Hello!
I am popping on here to share support to you all and to say thank you! My name is Natasha I am 45 years old 5 foot 11 and 77kg and live in the UK and work as a music photographer.
Last year I had the most awful summer with debilitating pain in my side for months! I tried several times...
Hi, I’m new to the forums. I was diagnosed T2D in October 2019 when my A1C was 5.4, I was never put on any medication and tried to changed my diet and lifestyle before my next review appointment which never happened because of lockdown. I did get my A1c checked again in July 2020 and it had gone...
Hi Fabulous People
So lucky to have a forum full of support like this. It has been lovely reading everyone’s threads. I hope to be able to help in the future too.
My name is Claire and I am 36.
I found out this week I’m diabetic; they think T2. Thanks to my genes and lockdown sugar habit we...
Hi, I’m just about to start Novorapid injections to help whilst I’m on steroids (Prednisolone). My doctor has said to get my levels down to 10 to start with (with every 3 points it needs to come down as 1 unit of insulin). My question is I test before my meal and is that when I inject, or do I...
Hi all,
I've been a little on the quiet side as I've been just focusing on managing my T2, I'm still in remission, 2 years since diagnosis now, but this Coronavirus pandemic is now REALLY starting to trigger me, a LOT.....
I was OK at the start, I've been focusing on lockdown and keeping...
This is an extremely relevant interview between Dr Robert Lustig and Dr Aseem Malhotra.
Towards the end it even briefly covers the science as to why 'you can't our-run a bad diet'.

Eran Sagal in a TEDx talk shares his research study on 1,000 (healthy) people over 1 week.
Although this is from July 2016 I had never seen it before, but it matches with the collective experience of us T2 Diabetics - that there is no single best diet for everybody.
This is a fantastically useful and helpful place, thanks to you all.
Picked up my blood test results today which look like a good start.
HbA1c was 81 on the 9 March 2020 (the results were given on the 23 March when I was formally diagnosed T2 and started Metformin, etc).
Then it was still 70...
I have had T2 for over 30 years (originally gestational) and my bloods have been well managed. However over the last year they have gradually risen and now sit at 66. I have taken metformin 500ml x 4 daily for years. My doctor has recently started me on glicazide due to the HbA1c rise. I have...
(I posted this in the Type 2 forum but think it should have been here)
Hello all, new person here (though reading from the shadows for a while).
One of the things I've been a little unsettled by since T2 diagnosis in March (HbA1c of 81) was what to do about my long-term habit of making my own...
Hii everyone I am 19 years old, kinda active and of relatively normal weight. I have always had good health and a stong immune system but upon going to uni I got glandular fever/mono and I have had this for a couple of months and the doctor said come back as it may be anemia. However over the...
Hi guys,
I recently read about reversing type 2 diabetes with Professor Roy Taylor, and I'd really like to go about doing this, but I am struggling with working out what diet shakes were required.
In the book, He does not name any particular brands, he just mentions that they should be...
Hello all,
I am a 59 year old male and was diagnosed with T2 diabetes in Sept 2014. I was put on Metformin and HbA1c went down to 62 to 65, but not further. After diagnosis I was eating a healthy diet, no more fizzy drinks, lots of fruit and veg, few sweets, but I like pasta, potatoes and...
(New to forum - not yet fully on top of common abbreviations etc)
I had the news that I have type 2 diabetes on Monday, in a phone call from my GP after a routine blood test to check on effects of my BP meds. She said I also have high cholesterol, and put me on statins straight away, but wants...
Hi all, (bear with, it's a long post, but I hope it helps)
I just wanted to give a quick shout out for any and all those that have been newly diagnosed with T2 diabetes – DO NOT PANIC, IT’S GOING TO BE OK…..honest! :)
I'm not preaching, I'm not 'fixed' and I know I can't get rid of T2, but I...
Hi everyone
I don’t have diabetes but have a very strong family history of T2 in 2 first degree relatives
I would be considered at risk, aged over 40, raised BMI and lots of steroids due to asthma!
Really keen to decrease BMI and risk of T2 using LCHF approach
Can anyone recommend any LCHF...
It has been a looooong and gruelling clay and grass court season and during that and at the behest of Media centres around Europe - my BG has been on the up and is annoying back in double figures at the moment.
Not helped by body caving in to a cold literally the day after Wimbledon! I dropped...
Listen to the first 30 mins of this interview to hear Dr Jason Fung explain what Diabetes is REALLY caused by and why an LCHF diet can reverse it and enable weight loss.

Hi! (warning for long read ) ;)
Great forum/site. Thank heavens for that.
Diagnosed 3 weeks ago. Was shell shocked. Read that is normal. Went to Dr because I hadn't had a GP for 25 years living overseas - they don't have/use GPs there - just clinics. Moved back home again. Since not...
