What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Not long got home after a great day at the PHC conference, some really informative and entertaining talks.
Early start so no breakfast but they provided coffee ( with cream) and little pots of nuts at registration rather than the usual pastries. I had some almonds.
Lunch was a mildly spicy chicken with roast broccoli then cheese.
Dinner after the conference (with some of the lovely people on this thread who attended today) at Jamie’s Italian: steak, garlic butter lettuce with a parmesan dressing and kale salad with hazelnuts. Decaf coffee& cream. Wish I’d taken a photo of it now after reading back a few posts.

Just had a couple of squares Montezumas orange and cocoa nibs since getting back. @maglil55 I haven’t tried the black forest one, must look out for it.

@Brunneria maybe @Tipetoo ’s spider breaks forum rule C18 “Posting grotesque and/or offensive content”. As an arachnophobe I found it grotesque and offensive! :nailbiting: ;) What do you think @Goonergal ?!

Anyway my food today:
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold piri piri chicken with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon at Nero’s raspberry phd bar with a coconut cappuccino.
Dinner at Jamie’s: chicken al mattone with kale and hazelnut salad with creamy Parmesan dressing followed by coffee with cream and 85% chocolate.

Marinated some chicken thighs and drummies overnight in Nandos marinades. The slow cooker guts makes a handy container to soakem in.

Ah.
I never see any pics like that.
They just appear in posts as i scroll through the thread.

Certainly editing them is not inside my mod permissions, so am sorry, but I can’t remove it.

However... as a suggestion, try posting new, pleasant pics into posts. The spider may be appearing because it is the last pic on the thread (or something). If you add nicer pictures, then they may turn up instead...?

Lol I've posted three or four in hopes they'd make it. I'll just be patient... ;) Maybe it's an app thing.

I thought you were suggesting an improvised support for climbers?

That's a good idea too. I was thinking of m-i-l's fence, which had plant hangers screwed in every 4-5 feet for a long ways.

Last week I "discovered" ostrich fillets in my local supermarket. Delicious, tasty (like a decent steak), tender and I believe healthy and about half the price of an average steak! Best of all, blood sugar drops after eating them!:woot:

Ostrich and scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning.

Now if I can find the eggs, I'm having the daddy of all omelettes :D

Great menu and excellent discovery. One of my all time favourite meals was ostrich steak with roquefort in glorious sunshine in St Emelion. Eggs, we have almost 5 dozen and there will be more later.

Yes, I had the same problem when I kept my chooks. They always seem to lay more in May and June. One year I had some Black Rocks which (in one day) laid more eggs than I had hens.

We spent yesterday evening watching all the last series of Line of Duty..... wow!!!

Today....

Brunch: usual Sunday brunch of bacon, egg, high meat content chipolatas, mushrooms and a couple of tablespoons of baked beans
Lunch: Nothing
Dinner: Oxtail cooked in the slow cooker with a splash of red wine, herbs, garlic and some field mushrooms
Drinks: BDC, SSW, CFDC, RW.

Incredibly bloody meat though. I prefer not to have to cook it myself. Yeah I know, wimp.

Welcome @Arfie ! Eat enough of that ostrich and you'll be a world class sprinter ;)
@ianpspurs you raise ostrich as well?
Last night's meal went on nearly until bedtime and while all was LC the consumption level was VeryH...
Return to real life today I hope.
Bfast 1/2 avocado, pecans, #crispie flax, DWGM, 3 sq 90% choc
Lunch another flax crispie and either smoked or planked salmon, will have to get to son's to find out
Supper there's a leftover plate from last night's party so we'll see what's on that.

@Forum members who attended the conference in London. Are any conclusions from the conference re diabetes and diet going to be published for the public at any time?

I've not been at the conference and have had a frustring time trying to stream some content, however, I do know the videos of the presentations will be published on the Public Health Collaboration YouTube account, in due course.

Not me but the guy at the local crocodile farm does - you see the birds strutting about freely and the crocs happily basking - and so do a few others around here - farmer's markets are stacked to the gunnels with 'em

You're pulling my leg, right?
Ostrich, being fowl, would probably be one I'd try, and also non-river-bottom croc. Florida has alligators and no need to farm them. There's a reality tv show called maybe Swamp Men which can be hilarious. Hunt gators for the bounty, then have a feast!

Apologies if this is seen as advertising but https://www.johnsonsofoldhurst.co.uk/crocodiles

Today’s food was:
Cuppa tea first thing as no coffee...
Chocolate (yuck with tea, only works with coffee)
Breakfast was eggs and cheese bunged in microwave...

Then hunt for the coffee...I bought 3 jars this last week...
Found coffee in grocery shopping bag still in boot from last Wednesday when Drains repair people were apologising profusely and I forgot shopping. I was very lucky there was no perishable food in the bag...

Coffee with cream
Another coffee with cream...

Lunch was then at 2pm with 2 small chicken drumsticks
And pudding of blueberries heated a bit with a couple spoonfuls jelly on top, blitzed seeds and linseeds, chia seeds and cream.
That was meant to be it, but there was a lonely boiled egg from a couple days ago when I took the pots into the kitchen......

Having my final coffee with cream. It is 3:30 pm.

I want to garden in a bit and I need the food to settle first.

There will be water and cuppa tea later.

Late again!
Back from my adventure at the Ice cream farm. I was very disciplined and only had half a teaspoon of peardrop flavour (there were actual crushed peardrops visible) I couldn't have eaten a whole cone full it was far too sweet. I never thought that I would ever utter those words.
Yesterday I had a full English breakfast Bacon , sausage, eggs fried and scrambled and a few mushrooms, with a cup or two of coffee.
Lunch a cup of tea.
Dinner chicken and Bacon salad.
Today I had the same for breakfast
A glass of sparkling water at lunch time and pate and lettuce for later in the evening.
