What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Saturday started with Brekkie of usual slice LC toast and tea. Then was out for lunch in a town I am unused to. It was a Thai chosen by the others and I was a bit worried but I didn’t need to. They served each of us a beautiful plate of four tapas one of which was jasmine rice and didn’t blink when ordering I asked if the rice could be replaced with stirfried veg. It was a lovely relaxing time. I too get fed up with being out and having to plead for changes. i have been told more than once that this meal comes with chips so if you want an alternative you need to order from the sides menu. I must add some friends just don’t understand why I resist going to pizza or pasta places. I miss our occasional outings in the past to Pizza Express but I don’t want to sit with just a salad looking at and smelling pizza on the table. Supper on Sat evening was Chicken Shaslik from Waitrose on its own.
Yesterday was usual brekkie.
Lunch was shared scrambled egg with my grandpuppy who expects it every time and gets very excited. Supper was roasted spatchc**k chicken with roasted Med veg.

Morning all. Just had my cwc and won't eat until lunchtime. Pensioners lunch today and I know it's sausages (my favourites). Will be taking my 2 crackers with cheese. It's also Forget-me-Not tea today. This one is just cakes and pastries with as much tea or coffee as you can drink for £1. But I must resist....... hope they are not famous last words! If I give in, I will confess.... promise. Have a nice day :)

First thing before heading out for a busy day - small portion of kefir with some lemon zest
1ish while out - two boiled eggs I took with me. I forgot to put salt on my eggs and didn't enjoy them as much without salt!
5ish confit duck leg served with a low carb wrap, kimchi, sauerkraut, a few olives and small tomatoes followed by LC blondie warmed and served with yoghurt.will have a few squares of 100% chocolate with my decaffeinated coffee in a while.

The day did not go well.

I am still testing to see what carbs do to my BG so I had one slice of home made wholemeal bread with butter - used what I would normally use of insulin - admittedly a lot but that is normal to have with bread. That was breakfast. BG kept dropping and I kept fixing it. Half way trough the afternoon, there was a sudden drop and a hypo hit me. Took action, of course, and brought BG up, eventually to 6.5 but I still felt absolutely awful. Slept for about 4 hours and when I woke up - still shaky - it was 5.9. Keeping a close eye on it.

Hungry, but that's me finished with bread. Minimum carbs from now on. I have some fish in the oven baking and I will have that with nothing else and no insulin, in a while. Prepping the fish wasn't easy because suddenly today my arthritis jumped to my right hand and I couldn't hold a knife. My left arm and hand have been affected by the arthritis for a long time, but my dominant hand has always been free of it. Really hoping it eases off by tomorrow.

Neil managed to get another half dozen small eggs today, so I will be able to have eggs for breakfast tomorrow. No need for bread with that.

Had to wait in most of the day for boiler people to come, which means I ate too much.
Late breakfast of sliced beef and horseradish on schneiderbrot.
Lunch- airfried chicken drumsticks then a DGF cake.
Dinner leftover roast beef slices with leftover cauli cheese. Another DGF cake with double cream.
About 15 g Montezuma’s Absolute Black at some point too.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: coffee shop coconut cappuccino and a phd bar.
Dinner: bacon melts with broccoli and cauliflower followed by SF blackcurrant jelly and cream.

I'm also refusing going to the supermarket because of my birthday plans on monday: Party will consist of a friend and I driving to Germany to buy foreign food stuff and get some holiday vibes, so it would be stupid to go to my usual supermarket right now.
Had a wonderful day and bought way too much!

Todays late evening meal was two slices of low carb bread with various toppings bought in Germany.
Second picture is everything I bought, good thing I made room in the fridge and freezer this morning! :hilarious:

Just had my breakfast of bacon and eggs. Took insulin - much less than normal because BG was very high so am hoping thqt will bring it down to a reasonable level. It's started dropping already so, again, keeping an eye on it.

2nd meal is going to have to be cold chicken with mushrooms and some salad.

Definitely giving up on bread - it's too unpredicatable. Reducing carbs as far as I can. We'll see how it helps BG this time, but mostly I am trying to protect my liver now as well.

Hands still painful and using them is proving to be a bit of an issue but I have ordered some fingerless compression gloves from Amazon and they might help.

I've been on broth all day again today but today is chicken instead of beef
I was going to have a beer with dinner again but felt too sick after the first sip and put the opened can back in the fridge

Anyway, apart from being sick lots of things have changed. I'm using a dexcom now instead of libre for a start

Let's hope tomorrow is better 'cause I'm hungry but everytime I go to eat anything solid I don't feel well. So, for now, more broth (when I say I've had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner it doesn't mean I'm not eating more than that... I think I've had about 7 or 8 bowls today which is probably about the same as yesterday; I'm not counting how many bowls I have and haven't been filling in my food diary since Saturday, just having them "as required")
