What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Friday 9 December (although all week I've been convinced it's a day later). Bed 6.9 FBG 6.2. 1/2 day Friday. Boys are definitely on the rundown to Christmas.

B. TAG

L. Don't know what you would call it but I didn't eat until 2.45pm. After school pickup and drop off son wanted to go shopping. Got to the Fort today as my eyes are more balanced now. On return, 2 slices of SLC toast - one with egg and bacon bits, the other prawns & Marie Rose.

D. Courgetti carbonara followed by a DGF Christmas pie *warmed and a little brandy cream.

Handy son going with me as he carried all my shopping in (I'm not allowed to lift anything heavy for a few weeks yet).

No breakfast, then a long drive taking some elderly friends for a weekend away.
L: a pastrami and cheese bagel. Was supposed to have sauerkraut in but never saw it. Came with coleslaw and side salad so I left 3/4 of the bagel. Coffee with milk as they wouldn't serve cream even though I offered to pay extra for it.
D: 2 glasses white wine before meal then small glass red with (won't be able to keep this up!)
1 mushroom stuffed with cheese and nuts, plaice with sauce and veg. Cheeses. 1 mint chocolate.

Late breakfast of smoked salmon and cream cheese in a LoDough wrap ( found at the back of the cupboard - quite a few months out of date but polystyrene seems to last forever!)
L- tuna salad. DGF cake
D- the perfect cold winter’s day to try @maglil55 ‘s feather blade beef recipe: verdict fantastic! I couldn’t believe how thick and rich the sauce became. Served with mashed swede and green beans (and the rest of the bottle of red that went into the dish). View attachment 58011
Wow!! That is great news that suede is low carb. It is one of my favorite vegetables, especially mashed with butter, black pepper and a small scattering of raw chopped onions!

I'll go find out what feather blade beef is called here,
It's called oyster blade here in Australia.

Some butchers shops take all of the fat off for some reason.

Three hard boiled eggs, two slices of toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Loin pork chops, mixed veggies, gravy for lunch. I'm
Ham and hot mustard sadnwiches for supper at six.

Small glass of single malt before bedtime.

My partner won a half ham in a xmas ham wheel raffle at the local servo, I'm going to slice it up and freeze it.

Keeping with a short window of eating time 6hours, since mid October, though not helping BG levels, I had late brunch (following an hour swimming session, and getting caught in a snow / hail storm) at 2:15 Pm, black coffee, mushrooms, scrambled egg, bacon.
black decaff coffee x 3 during afternoon, to thaw me out.
Dinner: chicken curry, made with coconut cream, cauliflower rice, mineral water, at 7:10 pm
Peppermint tea at 8:00pm.

Morning all. Fasting today till midday at least, longer if I can. My bgs are coming down nicely thank goodness. My slow cooker is coming out of hibernation as the weather is sooo cold. Have some chicken thighs, leek, carrot, sprouts and cauli, should be very tasty and warming. I've started drinking oxos and found them very warming too and they take the edge off hunger. I find I'm getting hungrier because I've cut down on the cream (think it's been causing lower body problems so testing my theory!) Have a warm and cosy weekend all.

Had 3 eggs scrambled with a few bits of bacon stirred in for breakfast.

Em phoned and asked if she could come for a visit (that will be all day until her dad finishes work) so I may have to change my plans for food today. I was planning to have a steak and mushrooms but she won't eat that for lunch. She might eat sausages and I have some already cooked, so they might make an appearance - possibly with baked beans for Em. Last meal will be sardines - perhaps on a slice of toast - that will be after she has gone home. She's in the shower at the moment so she might decide on something else for lunch once she's out of it, so it's all up in the air for now.

Em's decided on a melted Babybel wrap - nothing else in it. So I shall, eventually, have sardines on toast and leave the steak for later. I do have a Zoom meeting at 7.30 though, so I might be a bit pushed for time.

6pm dinner lamb stew. Red wine then yoghurt with berries.
Boiler still non functional ( engineer coming Tues) Wood burner out of action til January. So cold I’m having real carb cravings and keep eating nuts so stop me raiding Paul’s biscuit stash.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee
Late morning: black coffee and a Aldi protein bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a phd bar.
Dinner Chinese take away: crispy duck, 3 small pancakes, a smidge of sauce and veggies followed by SF blackcurrant jelly and cream.

Didn't get my steak cooked before the Zoom meeting. It is still ongoing but nothing important so I left them to it. Too late now to start cooking, so it will still be there for tomorrow. Really fancy the idea of steak with a fried egg for breakfast, but I don't know if I'll do it.

Diced up bits of ham in a two egg and cheese omelette, tomatoes, two slices of toast for breakfast.
Y bone steak, mixed salad for lunch.
Toasted cheese and the rest of the bits of ham sandwiches for supper at six.

Small glass of single malty goodness before a early night.

Sliced up and packaged the leg o ham, and put in the freeezer so we can just grab a couple of packets when we need it. Bones and the hock have been bagged up for pea and ham soup next year.

Struggling with poor appetite, I F six hour window, not hungry at all. Blood glucose levels are too high. Not just fasting but all day in 7-8s. Have had a few days of this.
First food at 2.15pm (apart from 2 cups black coffee) greek yogurt mixed berries, flaked almonds .
Dinner at 6:45pm home made tomato soup, topped with grated cheese, mineral water.
Decaff coffee at 8:00pm.
