What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Well I never! I haven’t heard of this, I’m going to wait until someone else on here tries it first. The thought of liquidising chicken, even once cooked is something I’d have to take a very deep breath first to do. ( I don’t make pate often for the same squeamishness)
It's an Odd looking thing. I'm sure it won't surprise you to learn that I have "liquidised" chicken. I did it Christmas 2021 to make sesame chicken toasts (same idea as sesame prawn toasts), but mine were made with SRSLY LC bread. The raw paste doesn't look the best, but it tastes great when cooked! It's also very low carb compared to the Thai restaurant version, and my son/grandkids inform me it tastes just as good.

Went for a reflective hike today and came across some lovely sun dappled snowdrops so changed avatar to one of my snowdrop photos hopefully the spring bulbs will emerge more soon although it's dropped very cold just.
Can I join in the plates competition please @DJC3 and @Antje77 ! But don't get ideas about swapping with these ones @Antje77 even though I really like your cat plate my plate today is sentimental I bought a set of royal worcestershire poppies dinner plates for my mum 20 years or so ago and they passed to me when she died a few months ago. When they were bought from the factory shop pottery was still being produced in Worcester nearby to me but it closed in 2008 so royal worcestershire no longer made in Worcester. Lovely reminder but i try to treat them with care.

1ish two eggs and mushrooms on low carb toast followed by portion of kefir
5ish steak, halloumi fries, salad and sauerkraut with two glasses of red wine. I'm sat enjoying the 2nd glass but later will warm up my usual Deliciously Guilt Free Low carb cake warmed and served with yoghurt. I may also finish off my last two squares of the rest of the 90% chocolate bar I overate yesterday!

Sunday 5 January - bed 6.4 FBG 6.6 (Still a few 4's kicking about). Swimming lesson day. Youngest decided after yesterday that listening to me was probably a good idea. He did listen too. There's two bigger boys in his group that he really does not like, and they push him out of the way to pass him in the lengths. I advised him to ignore them, do not get involved, and just focus on the stroke you are doing. If you need to pass, move to the other side. He went out 4th, did as I said, and, on the 3rd lap (to his delight), he had overtaken all of them and was 1st. He remained there too!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY LC toast with coronation chicken

L. CC Little chocolate pot (on return from swimming)

D. Usual campari and soda. Beef stroganoff (tried and tested Rick Stein recipe, not the Diet Doctor version) with cauliflower fried rice for a change. Worked well.

Busy week coming up. Physio tomorrow, gardeners arriving (weather permitting), school runs still continuing, back to an Aqua class on Thursday and an early jaunt to the Eye Pavilion on Friday for post op verdict and, hopefully, a push up the operation list. 20230205_182144.jpg

Coffee and cream x 2
Cottage cheese and tomatoes.
Kipper and butter. Few cherry tomatoes.

Yesterday's meal at social event wasn't bad carb wise. It was help yourself to rice and French bread (I didn't) then served witha ladle of chicken in a sauce. Not sure what was in it but didn't taste too sweet and and quite a bit of chicken in it.
Dessert was a cheese platter so I had 3 small 15-20g pieces.
There was however a lot of wine.
I did keep mine watered down with soda water but the measures were large.
Lots of dancing was done.
Bg this morning, a nice flat 5.0
But no, I can't dance for 3 hours every night. Was so tired this morning.

Did however manage 3 hours gardening before a lunch
Of 2 seedy flatbreads ( m&s ones at 5g carbs each) with camembert and a spoonful of coleslaw
2 sqs 85%

Dinner: roast lamb, green beans, broccoli and small carrot. 1 sq coffee cake with coffee ice cream

I actually have a week coming up with no social events that involve food (except the obligatory glass of wine at book club).
Reckon I can go nuts, dairy and alcohol free for 7 days? I'll struggle to give up cheese, and cream in my one daily coffee but trying to lose a few pounds. Will you all support me and comment if I'm going off path please?

I love poppies so your plate gets double stars! I have my mum and dad’s wedding dinner service. I love it but daren’t use it as I’m worried about breaking a piece.
Also love the new avatar. The hope and optimism which comes every spring with snowdrops, whatever the winter has thrown at us, is very cheering.

I’ll happily support you do you usually track food and exercise? If I’m going off piste I find that helps me get back on track. I used to do it religiously but it’s so easy to let things slip a bit. We’ve all been there and you will get back on track.

This morning black coffee until around 11:00
Brunch- 2x Coop “irresistible” pork chipolatas (1.1g carbs) 2 fried eggs.
Linner- DD Crispy Cuban Pork ( Lechon Asado) with various roast veg - mushrooms, red pepper, cauli, broccoli, sprouts, red onion.
Way too much wine, so even though I was full - some cheese to follow then a DGF cake after that.

Of course you can, we could have a big WHYET plate swapping party.
I propose we fill the plates before swapping them as well so we can first have a food tasting and then we'll all go home with different plates! :joyful:

@Annb , you were right!

Cauliflower leaves are a very tasty vegetable. :joyful:
I boiled them in pieces, and added some fried mushroom and a spoonful of cream cheese after draining.
Can recommend!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Tea at ILs: cold meat, cheese and salad buffet followed by one Jaffa cake!

Morning all. Beautiful day here, hope it's the same for you. I'm feeling really good today, I did yesterday too. Got jobs done that have been piling up. Pensioners lunch today. So I'm taking some hm crackers (Katrin-Sugar free Londoner) with cream cheese for afters to have instead of the sweet. Now I've started Omad I want to keep it up and eat with care. For my tea, either the piece of cheese or a slice of ham. Have a good day all
