We don't even have 'horrible bright yellow dyed stuff', and I'd be happy to try it. As for the mackerel, I'll simply buy a whole smoked mackerel, as these taste much better than the smoked fillets, and clean it at home. Half of it goes in my fish dish, the other half will be turned into a salad with chopped onions, mayonnaise and whatever else comes to mind while I'm busy.I can't get smoked haddock either - except the horrible bright yellow dyed stuff. Don't suppose the smoked mackerel is any better really, but for some reason, I do buy it.
On second thought, I may need to buy two mackerels, as half of it usually disappears in a mysterious way while cleaning it...
