What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Dear boy, one can NOT count american Mustard as MUSTARD..have you NO decorum.

Colemans all the way.

( and occasionally Dijon,
i'm not a total Philistine, you know..;) )

I probably am when it comes to mustard. My mother, OTOH, was a mustard connoisseur and the last thing I bought on my last visit to England was a six-pack of mustard for her -- including one variety that was even too hot for her -- something I didn't think was possible!

The KittenCat's tail is pure American -- Domestic Shorthair through and through.

How on earth does a creature able to bend us to it's will and every whim, be quite SO stupid.:banghead:

maybe it's catching...Marley was sleeping..and has just fell OFF the bed..it's KING size..*** :hilarious:

The KittenCat has been known to fall off the backs of sofas in her sleep, and off of windowsills. And although our bed is a mere queen-size, she has never* fallen off of it!

In the KittenCat's defense:

I was eating lunch on the sofa. My plate was beside me on the sofa. The KittenCat came and sat on the floor looking up at me. I invited her to join me. She jumped up into my lap and in doing so unwittingly dipped the tip of her tail into the mustard on my plate.
Perhaps one-offs like this are the reason some people have Manx cats?
But I would not exchange the KittenCat for a Manx cat for all the tea in India ... or for all the motorcycles on the Isle of Man. :D

Thank you for explaining about facias and soffits. I knew "eaves" but not the different facings. :)
I think dog and cat parks would be great features in Little Carbing.
I'm starting to feel like Hilaire Belloc --

... a cottage in a deep wood
Within a walk of the sea
And my online friends shall sit in the pub
And eat low-carb with me.

But they shalt not have pasta or rice,
Cereal, potato or bread
But a feast they will have with so much that's nice
And no harm in one glass of red ;-)

How lovely to finally meet, no constraint
Away from the forum online
In a place @Muddy Cyclist or @gennepher drew
In their paintings which are mighty fine

But until then we must settle for less
The forum still gives us so much
The support, the laughs and I confess
Its my helping hand and my crutch

Bravo...:D nice.:)

That sounds like wonderful experiences for your son. I used to love Upstairs, Downstairs back in the '70s. I love the setting and the scenery of DA too. What I didn't like was the constant, ceaseless intrigue -- Thomas and O'Brien got to be too much too soon, and the complications with poor Bates, it was like Fellowes tried to cram the trials and tribulations of an entire society into one household.
That's what I loved about it :-)

Ah, ah us blokes are all alike, I always deny throwing myself down steep rocky drops to Mrs MC, she think I go out for a gentle potter. But I suspect she is not fooled. :joyful:

For me the wetter, muddier and sometimes bloodier the better. I do try and avoid the later though as Mrs MC asks too many questions.

Do you also play rugby?

I can't let the day pass without mentioning the funny and brilliant Nicholas Parsons, who sadly is no longer in this world.

Mrs MC and I ran a small theatre for 30 years, a charity and for love not pay. Nicholas Parsons came to give a performance of his beloved Edward Lear poetry and insight into Lears life, he was excellent and most entertaining. However some theatre goers had come with very young children for which the performance was not appropriate. I was in the lighting box and could see and hear them misbehaving , their parents doing nothing to prevent it. I was wondering how I was going to stop this when Nicholas stopped the performance saying "This poetry and performance is difficult enough to remember and deliver without the noise and distraction from your children, please leave at once and I will then continue." Polite but very firm and they left.

Another great entertainer leaves a gap in our world.

Yes, back in the late 60s I played for my local town, had my front tooth kicked out, I Played on the wing 10 stone 7lbs wringing wet :joyful: but very fast and so always in the team. I stopped when a team member broke his neck in a game against a Welsh team and died. Mrs MC insisted I give it up, although then she was my girlfriend not wife.

I have always been active in sport, Rugby, Hockey, Squash, Cycling, Water Polo but find no pleasure in watching sport, not your typical team supporter I'm afraid.

I clicked Winner for you and Nicholas Parsons and for your shared sensibilities at that performance.
The hug is for you and others who knew him and mourn him. I am sorry for your loss.

Talented!

Powder and mix yourself, or the tubed/jar easy copout?

Copout, obv....i mean who''s got time for THAT..:woot:

i'm a busy man...writing my memoirs as we speak....since you ask.

A year with the Plainsfolk. By JJRaak

"...as over time the the mists cleared, It became clear to me, that THIS was no ordinary tribe..
To see these people as they were now, it was like being there on resurrection day,

That so many had been face down in the dirt at DX, yet here they were in their droves,
slowly coming back to life..all aided and abetted by the warm camaraderie and friendship of a Place
that became HOME to so many
A place that brought them comfort, information and a Way forward they could only have dreamed of..."

"A gripping read".. The Sunday Times.

( is what .i'm aiming for, but settle for a good review in the Croydon gazette)

With luck it MIGHT even get taken on as a film project.
i'm hoping Clooney plays me,...:D............,( Brad would just be FAR too unrealistic....:hilarious:..)

already planning on getting the Rock to play @dunelm
and Julia Roberts plays @HarryBeau , obvously

Tbh could do with some help picking out the actors needed, to give the roles the meaty performances they so richly deserve.
so pipe up with your own ideas.;).:D

@ianpspurs , @DJC3 , @Ryhia and @karen8967 today I just had to find out for sure - was it the protein that kept my blood sugars high for hours yesterday or something else.

Luckily a client cancelled their 1:1 so I was able to go across the road and have exactly the same meal as I had yesterday but I ate less than half of the chicken (the rest I bought home for the doggies breakfast tomorrow).

Prior to my meal I ate exactly the same food as I did yesterday.

Blood sugars were 4.8 prior to the meal (weirdly exactly the same as yesterday).
2 hours after eating they were 6.0 (yesterday they were 7.2)
Now - 6 hours after eating they are 5.3. Yesterday I kept testing for almost 8 hours and they were still 7.2.

So it definitely looks as though it was the protein that kept the BS high. I had suspected this for ages but wanted to make sure that it wasn't the fat from the bacon and all the melted cheese that had kept the BS high yesterday.

I did enjoy the meal much more than yesterday because I didn't feel overstuffed afterwards. So a very enjoyable experiment.

I would like to play myself, love the acting, dressing up, BUT I suppose you need some Big Names and Muddy Cyclists real name may be mixed up with an actor from by gone ages.

So it will have to be Johnny Depp, he plays a mean guitar and fronts a great group Hollywood Vampires, I also think he would be up for the Mountain Biking Scenes and he's almost as Handsome as me :joyful:

Edit... not such a great group, not keen, but he can play the guitar. He also paints.....

Good morning/evening folks, a 5.7 on the dice today, so back on the McGarrett plains.
If we are looking for actors I would pick Tom Hanks having just listened to an old episode of desert island discs featuring him, a thoroughly nice bloke and a T2.

Morning all. Too high fbg of 5.5 at 4.30 this morning. Anytime this early waking feels like ending the visits is fine by me although it is usually a sign of eating VLC/keto levels. Shame none of the benefits ascribed to this WOE ever seem to visit except maybe weight loss over 4.5 years. @jjraak can't help with actors or films, just not my thing, so most of the names people mention won't mean anything to me - I do know of Tom Hanks and his T2 @trick60 . @Krystyna23040 the experiment seems to have proved your point and the dogs had a treat into the bargain. Have a great day lovely people.
