What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Fried bacon and eggs, button mushrooms, cherry tomatoes for breakfast.
Half a Red Rooster chicken wit that Portugese hot and spicy marinade they sell, no veggies for lunch.
Sand crab meat mixed witha litte bit of kimchi on crackes for supper ar six.

Glass of single malt before beditime

Dragging my fbgl back into the fives again, not that it matters much as I have not had a hba1c blood test for awhile.

Today there will be no breakfast and no lunch - it's endoscopy day and I can't even have a cup of tea to put my BG up a bit (currently 5.8 and falling, for some unknown reason). I think I have a little bottle of glucose in the car so must remember to take it into the hospital with me - just in case (Yuk!). I'm feeling hungry already though but hope tghe feeling will go away if I try to think of something else. I just have a perverse system.

When I get home, there is beef mince already made and some sausages - both from yesterday so there is something there to eat without much effort.

Yesterday breakfast was cheese and tomato on wholemeal toast and half an apple ( 42 carbs )
Lunch was an omelette another piece of w/m toast and coffee . Was doing ok till takeaway was mentioned and I capitulated ( think all this grey damp miserable weather makes me want carbs and junk food more ). So evening meal was sweet and sour chicken balls noodles and spare ribs ( in sauce ) followed by a few biscuits before bed ( not a good idea )
All this gave me a 7.9 FBG this morning ( wednesday )

My go to food when wanting warm and comforting is either a 90 second bread with cheese or tuna, or a low carb microwave mug cake, chocolate for preference

I think your go to comfort food was a far better choice than mine .

Bacon, 1 sausage, 2 eggs, tomato and mushroom
Clotted cream
Coffee and cream
Roast chicken with tomatoes.

My endoscopy appointment was at 9.30 am and I was to have no food or drink, other than sips of water, for 6 hours before my procedure. 3 am saw me with a slice of buttered toast and a cup of tea. Took my basal insulin around 7.30. I didn't get into the operating theatre until 2.30. It wasn't the best experience I have ever had of endoscopy. On recovery, I was given 2 slices of toast - quite cool and 2 tiny pats of butter - too hard to spread - and some jam of some sort, plus a huge mug of tea. I had a smallish dose of insulin (50u) then the tea and dry toast because I couldn't be bothered trying to spread those tiny pats of butter. Anyway, I'm home now and having a decent cup of tea before heating up the beef mince and adding some mushrooms to it, and maybe, some peas. BG currently 10.9 - should have taken 60u.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner out: mixed grill with salad and yes I did eat chips, but only the six small ones in the pic!
(Blood sugar topped out at 6.9, so not bad!)

Morning all. Had my coffee with tablespoon Baileys. Going to eat the belly pork slices for dinner today. Went out shopping with a friend yesterday and had a breakfast at dinner time. (Dinner time for me is midday). Teatime is a mystery as yet. Depends what I fancy.

Once again, had a slice of toast at about 7 am. BG shot up after 11/2 hours from 8.5 to 10.9 - just on one slice. That's after a hefty dose of insulin. Not good.

Probably 3 meals today. Second one will be some of the mince, maybe some chopped, cooked sausage, egg, onions and maybe a tomato, all mixed up together. If I add an egg, it will be a kind of egg mess, so I might do that. Just remembered the mushrooms - that's something else to add to the "mess".

3rd meal? Maybe sardines, if I can think of something to put them onto that isn't high carb. Might just make a kind of chopped salad with them using cucumber, spring onions, another tomato and perhaps a hard boiled egg. Sounds awful, but I rather fancy the idea.
