A lovely pic, and a marvelous story and inspiration to us all.

Bravo...and a Happy New Year to you and all my OLF's on the Forum.

May the new year bring you & and your families, as much joy & happiness as you could wish for...x

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:

“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.”

Happy New Year

Can't match you guys for your implicit knowledge of so much stuff...

BUT....this rings true.....

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We ARE going to survive!"

President Thomas J. Whitmore

I had to Google Thomas J. Whitmore. I had never heard of him before. But I never saw that movie, either.

That quote reminds me a lot of Dylan Thomas.Who also wrote:

All the Christmases roll down toward the two-tongued sea, like a cold and headlong moon bundling down the sky ...

Happy New Year all!

@Ziggy2017 you made it to later than me - 7.30pm bed for me last night, absolutely shattered!

@JohnEGreen first FBG of 2019 also a bit higher for me at 5.4. At least it leaves room for improvement!

Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday. Doc has ordered x-rays and a raft of blood tests.

Happy New Year prick-and-tell massive. Still on my end of season tour so no fbg but this tool @ziggy_w pointed me towards may be helpful http://www.burnfatnotsugar.com/TyGIndexCalculator.html
As it is US you need these values in mg/dl since this is a U.S. website. So, here's also a link to a cholesterol converter: http://www.onlineconversion.com/cholesterol.htm and a link to a glucose converter: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-converter.html.
Very useful for setting targets/seeing how the 2 work together. Mine was in normal range due to trigs more than bg so emphasised importance of both to me.

Thanks Ian. Used today’s higher than normal fasting reading and trigs from last blood draw and fell into the normal range.

FBG. After seeing in the new year with a top up of the 'Paddy' and raising a glass of Guinness to those sadly lost and very much missed,
was an honourable 5.7 on the Geiger counter...

( I rather think I'm going to live another Day..:) )

Have a good one, all :D

Morning...an horrendous day at work yesterday...finally got home at 11:30pm...follow up phone calls meant a 02:30 bed time...no work today:cat::cat::cat:...having my coffee & relaxing...woke to a fluke 4.9...I intend to put my feet up for the first day of 2019...Happy New year everyone.

Morning everyone started of the new year with a 4.4 and a slice of cold pizza for breakfast. Have you got any plans for today? We are not doing much but we are having a Christmas dinner for New Years :) still not feeling quite at myself but I won’t object to staying in and reading my new book I got for Christmas :) happy 2019 all:D
