Thanks so much for your lovely wishes, @ianpspurs, @shelley262, and @jayney27. Will definitely report back.

By the way, the sun is out and we're expecting around 30 degrees, so we'll go "topless" today. Sometimes it's worth having a convertible, even in Germany.

@jayney27 -- Glad that they replaced the lid, wished all companies had that kind of customer service.
@shelley262 -- Greece sounds fabulous. I'm just a teensy weensy bit envious. Where are you staying in Greece?
Yes I was really surprised, is lovely when companies get it right, so many nowadays don't.

I'm in Scotland. We have an annual trip where we all meet up with my ex workmates and their OHs (we all got on really well together). Bath was the choice for this year's get together. We travelled all over the place for work but never really had time to see what the different venues had to offer. We're making up for it now. I was in Bath a few times for work and never saw a thing apart from the hotel I was in and the offices I was presenting in. There's about 16 of us go.
That sounds like a lovely trip! Have a great time

Hi @ziggy_w going to Island of Thassos and staying at a hotel on the beach about 20mins walk from Thassos town looks very tranquil!
Enjoy your few days away

Hello all.

The weather has been brilliant today. Sunny and 30 degrees. Probably the last bit of summer this year.

By the way, have given up on OMAD and a compressed eating windows. Also, have decided to quit abstaining from alcohol. These strategies didn't really seem to work well for me, as blood sugars were slightly up. Googled it and found out that fasting can raise cortisol and alcohol usually lowers it. Maybe, I am very sensitive to cortisol?

Anyway, test strips were delivered today at around 11 p.m. and blood sugars were noticeably lower today.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Lunch: Baby asparagus fried in olive oil. Some sliced lamb. Two scrambled eggs.

Dinner: A wiener sausage. Lamb's lettuce with feta cheese and a homemade dressing (Lime juice, mustard, erythritol, orange zest oil and olive oil). Two scoops of Oppo's vanilla ice cream with erythritol-sweetened whipped cream and erythritol-caramelized pecans.

Tomorrow, we'll be off to see Antwerp -- about a two-hour drive from here. Seems to be a very cool place, looking forward to it.

Interesting about the cortisol.
It’s cheered me up as I feel I ought to be trying omad as it seems a successful strategy for many, but the thought of it makes me glum.
Alao good about the alcohol. I drink a lot less than I used to when I was at work, but really enjoy a glass or 2 of red with my meal; happy now.

Have a wonderful time in Antwerp.

I bought a big rack of pork ribs today, for dinner tomorrow, but I’m overwhelmed by the choice of recipes available.
@Brunneria @maglil55 @DCUKMod do any of you have a favourite rib recipe for the IP please?
I’m not that keen on BBQ or smokey flavours.

@jayney27 fantastic news about your lid being replaced, it would never have occurred to me to ask.

I've used the same one as @Brunneria but Jennifer Banz had a good one too which unfortunately involves BBQ and smoke.

https://jenniferbanz.com/instant-pot-ribs

When I can't be bothered I just make up a rub with paprika, cayenne (not too much), garlic and onion granules, tomato puree. Rub it into the ribs and leave for a while to marinate. I use the whole bendy rack mostly. Chuck it in the IP when you're ready to cook with some stock. 35 mins quick release. I either pop them in a hot oven after, griddle or grill.

Erm,...... I just sort of wing it, with a dry rub, which is often sort if spicy or Cajun-ish, although I have also just done a lemon pepper rub too. The lemon pepper may be due to having really rather a lot of lemon pepper here.

Once they're ready to have a sauce on to finish off, I did an LC BBQ sauce, which I quite like.

Since I've had my vacuum sealer, I usually have some ribs, membrane removed seasoned and vac packed in the freezer. I bet @ianpspurs does his ribs in the sous vide.

Hi all. Serious catching up to do - haven’t managed to get back on since the forum went back online as work has been crazy and then this morning was one of those rare occasions when I woke up later than usual so instead of my usual 1.5 hours + of playing on forum/faffing time in the morning, had 20 mins to get out of the door for work.

@maglil55 empathise on the hands/eczema front. Similarly afflicted.

@Geoffno6 your mug cake issue made me laugh

@jayney27 glad the lid has been replaced

@shelley262 and @ziggy_w safe travels

@everyoneelse hope I haven’t missed anything significant!

Sunday: ended up as an impromptu OMAD day. Returned to walking football and ended up going for a coffee afterwards followed by shopping and just got distracted. Dinner was beef short rib followed by lazy dessert of extra thick double cream mixed with almond butter and 1 square Ghirardelli 92% chocolate

Monday: lunch was Lidl antipasto of salami and Parma ham, bag of pork crunch and 50g almonds. Dinner pre work event at Nando’s. 3 plain wings and plain leg. @Brunneria I successfully executed your ‘perfect way to eat chicken wings’ technique - very satisfying! Craving chocolate and had a 35g bar of Divine 70% from Starbucks. Way too sweet.

Today: lunch was smoked salmon and M&S whipped cream cheese followed by 30g almonds and 1 square Ghirardelli.

Mid afternoon snack of 12g Sainsbury’s 85% chocolate.

Dinner was chicken wings with Parmesan and pork crunch topping followed by dessert of extra thick double cream mixed with almond butter and 25g Montezuma’s Absolute Black with almonds.

Evening all. Haven't eaten this evening but thought I would post now as I have just read @DCUKMod's post. Normally, we do prefer ribs in the sous vide but I am genuinely determined to find some love for the IP - here's hoping.
Wakey Wakey : 3 pints tea
Breakfast : Swimming lesson
Mid morning: 2 pints tea
Lunch : Big salad with tin mackerel fillets in olive oil; chia seeds and psyllium husk - fibre needed;
Mid Afternoon: Pepsi max; Finished off Mrs Ps fluffy omelette from yesterday and had a chunk of bacon
Evening meal : Chinese style (very basic 5 spice and garlic powder rub) meaty bones cooked in IP on a trivet? of tomatoes, courgettes and mushrooms; kale crisps

Hi all
@Goonergal good to see you back - wondered if work too busy.
I’m back from mums - lousy journey back on M1 southbound today, two complete standstills due to two different lorry fires! Still just frustrating for lots of us travellers but back safe and sound.
Breakfast one each of bacon,egg and mushroom
Lunch four seeded crispbreads and hummus and a very small bit of lc lemon drizzle cake
Dinner salmon, cauliflower cheese and lemon butter and glass much needed red wine followed by raspberry clafoutis with cream and small piece 90% choc with coffee.
Going holiday clothes shopping in the morning ready for my holiday on Sunday and hoping to meet up with youngest son for lunch out.
