy as it was before the holiday.

Getting back on topic, have eaten way too much the past couple of days.

Yesterday’s lunch was M&S Serrano ham and manchego rollitos with a bag of their pork crackling followed up by some clotted cream and almonds. Dinner was 2 Waitrose Cumberland sausages and 2 rashers bacon with almond butter and cream for dessert.

Today lunch was smoked salmon and cream cheese and 30g almonds. Dinner was the largest mutton leg steak you’ve ever seen and way too much almond butter and cream and 3 hotel chocolat 100% drops.

Editing to say thanks @shelley262 am fine - just been a bit of a whirl.

Breakfast - wholemeal toast, butter and marmite

Lunch - paté and celery ... sounds a bit odd but quite nice to fill the celery up and use as a scoop. Chocolate chia pudding, coconut cream and blueberries

Snacking on walnuts

Dinner - steak, broccoli and carbonara sauce (home made by daughter who has hers with pasta - just bacon, onion, mushrooms, garlic and chicken stock with soft cheese to thicken it)

Halo Top - new flavour (candy bar) very nice, like snickers (or marathon depending on your age ) and SF jelly
I thought the new Halo Top tasted a bit nutella like. I know it's peanuts in there but it reminded me of hazelnuts. It's all a bit weird as I'm not a fan of peanuts but I do love that new halo top (having said that I love most of them).

Yes I thought so too! I just like ice cream given the choice I'd have Cornish vanilla but I'll take any of the Halo Tops for dessert. Or a jelly and cream. The dessert landscape is not as barren as I thought it would be!

Best thing I ate today was my first hotel Chocolat 100 pc button. They arrived yesterday after 3 weeks wait. Other than that a couple of coffees, pork chop, a couple of rollitos and olives for dinner. I also had a go at a mug of hot chocolate using Dutch cocoa, sweetener, vanilla essence, hot water and double cream. Not perfect but it has possibilities.
I'll be picking up my 100% buttons passing through Paddington (and my 85% batons and my 100% batons)

Evening all

Breakfast - Hi-lo bread with butter
Lunch - Pate with salad and olives. Two squares of 85% chocolate.
Dinner - Chicken in white wine sauce with carrots and broccoli. Blueberry and raspberry Clafoutis with double cream

Big Erythritol and Stevia purchase today. Must be baking loads to get through so much:happy:
