What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@PenguinMum
I made a mess of my reply to you.
It put my reply inside your quote and wouldn't let me take it out however many times I tried to edit it!!!

So here is my reply again!!!

Sounds like you had a good day.

Yes, maybe I could write a book though. I can still remember enough to fill a book, and in the absence of early impromptu photos or opportunity photos that a smartphone can give us this day, I can draw a picture. But I do have plenty of print/paper photos. I had an SLR then.

You have given me an idea for a project :)

mmhh..i have had that happen a few times @gennepher

i found deleting the [#quote] parts, then re-inserting manually worked for me.
but still annoying it doesn't work as expected....

(please ignore the #..it just make the quote A quote otherwise ;) )

She’s now beating herself up because she thinks she should have done it sooner - not waited so long to make the decision while poor Cat was getting more and more stressed.
She’s babysitting Dennis for a couple of days soon so I hope that helps to fill a furry gap in her heart.
She did what she thought best at the time. Never look back in anger.
first up..the Jimny?
Nice ..liked the one i saw.

2nd..like the analogy, and so true.

do we ever say how well it's working as often as we moan it's creaking or letting us down in some way.
always a wonder to me that the 'Blueprint' comes out anywhere near enough to the original so many times
when you begin to understand just HOW complicated the entire process is.:wideyed:

and i thought as we are admiring the universe around us, this would be a most suitable soundtrack to reflect on natures wonders all around us.
Glorious sound.
What's the music @jjraak I love it!

@ianpspurs I empathise with you on the LCHF front, however we push on in good faith.

Doing my best doesn't cut it for me. "Winning," "achieving" doing things "correctly" but to a recognisably good/high level is always what I want. If my best doesn't meet those standards I need to improve my best asap

Maybe our journey and the growth is really the ultimate goal and perhaps we are not meant to achieve perfection whilst on this mortal coil.

@OldButBold your humour in times of adversity and with mystifying BG readings gives me hope with my own Mysteries of Dracula, keep it up, it really helps to know I'm not alone.

@gennepher so positive what a lovely person you are so up lifting to read your posts.

@dunelm we had a dark side Spring Clean for my 70th birthday, Mrs MC insisted. I didn't have the courage to peep in our loft though where I have a museum full of computer stuff going back to 1976, will look out for that charity it will make Mrs Mc very happy to see all that 'Junk' gone.

Off for a muddy bike ride, first in a week so probably a tad unfit, wish me luck.

Good morning.
Fbg 6.8

I slept until 4.44am
A miracle!!!

Garden calls today.
Fencework repairs.
Unruly Buddleia.
When is that sun going to get up? I think it is getting lazy these days...

Oh well. Coffee and read your posts next....

Have a good day.
Hugs for those who need them.
And thank you for this thread where we can all talk.
And thank you for my comfy bed.
So many things we can be grateful for!!!!!!
I was going to post something very similar about this thread. It's such a special thread isnt it. We can talk about anything and to our hearts content. Anyway you have done it for me and I'm sure we all feel the same.

Enjoy your ride. Another post coming from a good place but ..... I know I won't attain perfection. Still drawn to All Blacks, Steve Smith, Bill Walsh, Tom Brady types. Why not try to be the best you can doing things properly?

a bright and bushy 5.7 here in the capital for me.

Expecting a dry-ish day, so Bike is coming out to play, me thinks.
Have appt at midday, so we'll see where the day takes us.

liking that.:)

Perhaps that IS the goal
i think the "wisdom to know the difference" quote from previous typifies that.
Having the serenity to accept we might not all be a Ronaldo, doesn't stop us trying
just stops the needless anxiety, when we find out we aren't a Ronaldo, imho.

enjoy the bike ride.:D

4.6 today, expected higher as I had choccy n coffee late on. I notice on my daily graph (libre) I dipped below 4, early 3s. Not done that for a while. Wouldnt have expected that after choccy but expect the unexpected with this!

Hubby has been asked back to work. The family owned business has 2 shops. The working jeweller from the other shop has left on health grounds. So they have asked if Eric can spare a day . So for the past 5 Mondays that's what he has done. His retirement from work was short lived. But he is very happy to be doing the job he adores. And 1 day a week suits us. So today we have lots to do. We have almost finished house renovation. At the dressing it up for sale stage. So yesterday I bought a trolley full of light fittings. And that was just for the hallway! Only need 1 but want exactly the right one. Moving paints from this house to the next has to be done (a tenant has moved out, left immaculate but we always freshen up, she has been there for 4 years). Picking up my laptop from 'hospital'. I hope they have been able to sort. It wasnt recognising USBs. Feeding friends 20 year old goldfish while she basks in Turkey. She keeps sending me pics if the spectacular sunsets (attached).

Treating Eric to breaky out before we start. Tonight I'm dragging him to PPG with me. He has some great ideas and will be a wonderful addition to the team. We are no spring chickens but will be the youngest there by far. Wish more came on board but they dont advertise well imo.

Happy Tuesday to all.

I do agree. It's like my Art and Music, even my Mountain Biking, let alone my Health, always striving, never satisfied is a human driving force, maybe perfection is never reached and that is what eternal life is all about, a never ending journey to become perfect. Searching for perfection should always be the goal but we also need to enjoy the journey.

We all have many journeys outside this forum but with a common goal of conquering T2D and spreading the word. A wonderful mix of people all helping and supporting each other.

Whoops getting a bit heavy, sorry.

Must go now Mud is calling.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Hmmm strange morning here, well to be totally honest every morning is strange, but enjoyable.

A 6.6 I'm saying nothing about my meter, reading or lump hammer next to my meter on Mrs J's worktop..... strangely enough Mrs J has said a lot, what was said I have no idea I wasn't listening.

Funny old week, rugby, foot the ball and Boris the beast. All of this is making me wonder what next week has planned for us. Tanks on Parliament square? Who knows.
Keep eating, drinking and breaking wind, but remember to sweep up the bits of broken wind, they are recyclable.

Edit: just going to take my sanity pills, they don't work, but it keeps the doctors happy.

Hope Mr @Krystyna23040 has a postive outcome from the hospital and the walk and meal go well. Oh, just looked up the 20 Church Wardens.
I hope that MrK's scan goes well. He has had numb fingers for quite a while and the physio said he needs a scan, but he has put it off for absolutely ages - thinking that it might improve with time.

The 20 Church Wardens is a lovely old fashioned pub. Am so looking forward to our meal - fingers crossed that husband isn't delayed at the hospital.

That is a lovely tale re your dog I bought a lab when my kids were a lot younger and found her too much for everything else that was happening in my life at the time and eventually had her rehomed . Always felt a bit guilty but she when to a 2 parent home with 3 active teenagers and they managed far better than I did . Which of course meant the dog had a better life too .
That was lovely that you were able to re-home your lab to a home better suited to a lively and demanding young lab. There is absolutely no need to feel guilty - but I am sure it is part of being a good human being that we do feel guilty at times like this.

I was very good yesterday, managed a two-mile walk, mowed the rear lawns, and only had a steak and some cabbage for dinner at 6pm :angelic:

FBG this morning at 0600 (12 hour fast)... 6.2 :arghh:

Think I'll go back to crumpets ;)

I had steak and salad last night and woke to 6.1 ( after bedtime reading of 5.0) I guess it’s the concentrated chunk of protein in a steak which may take longer to break down? Just musing really but I’ve seen a rise after steak before. I don’t regret it though, it was a great steak!

good morning all :)

4.6 today

it's a soggy looking morning here but at least it's not too cold ;)

I was going to go out and ask about the flu jab price today, my health practice says I'm not entitled to a free one yet since I'm considered 'in remission', but since I still have a bit of the 'lurg' so I'm going to stay inside and try to sort out some of my knitting wool (I may be some time :hilarious: ,) and then will start to use up some of the smaller bits making a few baby sweaters and cardigans to put in the Xmas charity shoe boxes over the next couple of weeks.

Hope your day treats you well :)

Morning all and thanks for your sympathy re daughter’s cat @gennepher @Debandez @HarryBeau . It’s a shame as her boyfriend works late most nights and Cat was perfect company for the evenings.
Glad for the slightly better nights sleep Gennepher and HarryBeau it does make such a difference to the day ahead.
Hope your oh’s scan went well @Krystyna23040 a good thing to have got it out of the way.
@dunelm thanks ever so much for posting that charity for old electrical stuff. We have about 3 old pcs which are stuck in our old loft as I have no idea how to wipe a hard drive so I’ve been scared to get rid of them. A daughter tried smashing the hard drive of one with a mallet but it was quite dangerous - mirror sharp fragments flying off in all directions so won’t try that again. Much better to recycle anyway.
So much garden type stuff to do today, I really should get on and do it not just sit with an empty coffee cup procrastinating. Mr C is starting to paint the kitchen, porch and dining room this week so I’d better take Dennis out of his way and do something useful.
Have a wonderful day all.

Sorry to hear you have "a bit of the lurg" and that your reward for being in remission is paying for a flu jab. What a star you are for knitting those useful clothes to put in the charity boxes. If there is any justice your lurgy will clear up and the practice will have a change of heart - always some who should have the jab who don't turn up.

I like this approach JJ it’s how I feel most of the time. Sometimes I’ve felt I should push myself a bit harder in life but on the whole I’m quite happy just enjoying the journey.
My middle girl is the opposite and pushes herself for perfection - which actually stresses me out! In her 1st year Nursing exam she got 98% the highest mark they’d ever had. Was she happy? No! She stressed about the 2 missing marks and where she could have made a mistake. Not healthy to be quite so obsessive I think.
Have a great day on your bike. Mr C has been trying for months now to get his old Triumph back on the road.

Yes, wiping the hard drive can be a bit of a worry so these folks, recommended in this months Which magazine, do wipe your discs according to the blurb on their web site: https://weeecharity.co.uk/services/data-wiping
It also asks if you want this done when you fill in the online form to book a collection.
