My father tells of a search and rescue operation, sadly they didn't find the missing persons, but did find a floating wine bottle in its distinctive woven basket.
 
Good morning everyone from a deliciously quiet start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of home made chicken soup with so low carb bread came in at 4.8 this am

Paper stuff - loads of accounts and other piles of paper to sort out. Now awaiting further treatment inside the incinerator. Best wait until neighbours have their washing out first though. Found a box of Saxophone reeds hiding amongst a box of cassette tapes. I gave them to a bloke round the corner from where we live - he has a bass and a soprano.
Down at the GP surgery this morning for a 0745 start - 1400 flu jabs to do by 1pm, fun and games all round.

Art - no idea, just messing about with colour and layers. Have a great day if you can. I must have some koffy.

The scariest government guideline is that if a member of your household has Covid-19 you just carry on as normal and don't self isolate. It is absolutely bonkers as you would be at very high risk of catching it.

I had to send a class member home last night who had a cold and a temperature. I have written a list of rules (guidelines) and the first rule is you do not attend if you have any virus - not just Covid. She said that it was just a cold, but I pointed out that if you are double jabbed Covid-19 often starts with symptoms similar to a cold.

I did feel bad about excluding her and I phoned her after classes and she was absolutely OK with it.
 
Continuous rain today in N.W. Cumbria with a heady peak of 11deg to keep us warm at lunch time.
Try to find some sunshine even if it is in a liquid form.

Talking of stuff in the sea:
Those who search beaches for dead birds find that the over whelming amount of footwear found has one particular side involved!

Try to explain that one! ;)

Yet prior Covid we were supposed to plod on/continue whatever we had. No wonder we were full of bugs and viruses. I was.

Now, before I go out I check my temperature, regardless of how I feel. And so far it has always been normal. I don't know if this is over the top or what.

Most likely high due to social event last night, food all unsuitable for LC.
The good news is that the opinionated neighbour has sold her house and will be departing forever within a couple of months.
This is a great relief as I will no longer have to walk the tightrope between her and another neighbour who she has also offended and who now refuses to even speak to her. This is the sad end of a fifteen year friendship.
It's such a small community, only five houses, I felt it was neccessary to remain on polite, apparently friendly terms with her, but now maybe I no longer need to be polite either... No
probably best to continue as we are. It's not as if we have a lot of contact anyway.

Yes my home made bread was delicious yesterday...just one more slice I said...
The rest has been sliced and is in freezer today.

I lost this little duck in the garden 10 years ago, but found it yesterday. It is wooden. So I gave it a little pond for a swim.

As young @garyclark82 , young sparrow me owl, says over there "we dust ourselves off and go again" just take the readings with a pinch of salt. Avoid other white crystals and powders, folks. Leave those for Ed Sheeran songs and marching Columbians, eh?. Hope the jabs go well @dunelm and absolutely best to wait for wash day to incinerate, bonfire as well, surely?. Glad the bread worked and you found Ted Drake @gennepher. A wise decision on the red card for the cold @Krystyna23040. Hope you avoid the deluge - that's what happens when Stuart White goes. An engineer will attempt to make our heating work again so I guess Julie will use our grandchildren and MIL as an excuse to send me to The Marshalsea. It is definitely being so cheerful as keeps me going.

A 7.0 this morning and one very happy meter this morning due to the amount of confusion it’s causing me and me’s.

No sure about today now, due to staying up till 2am binge watching that television series Vigil, spoiler alert “ the butler didn’t do it “ .

No problems, just felt I needed to take a break.
Had been a tough year, and the testing wasn't giving the best of results.

Pretty much a creature of habit, so hadn't meant to be away so long.

However know thyself, makes good sense.
I do have form.

Remember playing golf, became a golf bore for 3 years...then one day just stopped.

I hope all are well, will be back to posting
Once life settles back down for me :)

A win for me this morning.
Failed to force antibiotic tablet down Errants throat, even with the aid of a big towel. Having spat it out and escaped the towel Errant decided it was just what he fancied and scoffed it off the floor.
Hoping he will continue to enjoy them for the five day course.
