What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Black coffee until 11:15
Brunch was an open omelette with chopped cherry tomato, feta and spinach chucked on top halfway through.
Mid aft a DGF cookie and a Montezuma’s absolute black snowman with a cup of tea with milk.
Dinner- lamb stew followed by frozen raspberries mixed with cream and h/m yoghurt to make a sort of ice cream. More tea.

@Goonergal that’s the airfryer I have. I’m pleased with its cooking ability but it’s a pain to keep clean, in fact I’ve pretty much stopped trying to keep the sides and back clean.
I think that’s common with all air fryers in this style. Part of the reason for replacing my old one was its dirty state, which was causing it to smoke a lot! I have some Elbow Grease and intend to keep this one cleaner.

Today’s food was Fage 0% and chicken wings coated in lemon pepper cooked in the new air fryer. Overdid the lemon pepper but successfully cooked! Also ate too much Hotel Chocolat 80% fruit and nut chocolate.

10ish a spoon of kefir with my supplements
12ish rest of smoked salmon with a few spoons of kefir
3ish DGF ginger cookie only one left in freezer now probably for the best !
5ish hm passata with venison meatballs followed by DGF low carb blondie warmed and served with yoghurt.
Busy day planned tomorrow decorating and reorganization of kitchen.
@Ifer welcome to the thread I didn't use an app when started five and a half years ago but found the diet Dr site really useful for understanding carb count of main things such as vegetables, fruits etc see

Many of their resources can be looked at without joining or you can trial for a month and then cancel if it doesn't suit your needs.
I also used the low carb programme on this site.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a food dr bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Phd bar.
Dinner: ribs with roasted veggies followed by SF blackcurrant jelly and cream.

@Ifer most of the apps do have UK foods, just preface the item with Tesco or ASDA (or any UK supermarket, these 2 are the shortest to type). Also make sure you've set as many of the settings as you can re measurement etc.
I used Carb Manager at first, then stopped once I'd learned. I'm currently trialling Cronometer as it measures more than carbs, but finding it a bit of a faff.

No breakfast as off for my hba1c at 10 am.
Came back with aura of a migraine, so salt, coffee, water and a dark room for the rest of the morning. Which worked.
L: hm lc veg soup witha sprinkle of blue cheese. Some leftover frittata which 30 seconds in the microwave improved enormously.
Took decorations down in the afternoon.
D: lc lasagne. Bottom layer was precooked savoy cabbage leaves, then mince, then sliced maasdam cheese, more mince, more cheese. Yummy. Served with broccoli and a little carrot.
Pud was a couple of spoonfuls brandy cream - which meant I've eaten an entire pot since yesterday lunchtime :sorry::bag::banghead::arghh: (one of these emoji must be embarrassment, I hope)

@Antje77, Lidl in UK have a Sweet Pickle similar to Branston, could they have it in Holland too?
Alas, no such thing as Branston pickles or fake Branston pickles here, it's just not a thing.
Good thing that it's quite carby so my one pot is lasting me a long time.
When it's finished I'll have a go at making something like it myself. :)

Another odd day (a good one again).
Swimming pool with slides, waves, inflatable climb-and-fall-off thing etc. with friend and her children and nephew was fun but exhausting, I had very much underestimated how many people would be there during the school holiday!
Nailed the diabetes part though, went in at 1pm at 6.2 and had half a low carb sandwich without the insulin right before (in fact munching on it while buying my ticket) and ended up at 4.2 when back in the car at 3pm so I had most of the other half of my sandwich while driving back, again without insulin.

We went to see the sea on our way back and did some more playing with kittens at my place before a spectacular burning of the christmas tree.

Too tired to cook so I had more low carb crackers, cheese, egg, cold sausage for dinner, with another piece of the amazing low carb chocolate tart my friend made for dessert. :hungry:

Same as yesterday - breakfast straight out of the fridge to the kitchen table, to avoid standing - Ham sandwich.
2nd meal will be another portion of the meatballs in tomato sauce.

Still difficult to move around so I am avoiding it as much as possible. I did think the extra pain was because I was trying to do exercises given to me by the physio and by Kirsty Wade (works for the council on the Move More programme). If that was the case, the pain should be muscular, but it isn't; it is in the bones (is that called bonular?) Having to cut back on the exercises at present anyway. I'm just a wimp!

@MrsA2 hilo was in usual place found it quickly thankfully. Hope your hba1c results are in range I'm due in a month or so and not looking forward to it as know that grief and stress have had an impact on my bgs over last 6 months although bgs seem to be settling down again to my normal so hoping this continues.
I have had a very busy day decorating and reorganising kitchen. Painting done but lots of sorting out to do.i always find it frustrating that the preparation for decorating and the sorting takes so much longer than the painting. Why do I have so much stuff!
Didn't eat until 2 as so busy just drank black tea and coffee
2ish toasted hilo slice of bread and served with two eggs fried in butter -good and more importantly quick followed by a decaffeinated coffee with cream and a treat of a baton of hotel chocolate 100% chocolate
5ish pork casserole -i put in slow cooker this morning and served with one small hm roast potatoe plus a reward of small glass of dry white wine. Planning to warm up a DGF brownie in a bit and have with a few spoons of yoghurt.

B - Benecol original (does not spike me yeh)!!! Handful of walnut halves
L - 2 rashers of bacon with chopped mushrooms
D - Cauliflower egg fried rice with chopped mushrooms, okra, asparagus and minced lamb.
Sugar free jelly for pudding with a smidge of cream.

For the first time since before Christmas, I actually had hm greek yog, seeds and berries at about 9:00 am. Strangely, stomach rebelled within minutes with pain and discomfort.

12:00 2 vegetarian sausages (8g carbs each)

4pm handful walnuts, half a pot brandy cream (can't bear to throw it away so eating it quickly - not a strategy I'd recommend)

6pm a bit of cheese

No breakfast as back to PT in the park after about a month off. It was horrible and I know I’ll struggle to walk tomorrow!
Lunch- one of the new DGF wraps which arrived today. I really liked it. Texture just like an ordinary flour tortilla, taste was good - There was a hint of coconut as coconut flour is an ingredient, I know this won’t suit all tastes but it suited me. Filled it with chicken ( fried in coconut oil) chilli mayo and salad. 1.3 carbs each so this will definitely be a staple for me. Going to try it as a pizza base tomorrow.
D- beef short ribs ( recipe from kicking-carbs.com and on my CMT) we are doing dry January so I chucked a leftover 1/2 bottle of red in. Roast cauli and a baked mushroom with it. IMG_1661.jpg

The day didn't go as planned. Breakfast was a ham sandwich, as already said.
We had a planned power outage from 1400 to 1600 which would have meant there was plenty of time to heat ready-made food. However, 4 pm came and went and there was a phone call to say power would be restored by 6 pm. Then at 6 another one to say it would be 7 pm. Just after 7 there was another phone call which was totally unintelligible but I assumed they were putting it back again. It came on at 7.15 by which time Em had been in to tell me that her mum was going to town to buy chips and things for everyone in the absence of any way of cooking dinner.

Fish and chips arrived - looking wonderful after so long without. I started eating the fish (without the batter) and off went the lights! I had to feel around to try to find where I'd left the torch - found my Libre monitor and turned it on to give me a bit of light, found the torch to show me where the switch for the lantern was. That gave me a dim light to see what I was eating.

After another half hour, the lights came on again. Then off again. Then on again. Now still on, but will it last?

During this time, we keep receiving phone calls from the power company telling us they are working on it, but there have been unforseen problems. About half an hour ago there was one apologising and saying our power would be restored by 10 pm. It is currently on anyway. Then, a few minutes ago there was another call saying that the previous message was wrong and they now expect to restore power shortly after midnight. Expecting it to go off again any minute. This is all after a letter was sent about a fortnight ago to warn of the power cut, then another was delivered today, identical to the first. Some people have received 3 identical letters. Sometimes all delivered together. Administration seems to be a weak point as does their ability to fix whatever the fault was.

Edited to sort out mixed up offs and ons.

4 January - bed 6.8 FBG 6.2 Dragged myself out of bed for the school run (but son came too as the only family member totally healthy). You're correct @Annb , this is the bug from hell. I did improve as the day went on yesterday but, this is a very up and down bug. Hubby has had this 3 weeks now and I'm not far behind.

B. Just TAG

L. A HiLo loaf arrived with my Sainsbury's delivery so, a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, prawns and Marie Rose sauce. No looking on the low shelf either - I'd probably fall over!

D. Back to a wrap again. Prawns needed using so I filled it with lettuce, tomatoes, prawns and Marie Rose.
CC little chocolate pot.

A very early night!

I found @maglil55 favourite little chocolate pots in lidl today. In taste they are very similar to the chocolate and raspberry ice cream recipe fro Keto Fitnees Club that I have on my cmt. Just leave out the raspberries and don't freeze to give a mousse. Makes much more than the little pots, and for less money.
Freezing some does stop me eating too many at one time

Two hard boiled eggs, two slices of toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Savoury mince and onion, mixed veggies for lunch.
Pot of mre pea and ham soup, two slices of toast for supper at six.

Glass of my favourite Laphroaig single malt I got for xmas.

Made an appointment with my GP yesterday morning, I asked for a phone appointmentand and got in same day at 4:00pm. Increaced my Fentanyl and Oxycodone patches and tablets. She has faxed a blood test request in to the pathologist I go to, I will go down later this morning and get them done to see what's happening.
