What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.0 today when usually 5s and sometimes 4s. The culprit me thinks is that piece of chocolate fudge cake I devoured on reaching my 40lb loss goal on Thursday. I had my hba1c blood test done that day and not due one for 6 months so had a bit of a mad moment. Or 2.... as I was caught with spoon in hand about 11pm tucking into another bit!!! You reap what ypu sew in this game!!!
Congratulations on reaching your goal debandez

Well Judith and I had are meal out yesterday lunch time and I ignored the rules and had a quite a few carbs including a desert so was pleasantly surprised to be 6.3 after returning home then after a light dinner was 5.2 at 2 hours then bed time was at 4.8 so thought great got away with it.

FBG on waking at 7 AM ? 7.6 oh dear :bigtears:

Morning all. 9 hours sleep and about 3 hours late taking FBG - 4.7. If only it would hold at that for the "missing breakfast" reading. I can't decide if it was doing all exercise outside yesterday or the rare G and T before bedtime which need to be repeated for the sleep - maybe both to be safe. Still, sun is shining brightly and my trusty lawn mower is back in full working order for only £20 so summer can resume! We will get rain here today but that is also good news as I don't have to pay to water asparagus, raspberries, strawberries and potatoes. As they say, it's all gravy :):)

5.8 this morning.

Had a curry last night but my sin was indulging in a half of a krispy kreme peanut butter donut... I know, lots of naughtiness in a chocolate covered ball

Well it was my birthday and I kept a close eye on my bg which was 5.9 before, 7.2 after 1 hr, and 5.1 after 2 hrs. It was worth it
Many happy returns.

good morning all :)

4.1 today

shot out of bed to the bathroom instead of rising leisurely this morning, lowest reading all week, go figure ;)
rained during the night but it's looking lovely and sunny now so I'm contemplating some gardening later when it's dried the grass. Enjoy your day everyone.

belated birthday wishes harrison

Mine was 8.3 tested after going down stairs and let dog out made a cup tea to drink after testing came back up stairs does it make my levels higher. Or lower i am new to this

it doesn´t make that great change, when you wake a dawn phenomenon takes place which raises blood glucose, but your number is still very high, since you are new I´d suggest you to count your grams of carbs in total in a day and stay under 150 grams of carbs to get numbers down to normal levels. after a few weeks on very low carbs your numbers would probably become normal then

Could wine in the evening make my FBG higher in the morning?

depends on how many carbs you ate with it and also on how much carbs was in the wine you drank, only the first little glass lowers blood glucose by blocking the liver some

Ah. Was thinking about the sugars but had not considered the carbs in red wine. That would definitely explain it. Thank you.
