Bed 6 FBG 5.9. Back on the school run and although hands were clearing they've flared up again. So back to gallons of E45.
B. After the school run. Headed out to Dobbies and hubby bought me breakfast there. Americano together with a sausage, slice of bacon, fried egg, black pudding, 1/2 tomato and mushrooms. (Stayed well away from toast, beans, hash browns and potato scones!).
L. Nothing. Back on the cleaning (gloves on this time as I brought a box of 100 back from Lakeland - with other essentials). Hubby decided he didn't like the shoes he'd been looking at online at Hotter but found another pair. They didn't have his size so back to online but they're pretty quick delivering.
D. Had a bit of running about so ended up with both of us having the remains of yesterday's lamb chops with veggies.
We've got bad weather coming in. SIL & her Hubbys flight could be a bit bumpy coming in if the forecast is right.

Hi all
@Goonergal good to see you back - wondered if work too busy.
I’m back from mums - lousy journey back on M1 southbound today, two complete standstills due to two different lorry fires! Still just frustrating for lots of us travellers but back safe and sound.
Breakfast one each of bacon, egg and mushroom
Lunch four seeded crispbreads and hummus and a very small bit of lc lemon drizzle cake
Dinner salmon, cauliflower cheese and lemon butter and glass much needed red wine followed by raspberry clafoutis with cream and small piece 90% choc with coffee.
Going holiday clothes shopping in the morning ready for my holiday on Sunday and hoping to meet up with youngest son for lunch out.

Shelley - When I had reason to visit M&S on Saturday, it was the first day of their end of summer sale, with the sale items up to 50% off. One sweater and a(nother) linen shirt later.......

They had a lot of swimwear, as well as the usual linen stuff.

Glad you are home safely, sometimes motorway journeys are a complete lottery.

B: leftover roast chicken
L: leftover homemade beef kheema with coconut cauli rice
S: blanched almonds
D: roast aubergines with mozzarella, chilli, olive oil, lemon and parsley dressing

That all sounds absolutely delicious! I need to try curry spices again. I miss them! See how the ol’ guts react this time...

Monday
B: other half portion of coconut porridge from yesterday. My goodness how filling. Couldn't eat a full portion.
L: a piece of cheddar, coffee.
D: left over beef with stir fried cabbage, cherry and apple with LC crumble and cream.

Tuesday
B: Fage yogurt, raspberries, walnuts
L: bacon, sausage, egg, mushroom, coffee.
D: salmon, avocado, salad, mayonnaise., almonds, small piece Green and Black 85%.

Had intense water workouts both days, after missing 2 weeks. Blood glucose all fine, but have noticed when I miss breakfast fasting levels remain higher until after I have eaten.
Bad news is that 2 of the kg previously lost have found me again. Need to rethink.

@Goonergal haha! Well done! You will never gow back to gnawing! :D

In case anyone ele wants to know what i am blithering about (ignore the non-LC breadcrumbs!)

In this hacienda, we both just think, "Why" when considering chicken wings. Thankfully, in this age of bone broth/ultra-rick stock, the wings just go into the bag in the freezer where I save bones for the cauldron "stock pot". They all help with the gelling aspect.

Seem to be quite a few sales on. At the weekend I went to pick up an online order from Holland and Barrett. Arrived home several hours later armed with 2 jumpers, a pair of trousers and 3 long sleeve t-shirty things!

Evening everyone
Many thanks for your rib recipes @Brunneria @maglil55 @DCUKMod
I’m looking forward to trying them.
@Goonergal hope work calms down a bit for you, but maybe its just as well you’re so busy if it stops you buying more jumpers! I had a real jumper buying habit last year and have since had to give 1/2 to a charity shop because I didnt have room!
@shelley262 I sympathise with your Mway journey, my last couple of long trips were horrendous. Enjoy the retail therapy tomorrow.
Today I’ve had-
B: bacon and fried egg on a reheated DD naan bread ( was just like a potato farl, lovely)
L: Mushrooms stuffed with spinach, feta and pecans. Clotted cream and raspberries.
MAS: couple of gin and sodas!
D: IP beef stew with buttered cabbage. Brie and 5 seedy crackers.
Just had a few ( not counted or weighed, whoops) Callebaut choc drops.

If your butcher doesn't do it routinely (mine doesn't), just ensure you remove the membrane from the reverse of your ribs.

For anyone vaguely interested; In the latest Tesco freebie magazine, at the front is £1.50 off voucher for Breyer's ice cream. It's not for me, but them I'm probably just not normal (for Norfolk, or anywhere else).

I predict a run on Tesco magazines. ;)

Thanks for the membrane tip I’ll have a look before cooking. What happens if you leave it on?

Well, the membrane is a non-flexible, sinuous membrane. If not removed the ribs, if cooked as a rack the membrrane will shrinks, making the rack sort of curl, but also not be as tender or easy to eat.

If I have forgotten to remove it before I freeze the rack, I will almost always (unless time absolutely prohibits it) defrost the ribs before cooking, whereas if I remove it as soon as I get home, then season and freeze the rack, I'll happily put them in the cauldron frozen and let the magic happen from there.

Your butcher may remove it as a standard practise. Ours doesn't, but usually asks if I'd like it done. I went through a phase of asking him to leave it so that I could practise to get more confident doing it.

The membrane left on isn't a show stopper. I just find it much better to remove it.

Enjoy your ribs. I have a small rack in the freezer, and my OH is out at a dinner tomorrow evening, so I may just indulge myself.
