What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

My sore throat and bad chest started up again late last night. Thought I'd left that behind in UK.
On constant lozenges but bg holding up so far
B: greek yog with seeds and raspberries
L left over cold prime rib, oh so good! A small icecream (for my throat you understand)
D will be ham and cheese omelette, and maybe a medicinal glass of red

Spinach Tofu curry, slim rice and salad - onion, tomato, cucumber marinated in apple cider vinegar and tossed with an experimental dip prepared by grinding corriander, chilli olive oil, ginger, garlic powder, 1 tsp greek yogurt, half lemon, mint and dried fenugreek leaves....

it was yum...

I separated the excess liquid from salad and dipped roasted edamame beans to prepare a nice snack too which tasted great too...

As am a bit under the weather and had to take lemsip, I had to eat at 24 hour mark rather than my standard 36 hours, so figured might as well experiment... it worked out quite alright...

Good news is none of this resulted in spike so all's well that "tastes" well :)

How frustrating, the pictures haven't loaded somehow.
Could you try again?
As you've probably realised 'mooching' supermarkets and foods is my favourite holiday activity
I’ll try but I think the forum currently has an issue with pictures, judging by what’s going on in a PM I’m involved in. Tagging @Administrator and will add to the list being compiled elsewhere.

Morning all. Haven't eaten anything yet. My punishment for a 12.1 last night! Today I'm going No carbs with ham and eggs. And tonight sausages (bratwurst) with broccoli and cauli. Maybe repair some of the damage. I can only think I ought to stop going to the pensioners lunch. I know I look forward to the company but the stress of seeing 12.1 is not easy. I'm obviously very weak-willed!

Breakfast: earlyish to clear up before my cleaner arrived to do the floors - chicken mayo on a slice of white toast. I still haven't made any wholemeal but I must.
2nd meal will be white fish (haddock I think), possibly made into chunky fish fingers and some frozen peas made into mushy ones. Depends when my friend leaves with the 2 boys she's bringing.

Added: BG yo yoing a bit. Started at 6.5 (correction dose late last night), shot up to 15.9 before breakfast. Now down to 9.5 after basal and bolus to deal with the breakfast. Acceptable, if not brilliant.

@RosemaryJackson - Granny was terrified of thunderstorms but her actions did scar us kids a bit. While my sister was still with us, she didn't resort to cupboards but she would go sit in a hallway with all tge doors shut during a thunderstorm.
We were always fascinated by thunderstorms and lightening and would sit by the (closed) window to watch the display but my MIL actually enjoyed such storms. When she was small her family lived in a Glasgow tenement and her father would open up the kitchen window and share his enjoyment of the storm with his children. I suppose it was a good thing that the kitchen sink was by the window and was one of those old fashioned lead ones. No taps, of course, and no actual water source there either.

Thank you. I shall look out for them. Was relieved to find the Moser Roth chocolates and seeds reasonable prices in Aldi yesterday.

The cheese looks like what we get in the UK called "cheesies". I'll try and hunt some down here in case it's cheaper... but with current exchange rate think I'll be coming back with an empty suitcase

Mid morning breakfast of bacon eggs and avocado.
Late lunch of Schneider brot with cheese, sliced beef, mustard, 1/2 with gherkin and the other half with ginger&turmeric sauerkraut. H/m yoghurt berries and seeds afterwards.
Covid jab this afternoon. I notice it contains sucrose but didn’t seem to affect BG. Must be just a tiny amount
Late afternoon snack - found the last of a HC 100% Easter Egg I’d hidden in my wardrobe and ate it.
Supper was cheese and nuts.

D : 1 bratwurst sausage with salad and 3 cherry tomatoes. 1 small icecream 1 glass red wine

Interesting, and hard work, working out the food labels over here. Every thing is done by portion so have to multiply up then convert ounces to grams to get a rough idea to compare to what I'm used to in UK. For example 1 bratwurst (a portion) was 3 g carbs, but ingredients listed corn oil and glucose and 1 sausage was quite small. Corn oil seems to be in everything.
So glad I treated myself to a libre so I can see what's really going on!

Hi All
Thanks for concern and kind remarks re Mr PM. He continues to have regular ‘events’ and has been referred urgently to Cardio. In the meantime we are paying for a private consultation next week. The really scary thing is on Sun evening I couldnt get either a taxi or an ambulance and I can’t drive in the dark so he had to drive himself. He got told off but what are we supposed to do. Rang son who was 2 hours away. Neighbours are all OAPs with their own issues.
Anyway back to topic.
usual brekkie of slice LC toast and copious tea. Yesterday lunch was big mug of chicken soup. Supper was two plant burgers topped with two portobello mushrooms preceded by a few Marmite peanuts and a gin & soda.
Today lunch will be cold plate with bit cold meat, cheese, chopped salad & spoon coleslaw. Supper will be chili (atMr PM’s request) but I may well have an omelette.
