Didn't post yesterday, so here goes.
Breakfast... Skipped
Lunch.. Omelette
Dinner... 2 glasses of fizz, Thai pork larb with sugary dipping sauce, Thai green curry with chicken, aubergines and peppers, RICE, 1.5 bottles of beer, 1 glass of scotch, 1 glass of rum... a few chocolates.
Weirdly mY Libre3 set off a low glucose alarm (4.1) just after eating and after the first sip of the scotch!!!... Anyway... GB 2 hours after eating was 5.4. This morning 5.3... so not problem with the rice, booze and chocolates!

Felt hungry this morning so ate 1/3 of a burger with a bit of cheese.
Lunch skipped.
dinner will be some left overs from last night, but no rice!

Mid afternoon, a bit of non diabetic baking as dropped a few hm biscuits into various neighbours, ones had a recent fall, another s husband's funeral was this week, 3rd just back from vets with poorly cat. All of us suffering broken local mobile phone mast so no phones for 8 days already, then the wi fi went down too. :arghh: all there was left to do was have tea and biscuits!
I did have a couple, could have binged the lot so very pleased I gave them away!
D: bacon and cabbage carbonara. Later a glass of white wine
I made biscoff rocky Road tray bake this morning for a church Christmas fair. I was in no way tempted to taste it. Biscoff spread & biscuits mallows, white chocolate. Enough carbs in that to last me for at least a week! I can't imagine how sweet it would taste. It all sold within the first half hour and people were asking for the recipe!
To keep with the thread I have only had coffee so far to day. Am off out for a family celebration and plan to have steak

B- Brie and ham omelette
L- rest of Brie ( about 50g) and a few nuts.
D- air fried duck breast, cauliflower mash and some sprouted seed salad ( new in the Coop but although delicious is unlikely to be restocked, all packs had yellow stickers). Wine with meal, cup of black tea now ( sticking to milk less tea!) and DGF cake.

Skipped breakfast as off to early yoga.
Late morning: 90 second bread with a little cheese melted on top
Flu jab!
Lunchtime: a lc choclate mug cake (definitely needing comfort food today)
D: chicken fajitas without the wrap, cooked for me which was very nice.
A glass of wine.
Then hubby and son indulged in sticky toffee pudding. I asked for 2 spoonfuls, got given a whole small portion. Was too much, didn't enjoy it. Why oh why do people assume we still we want to eat that way?!!!

Did your duck breast skin get crispy in the air fryer, and did it not dry out a bit? .... I have gone back to a spot of milk in my tea!!!! It has a nicer mouth feel and i miss a milky coffee in the morning.... rest of the day, black tea and 1 canderel though.

Yes, crispy duck skin and juicy meat. Highly recommended.
Re milk/ sweeteners in tea and coffee, I think we all have to do what feels right for us at a time that’s right for us. I tried for years to give up sugar in tea, I only had 1/2 teasp so decided it wasn’t worth worrying about. I’ve no idea when I decided to stop but I’ve never gone back. Same with black coffee, I just decided the time was right to go for it and I can’t imagine having it with milk now. I’m hoping I’ll get used to black tea in the same way. It’d be a lot easier.

I stopped taking sugar in tea at about 8 years old but we couldn't get coffee until I was in my teens and I never took it with sugar. Milk, on the other hand, is an essential to me in hot tea or coffee. Cold black tea or cold black coffee is fine without milk, but this is not the time of year for chilled drinks.

That’s interesting that you can drink both without milk if they are cold. I don’t think I’ve ever had cold tea. You’re right though. It’s really not the time of year for chilled drinks.

Two hard boiled eggs, two slices toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Pork loin chop, small amount of mixed veggies, gravy for lunch.
ham and salad sandwich for supper at six.

Couple of small glasses of single malt before I went to bed early again.

Feeling a bit better in the guts this morning, I change the fentanyl patches on my arm today, so they will also help when they start to kick in.

Interesting that the duck breast worked in the airfryer... Have to give it a try.
I only ever had 1/2 a tsp of sugar in my tea and coffee, and i have tried without any sweetner, but even a bit of artificial works for me. Milk in both is nicer except for espresso, but i am more or less there now on all teas and coffees. It takes a few weeks.. will try again without the sweetner.

B-cheese and mushroom omelette
L- cheese and salad in SLC roll
D- chicken breast stuffed with le Roule and wrapped in bacon, served with roast veg. Red wine.

For those that can remember the discussion a couple of weeks ago re bread and butter pudding ( @maglil55 and @AndBreathe ) I tried today with the SLC Not Cross Buns. Looked pretty good when they came out of the oven but I wasn’t keen. The buns didn’t seem to absorb the custard properly, and had that horrible spongy psyllium husk texture. Cooked in the oven as it was on anyway so at least there were crispy bits!

I can't think what else would work for this. I'd originally considered SLC bread but that still leaves the issue of the raisin/sultana mix. Perhaps a thinner custard might be worth a try to see if it absorbs better?

Try reducing your 1/2 teaspoon gradually. That was the route I took and, as I said, I ended up with 6 grains of sugar on the tip of the spoon. It was so silly I eventually just stopped.

Friday 11 November bed 8 FBG 8.1. BGs creeping up and legs are annoying again. I have that constant pins and needles back that us excruciating to walk on but walk I must! Son and DIL were in Edinburgh so I went to collect them after I'd picked the boys up. Getting around Edinburgh is getting worse.

B. TAG and a bit of crustless quiche.

L. Nothing roaming around Edinburgh and shopping on the way back.

D. That seafood/fish mix. I didn't get it right this time. Overcooked the fish and it was rather "rubbery". CC snowconut stick.

Saturday 12 November bed bed 8.6 FBG 8.3. Legs are still a nightmare. Nerves in the legs are very jumpy. Thankfully I only had to take the boys to jujitsu then home again. I actually started my Christmas shopping!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with pate

L. CC little chocolate pot

D. Usual cold cuts. Ham, roast beef, chicken, ox tongue and 1/2 a scotch egg. Coleslaw.

Em's here so things are a bit topsey turvey. She slept until about 9.30 so I had time to make bacon pancakes to give her with syrup. My morning was not quite a write off, but I was getting very frustrated. I explained all that on the https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/th...se-full-on-chat.163627/page-2933#post-2559727 thread.

Breakfast was one slice of the wholemeal bread I made yesterday, with plenty of butter.

I was bad and checked little bits of the pancakes - different batter to my usual so I wasn't sure how it would work. A bit on the thick side and too big really for my pan. Em liked them though and my BG is still only 7.3.

Main food today will be much later and will be twice cooked pork belly. First time poached in chicken stock and second time fried to give it a tasty, crisp coat. Probably put some fried onion and some chopped sun dried tomato (just a little) with that.

Brunch- SLC roll filled with ham and cream cheese.
Dinner- slow roast shoulder of lamb with puréed swede, broccoli and a baked big mushroom filled with cheesy leeks. Few glasses of wine and St Agur cheese with h/m seedy crackers to finish.
Black tea for the rest of the evening ☹️
@maglil55 I don’t think I’ll do any more experimenting with b&b pud. Today I chucked them all out of the fridge. To rub salt in the wounds, even though I’d buttered the ramekins generously, it all got stuck on the inside and was the devil to clean!
