Brilliant cars, easy to drop in 2.8 cologne engine with 5 speed. One of my best friends fabricated engine mounts and put a 2.8 into a mark 1 Escort along with wiring loom. I had customised mark 4's and 5'.

Good morning all.

@Ziggy2017 -- Hugs. Hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know what the HCPs at the hospital say if you decide to go.
@ianpspurs -- Just googled "my dario." Seems pretty nifty.

Fasting blood sugars today were 4.6.
Great fbg level @ziggy_w. I too googled my dario and watched some videos from their website. Need to customise their app as some parts don't suit me and can't yet see how to link it to fitbit. Strips are double the price of Tee2 so an interesting present.

6.0 today.
Yesterday I had a pint of beer -just the one. Proper real ale. Farmers Blonde (Bradfield brewery). My first pint of beer since August.
It was absolutely delicious. Nice to have a treat at Christmas.

over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
Morning all. No testing this morning partly due to investigating what Dario/MyDario monitoring system is all about. I was given that system as a Christmas present from my sons so would like to say I have used it and found it useful. Anyone on here have any experience of it?
Have simply spiffing days and pip pip old toots.
Pleased to hear I'm not the only one who gets medical apparatus as presents. Last year Santa brought me a blood pressure monitor, many thought that a weird gift , including my diabetes nurse. I thought it was FAB... I love a bit of data...

good morning all :)

4.5 today

might go out for a walk and some lunch since it's mild and overcast here :)

Must also continue the sort out of my wardrobe, now a continuous process it seems, since some things were ok even though they were a bit big after I lost weight, but, it all looks a bit random.

I have also been reluctant to part with the 'interim' stuff in case I put more than a bit of weight back on, that was the pattern of my weight loss for most of my life, lose some then put more back on :sorry:
Mr gee asked me how long I've been stable'ish' at the current weight and when I look back I've been within a couple of kilos of this weight for about eight months now :)

LCHF and the friendly support from mr gee and all of you here has changed my life, thank you all :)

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

The devices and data are obviously useful for people who know what the data means and how to use that knowledge. Can't help feeling the evidence shows I am not in that group. I am stuck on the information level of the data - information - knowledge continuum of bg management. Hopefully the blood pressure monitor has been useful for you.
@geefull great fbg as per usual. Really good to hear your weight loss/stabilisation news so sort that wardrobe out - just don't go into those woods and near that lamppost:angelic:

That's me to a tee! Bought a new pair of brand name jeans on the way down and only wore them half a dozen times before they were too baggy. It's ironic that I don't want to chuck them but hope never to wear them. I guess they serve as a useful reminder.

@geefull and @SaladDaze I have a pair of jeans I don't want to give away either. They were given to me by a new friend 6 years ago, I could get into them but not zip them. A couple of years later I could wear them. Last year they fit great. Now, after losing weight over the summer, they are too big. Hopefully they will stay that way since although I haven't lost any more weight yet, I haven't gained any back either.

@ianpspurs, I accurately rated your post "funny" which was as close as I could get to "faunny." :D

A nice low 5.7 for me this early morning, up before dawn again and turned on the Christmas tree lights in case any neighbors out there are having to drive to work in the dark.

Anyone seen @Cumberland and Banger?

Local charity shop had a mini bonanza when I cleared my wardrobe out of the clothes that no longer fitted and after losing 8 and a half stone that was most all I had some hardly ever worn bonus is I now can wear all the gear my grandson can no longer get into and he always bought designer clothes.:)

Must add he has been body builder for a while and is now too muscular to wear the clothes he has passed on to me.

Again like others i had that lovely 'wardrobe' issue.

Missus not impressed, with my 'hobo' jeans look on xmas night.

..not got much that ain't bikes jeans, suits or joggers.
( joggers was a no..one glare told me, bike jeans,,where a definite NO..suits pants looked awful AND uncomfortable.
so that left the one pair of jeans that were reasonable.

i just hadn't considered they wouldn't fit THAT way..
last time i wore them i retired them cos they was too small..LoL
Now if i left the belt off, i'd have looked like one of those gangbangers you see on the prison movies,
crotch around the knees and underpants fully on display..(not a suitable look for a near 60yr old gent..:D)

So belt firmly ON, new holes popped in and off we went, her looking glamorous as ever, and me playing the part of Worzel Gummidge from the waist down...Ho hum

the january sales just around the corner..might get me some new levis..

And the REASON we test......

Read someone else post (another thread regarding chip butties..)

Yes yes..i know ..but sometimes the heart/belly wants, what the hearts/belly wants..:D

late night, poor choices, so got kingsmill white , chip from chicken shop..(i KNOW..I'm WEAK..:arghh: )

Made butties, salt , vinegar, butter...delish..

pre test 6.1..post test 13.5.......................WHOA :woot::***::***::***: !!!

i didn't feel odd or different in any way...yet the score was SO High.

Suffice to say, it was a once year event ..IF that..lesson learned (tho i did know the expected outcome, before hand)
But if your NOT testing, like the docs say we shouldn't... how can you tell what affects you MORE and eat less of it..
and make BETTER food choices....??

This am FBG was 6.1..again.

I think if you look at a thing for long enough you get to know what it is for. Hopefully your present is of value, mine from last year gets used as a regular thing , just in case while I think I'm doing the right thing I might be able to do it just a bit better :)
