What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

“But surely you need carbohydrates to run long distances?”
Anyway on a plateful of eggs, a strong cup of coffee and a litre of tap water I did my 15 mile road race.
Pretty hilly so I’m delighted with 2:04:21 and a split time at half marathon distance of a lifetime personal best.
Thank you for all the messages of support- I feel dead in my legs but warm in my heart.

Morning all. 7.5 this morning. A bit better than yesterday but still too high despite my efforts to eat low carb yesterday. I guess it will take a while to settle after my lapse the day before. Difficult to stick to my normal diet with a badly broken tooth! Have a good Sunday one and all. :)

When my teeth have hurt I have eaten mostly peanut butter, yogurt, and mashed potatoes, none of which I would want to eat much of now that I've been diagnosed T2, so I sympathize. (hug)

Good morning all on this very foggy day here I do hope it improves later
5.1 this morning which is well within my comfort zone
@trick60 enjoy your jolly in London get that wallet ready!
@OrsonKartt hope you manage to get the treatment you need for that chest infection
@Goonergal im convinced your meter is faulty or you have dodgy strips it’s clearly not what you are eating you don’t normally do ups on your bgs! Have you tested on your back up caresens duo?
@karen8967 enjoy the Chinese
@Debandez i find that if I get a rise from your normal bgs whatever the cause it can take a few days to settle I’m sure if you go back to the routine that works as you have it should settle.
Happy Saturday all hope it’s a good weekend and the fog eventually lifts
Thanks @shelley262. I've had so many functions and outings to work this woe around lately. Difficult at times. And trying to maintain which as you know is the hard bit. Hate going down even a pound. But will get there.

Morning- will chat more later but first I need to get to the start line for a 15 mile road race (running) this morning. This would have been unthinkable 6 months ago.
I’m weighing in at 83.3kg, 18.2kg down since May.
BG of 5.8 this morning so good to go.
Wish me luck - this is gonna be proper hard.
Hope it went well.

Hello all. Slept in, so late posting today.

Blood sugars up were 4.7 this morning.

As we are swapping wedding ring stories today -- no wedding ring troubles for me. When I gained weight after my marriage, I couldn't get my ring off at all. Now approximately back to my wedding weight and ring fits perfectly again.

@karen8967 -- A big hug from me. Blood sugars in the 2s are awfully scarry. Are you feeling any better now?
@rhubarb73 -- Good luck. Go show them!
@Ziggy2017 -- So sorry that you've been suffering with these chest problems for so long already. Must be a month already. Isn't there anything they can do to help you?

I have a wedding ring story to share. I lost 50 lbs. Rings too big. I'm married to a jeweller. The end :-)

Presumably you need a new engagement ring as well? And you shouldn’t be penalised for losing weight so the reduction in gold weight should be added to the diamond. That seems fair doesn’t it?

Thought I’d join in on the wedding ring stories - I’m allergic to mine! It’s white gold, same as my engagement ring which I’ve worn now for years but every time I wear it my finger swells, becomes itchy and sore. Suppose it could be worse - could be allergic to my husband :joyful:
