Every other day, I make porridge with 40g of rolled oats and 180 ml of skimmed milk. This morning, my fasting BG was 5.6 and two hours later it was 6.0.
As many people here recommend avoiding porridge, I have two questions:
1. Would my medication help keep my BG level down so it didn't spike...
Hi, I’m a newly diagnosed T2D and wondered how you all measure your blood glucose level (and whatever else needs measuring), can you get hardware and app for your smartphone?
Thanks
I've recently been quite ill, a restaurant fed me something I was intolerant to despite telling them about it and I spent a while recovering from that but went to a comic con anyway over the weekend and managed to pick up a fluey type bug with some diarrhoea and lots of sneezing...which is fun...
Hi all. I am type 2 which is managed by medication. Starting just under 3 weeks ago I started recording weight loss. I have lost about 5kg now without any changes to routine or diet. On top of that, my GP picked up ketones in my pee while she was looking at something else. I got some KetoStix to...
Hi! For several months now I have been experiencing severe nausea and really bad headaches. I have had every test going re the nausea and everything came back clear. I have chronic migraine so the headaches were put down to that and I have been referred back to my neurologist. I also have...
It's a very interesting study. What do you guys conclude? I think that taking dates/raisin/sugar snack containing 15g of carbs 2 hours after a breakfast and not affecting blood glucose is probably because they had some already secreted insulin levels after their breakfast that helped remove the...
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a fantastic early Sunday.
To provide some context, my wife has been on a keto diet for several months now, we use to use finger prickle and then moved to Freestyle libre 2. In the beginning, we use both measurements, however after finding a significant...

As soon as he applied the sensor, his finger prick blood glucose level rose and remained high for a the full week he had the sensor attached to his arm. Even his...

I was recently told I have type 2 diabetes after getting my blood and urine tested. Since then I have started taking metformin twice per day. What I was wondering is my Doctor showed me on her monitor that my my blood sugar was 82 in a red box. What does 82 mean and where would that put me on a...
I have prediabetes and I've been on keto for about 6 months now (recently on Carnivore and OMAD as well). I have already experienced some improvement, though not enough. Yet, there's a particular trend on my BG that does not seem to go away. Whenever I eat a meal, even if there's a good amount...
I am aware (thanks to this forum) that a flu or a cold can raise BG. But for how many days/weeks one should expect higher or erratic BG after the cold or flu symptoms have disappeared?
My BG was finally showing values below 80 mg/dL after months of effort (carnivore/no carb/low carb/moderately...
Hi,
I've just started my first 36-hour fasting attempt. So I've decided to check my BG out on specific points.
My very first meal of the day had 7g of carbs, I finished it at 2:00 P.M. The second and last meal before fasting had 4.4g of carbs and it ended at 6:00 P.M.
I checked my BG at 7:00...

I've had diabetes for more than 25 years. I am always changing my eating habits, and take my insulin shortly before my meals in most instances, and always circulate my injection locations (short-term in stomach, long-term in butt).
For the past few months my morning insulin doses have not been...

Hi fellow diabetics
I’ve just had my latest hba1c result and while it’s good and much better it’s not as good as I thought it might’ve been yet I feel I don’t have any options to take with it next.
At this point last year my hba1c was the highest it had ever been 62/7.8%, this brought me to...
