What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Ah, but you achieve good A1cs from there. Mine are rubbish at that point so there is the point of difference in our attitude to that level.
I cant fathom with the FBGs you get and how carefully you eat why yout A1c doesnt correspond. Maybe a Libre trial could help because it just doesnt make sense. You are entitled to feel cheated. I would.

good morning everyone and happy International Bin Day to you all from the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of “I told you yesterday that my life ended in 11 hours time” and referred me to the downstairs finger pricking meter of misery (I have an upstairs meter of jest and jape). So, after coaxing the recycling bin out to it’s collecting station and performing the washing of the hands and fingers we sat down for a catch up and 4.8 was agreed upon. I don’t know why some folk have libra sensors that seem to give out quite different readings than their Gom Jabbar’s - mine must all be in love with each other.

@karen8967 - nice readings after the trial of the pump.
@Krystyna23040 - protein - meat - funny stuff protein. If you consume more than your body needs, which is not a great deal some of it gets converted to carbohydrate. Lots of figures abound but round about 0.75g per 1kg of body weight are good working numbers. Excess gives you, for each 1g over, about 4kcal but converted to carbohydrate. Strangely though, if all you eat is protein for a while (I ate a whole chicken over two meals yesterday), it seems fine. My carnivour month ends in a couple of days so will see what happens to my fasting readings then.

Have as wonderful a day as you can, the call of the koffy is strong within me.

Both are fantastic, very different but good works of art. What a talent J had and a wonderful picture to remember him by.

I can understand your fascination with that wave of yours, magical, so much action.

Tbh could do with some help picking out the actors needed, to give the roles the meaty performances they so richly deserve.
so pipe up with your own ideas.

Can I have Keanu Reeves? Not so much for his action roles but for his moral code and way of life, he is mixed race like myself and somewhat of a loner. He'd need to put on a few pounds

I hate that bin crew @OldButBold

Especially when I come back on a windy, during rain, long day when I am exhausted, and the blooming bin and recycle containers are bang in the middle of the front of the driveway preventing me from driving into my driveway. I have to get out of the car, move them away, then get back in the car absolutely soaked....

The air is steely blue....

@gennepher what a treat for the eyes today. Your wave took me back to the first time we arrived at Watergate Bay on a blustery Good Friday and the waves were enormous with surfers in their element. Your beloved J’s painting is beautiful.
Glad your fbg is coming down. Have a good day Gennepher and Popeye. Keep warm.

Yes, Watkins is a wonderful route, we stayed at the Youth Hostel at Bryn Gwynant one year and did five routes over five days.
I don’t know the area between Harlech and Barmouth but I did do my summer mountain leadership course on Cader Idris, just a bit east of Barmouth. The winter course was in the Cairngorms. Happy trails.

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist

thanks for the compliment

By the way this site is playing me up this morning making my replies and emoji awarding very difficult...

What a challenge for you. But you've got this! Ive no doubt everything will be so much better next week.

Thankyou @PenguinMum

I love the wildest of waves. They make me alive when I swim in them....

Welcome to the chattiest thread in the world ;-) we all love it, glad you do too. Great fbs.

So sad to read that your bin day did not go as planned. A letter to your MP will get you absolutely nowhere so perhaps the phone call will light up someone’s otherwise miserable day at the council offices. I think you may be best served by some energetic team of specialists from Glasgow.

Thanks, I did start doing the same a few months ago then somehow forgot all about it. Your BG levels are always spot on though so I shall start again.
I scrape cheese and save Parmesan rinds too!
I thought inulin was to help you sleep better, so it brings down bs too?

As a fan of the entire Dune series I had not made that association, now I have. Thank you
The naming of and then talking to (or shouting at) small electronic devices is the only sane thing in the wacky world of blood sugars, medieval dietary practices and deep conversations with your liver.
