I'm seeing friends for lunch tomorrow and one of the friends made the choice and booking of the restaurant - saying it was great as lots of salads, plant based and gluten free choices on the menu. As usual before going out to a new restaurant I've just been researching looking at the lunch menu. I have to admit I'm shocked as just about everything is high carb! Most things are in sweet and sticky sauces or honey and pomegranate drizzles! Even the burger comes not only in a bun as expected ( and easy to remove) but is served with something called bacon jam and gravy!! The salads all have honey and pomegranate dressing. So instead of planning ahead and choosing something that fits in with low carb eating I will be asking if they can leave off most of the listed components. Even tapas, often a good fall back, are all served in complex sweet and spicy sauces! Wish me luck I'm expecting to feel embarrassed! Rather that though than raise my blood sugars too much for me.

@shelley262 I feel for you. Eating out can be a nightmare unless you’re with people who understand the way we eat. Good luck.
Today I had Greek yoghurt and seeds for breakfast.
Lunch was a l/c ham and cheese sandwich fried in ghee followed by a l/c brownie
Dinner- beef silverside slow cooked with carrots, shallots and bay leaf. Sauteed sprouts, green beans. Choc chia pud.

That is so frustrating, and, like you said embarrassing. I hope you at least enjoyed your friends’ company.

A busy day, so just black coffee this morning.
Lunch was a L/c ham & mozzarella pizza, done as a calzone by folding in half so it fit in my air fryer. Yoghurt with blueberries afterwards.
Dinner- later than usual to celebrate a daughter’s birthday was t/a curry: saag paneer and chicken tikka. Slice of Panda Pantry Christmas cake while they all ate birthday cake.
