What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B: Spicey Sausages & Fried Egg, Black Coffee
L: Large Fresh Prawns (Langostina) bought in the market cooked in butter, evoo and garlic, with a small salad and crusty bread (had to mop up the sauce )
D: Wasn't going to have much, but found a nice Posh Tapas bar on our evening stroll and ended up having some beers and 2 Tapa....Pork Tenderloin topped with Foie Gras in a sweet sauce with Raisins and Goats Cheese with Ham served on Apple rounds again with a sweetish sauce. Should have avoided the sauce as the spikes put me out of my comfort zone.

Fasted today.

Coffee and green tea.

D cheese and Spring onion omelette with salad and a leftover rib.

I'm wondering if the rest of this leftover meat has carbs added in a rub or something. I guess I'll know tomorrow...!

B: Berries & cream
L: Prawns & salad
D (will be): Chicken thigh fillets with a mustard sauce, cheesy courgettes, cauliflower; small nectarine

B skipped

L tuna egg salad niscoise

D bacon eggs, tea, half chunk choc

B: 1 slice Genius gluten-free fruit loaf with peanut butter and sliced kiwi fruit (delicious, but 13g of carbs per slice and WAY too moreish! I think I'm going to have to give the rest of the loaf to the birds. :()
L: Turkey and Primula cheese wrapped in romaine lettuce - yummy, fresh-tasting and crunchy
D: Fish and (5) chips

Hmmmn, won't be trying that again for a while. The fish was gorgeous, but the 9.1 reading at 2 hrs pp wasn't!!! Serves me right, though - I should have stopped eating it at least 10 minutes before I did, but it was just tooooooooo good!
I certainly didn't deserve the FBS I got this morning of only 5.3... :)

Same old brekkie Good Green Stuff, Clean Lean Protein, chia, flax, vit C lots of water:)

When we go to the seaside, fish n chips on the beach is part of the tradition, except now, I skip the chips and just get a nice bit of fish and really enjoy it - batter and all

It's not like it happens very often and if we've been good the rest of the time, then we should be able to have a guilt-free treat! X

B: a slice of www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/dark-chocolate-cake with cream :wacky:
L: piggy rarebit in a cafe, on 2 slices of wonderful granary. not ideal, but actually the best thing on the menu. The rarebit was... sublime. 2 types grated cheese, cheddar and red leicester, I think, moistened with beer, over good quality diced bacon. The topping was as thick as the bread. Offered white or granary, Worcestershire sauce, or not. Served on wooden platter, with a nice big salad garnish. Lovely.
S: slice of choc cake. :wacky:
D: chicken breast with pecorino cheese, cherry toms and garlic, with 2 small DIY onion bhajis and coleslaw

B: Berries and cream
L: Prawns and Marie Rose dressing on romaine lettuce, cucumber
D (will be): Ribeye steak, mixed salad, mushrooms & courgettes, avocado, a couple of buttered new potatoes cooked with mint from the garden

Fasted.

Coffee and water

D: mc d cheeseburger no bun, half square dark choc, decaf, peanut butter with cucumber and avacado bacon lettuce wraps.

Was at park all day and was ravenous when we got back. Feeling over stuffed now and should have gone easier on the feast....

Fried wild caught salmon filet (6.5 oz) -- in olive oil. Butter and lemon juice added at end. Steamed freshly snapped green beans, with salt & slathered in butter. Was quite tasty! :)

Breakfast was stuffed eggplant w/ pork, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, onion, 1 tbsp tomato paste, pistachio nuts, raw pumpkin seeds (green) and freshly ground flax seed -- garnished with scallion. Also topped with a bit of feta cheese -- yum.

B - Berries and greek yog
L - flat peach (small but still 11g carbs !)
D - prawn stirfry, just veg - shockingly 33g carbs. I should have chosen different veg - I could have had some rice for that many carbs if I'd chosen more wisely. It didn't affect my BS though - up 0.7 after 2 hrs.

For breakfast we enjoyed a large salad:
spinach, kale, radish, scallions, kalamata olives, three cherry tomatoes, diced ham, tablespoon of black beans, sliced pickled peppers, a few pumpkin seeds, teaspoon freshly ground flax seed, avocado, hard boiled egg, olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, garlic powder. Topped with feta and blue cheese. Was quite delicious :) Basically threw the fridge in the salad :)

Anyone else ever start their day with a large salad? I think it's like the first or second time I've done this in my life.. and actually I quite like it.. was very filling and made me feel good.

Salmon salad tonight with some nuts and a nice sauvignon blanc:)

B: Sukrin roll with butter and Marmite
L: Prawns and romaine lettuce; raspberries & cream
D (will be): Pulled pork, salad, 120g wild rice
S: Sugar-free, low carb brownie

Today is an impromptu fat fast - due to me needing to finish up my Dietdoc LC choc cake.

So
B: slice of choc cake with coffee substitute to drink.
L: (at 3pm) another slice of cake
D: will be another slice of cake. If I am feeling particularly decadent, I will add strawberries and cream.

Awesome, eh? Apparently you really CAN live on cake.
lol.
The cake recipe is 2.5 bars of lindt 70%, 150g butter, 5 eggs, no sweetener at all, no nuts or flour, some vanilla and a pinch of salt. Makes 8 large slices, or 16 tiddly ones. Guess which size I am eating...?
- pretty d*mn perfect for a fat fast. Delicious, fairly low protein, low carb (I make it about 90g carb for the whole cake)
