What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: 25g almond meal, 10g coconut flour, 30g protein powder, 10g flaxseed made into porridge. 100g greek yoghurt. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, half to make porridge with, other into the mornings coffee's.
Lunch: 200g iceberg lettuce, 100g ham, 27g tasty cheese full fat, 30g dill pickle.
Dinner: 2 beef sausage (no fillers), 170g green beans, 270g cauliflower.

Just had today's meal - vegetable hash with eggs. The vegetables (half a small butternut squash, a medium courgette and half a medium sized onion) were fried in butter, as were the 2 eggs. It was quite a large lunch, but I don't want to get too hungry later and I figured that amount would be reasonable.

I have to go out this evening, and this is when I get into trouble quite often - to get to the children's class venue, I have to walk further than I would consider doing normally (most people wouldn't consider it any distance at all but it takes me all my time and energy and I often end up the evening with a hypo, or at the very least not able to drive home (I would be illegal). So I think I will probably have to eat something to keep BG up to about 7 just before I go out, if I can. That way, I shan't drop too low. But I'll have to be careful: if I get it wrong and overdo it, BG will shoot up and could make me feel unable to drive anyway. It's a pain, don't you agree?

Hi All
Today I have had a slice of Livlife toast with thick butter and tea x2 for breakfast. Lunchtime I was in a rush so had an instant coffee with milk and another slice toast with Whole Earth crunch peanut butter (my fave). Did loads of leaf raking/sweeping today so hope that helps things. There are still so many to comedown this will be going on up to Christmas at this rate. More than half are from neighbouring trees :banghead:
Saw my fish man and mussells off this mornings boat tonight so moules avec frites for OH and sans for me done the French way of course. Got fish pie mix for Sunday so all good. Will share a bottle of Cremant with the moules.
Hope those of you up the country are safe, dry and warm.

Hi all. Seriously behind and haven’t caught up with the backlog of posts, so hope I haven’t missed anything too important.

Eating habits have been going more than a little off the rails recently, so today was day 1 of reeling things back in a bit. Assuming I don’t do my usual trick of eating more after posting than before, it has been a success!

Lunch was 2 fried eggs, 4 rashers bacon and some grated cheese.

Dinner was garlic and Parmesan wings at the place near work. Totally addicted - and they’ve noticed. The manager came over and gave me a voucher for 8 free wings next time I’m in.

Off to mums this weekend so will hopefully do catch up when back on Tuesday.
Breakfast one slice of bacon, egg and half a toasted chaffle
Lunch cheese, walnuts and celery
Mid afternoon one of lemon drizzle cupcakes from the batch made yesterday
Dinner salmon and lemon butter and green beans with glass dry white wine - some 100% choc planned later with decaff coffee
Found out today that aunts funeral not happening till four weeks today! Almost five weeks after her death - seems like a long time! As it’s only a week before we would have been up to pick up mum for Christmas I’ll be hoping to persuade mum when see her this weekend that she could save us yet another long drive and come back with us after the funeral! Let’s see..... her area in South York’s has been very very wet last day or so so hoping flood waters from river Don will have gone down when go up this weekend!

I'm counting today as an unplanned OMAD but YMMV. B= HIIT, water and tea. What would have been L was an almond milk latte - do I really count that? Eve = salmon (crispy skin), mushrooms and Milky's hallum fries - British, lower salt and carbs (http://www.milkys.co.uk/milkyshalum.asp) . I will probably have some almond milk cocoa (Aldi LC) later - is that really a meal? Unplanned as I decided to go see youngest granddaughter then on to Thetford - 3 county journey and 3 distinct flora and fauna zones. @shelley262 hope the journey and especially your mum's area is not affected by heavy rains and flooding.

Evening all. I’m disappointed with myself today, didn’t really go off the rails but ate more than I intended.
B: Ham and eggs
Missed lunch but had a handful of almonds and a slice of cheese around 3:30 then about 15g Montezuma’s Absolute black.
Few more nuts ( almonds and pecans) grabbed now and then up to dinner time- should never have started on them.
D: Coconut chicken curry with wilted spinach. Cheese and 2 glasses red wine.
Good luck persuading your mum to come back with you @shelley262 I hope she hasn’t been badly affected by the flooding.
@Goonergal what a great freebie your 8 free wings!
@PenguinMum enjoy your moules. I also bought a bottle of Cremant today, when I was in Lidl looking for the cheese advent calendar ( couldn’t find it)
Today would have been my brother’s birthday so I bought tins of his favourite baked beans and rice pudding ( he had terrible taste!) and donated them to the food bank in his memory. I miss him.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cheesy scrambled egg and a leafy salad followed by Greek yoghurt, strawberries and macadamia and coconut keto granola.
Mid afternoon at Nero’s: coconut cappuccino and a b’day cake Phd bar
Dinner: Bbq chicken drumsticks with cauliflower and broccoli salad, coleslaw and pork scratchings followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

I managed it - my meter packed up (needed new battery) so I couldn't check before I came home but when I changed the battery at home, it measured my BG at 6.2.

@DJC3 and @Penguins223 totally agree about stuff for Xmas. I usually try to buy useful or consumable items. But this year there will be homemade pickled walnuts and Apple chutney. Both apples and walnuts are from our own trees. If i had thought about it sooner could have made blackberry jam. Or mint jelly.

Weight has dropped to 47.7kg.

Breakfast: coffee with cream, 2 slices of pain kapnor toast with peanut butter. More coffee with cream.
More coffee.
Lunch: soup de Poisson. Small piece of baguette with ham and tomato. An apple. The Apple was wonderful. Fragrant, juicy and flavourful. Totally unlike any in the orchard. We might need to plant a Chanticlerc tree.
Several chunks of emmental cheese and a cup of tea. Dinner was chicken casserole, sprouts. No potatoes and only Few carrots. We had the rest of the cheesecake topped with raspberry crumbs. Glass of white wine.
Estimated carbs for dinner 25g. Well pleased with that.
Tea and then bedtime tea.

Breakfast: Usual low carb porridge with 108g greek yoghurt.
Lunch: 200g iceberg lettuce, 100g ham, 20g tasty full fat cheese, white pepper, mustard.
Snack : 51g dill pickles
Dinner: 270 fresh cooked cauliflower, frozen green beans 170, 250g extra lean beef burgers, baked in oven, binder was one extra large egg. Will eat the other 250g for dinner tomorrow.

For some reason fresh cauliflower is always nicer then frozen. I got half a large cauliflower for $1.80. That's a good deal down here, dill pickles were also on special and I managed to open the jar first go. Pickle jars are always difficult to open.

Homemade gifts are the best. I’m making the chocolate granola for all my daughters, whenever I’ve made it in the past it they’ve all ended up pinching most of it! I’ve bought some lovely Kilner storage jars to put it in.

Hello all,

@shelley262 -- Have a safe trip up to your mum's house.
@DJC3 -- Hugs for missing your brother. Agree with @Goonergal, what a lovely way to remember him.
@DCUKMod -- The yoghurt is awe inspiring. Does the spoon really stick in there? Thanks also for the tip using the SV for infusions. Never considered it would work for this.
@maglil55 -- Wonderful that the new TV finally arrived. I remember your saying that it was a bit larger than originally intended. Should be lot's of fun watching movies on it.
@DJC3 -- For the ox cheeks in the beef broth-red wine-tomato sauce-onion sauce, I set the sous vide stick at 80 degrees and it ran for about 8 hours, to be honest it needed a bit longer than this. Then transferred everything into a regular pot the next day and gave it another half hour at a slightly higher temperature. Came out perfect.

Hardly slept at all last night, so guess that's why blood sugars a bit higher today again, but not as bad as on that day last week.

Today's food ...

Very early breakfast: Two half DD keto rolls with mayonnaise and gouda. Later (after my husband got up) two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Lunch: A bowl of beef vegetable soup. Two small squares of 85% chocolate (about 7g).

Dinner: A small serving of the ox cheek in sauce (all gone now). One glass of red wine.

Now leaving to go to the local jazz club. Googled the band on youtube. Should be good.

Yes, ziggy - The spatula just stands there, unsupported. That's with semi-skimmed milk, although I did add a spoonful of powdered milk to it. It gets almost solid when made with whole milk. I rarely do, as too much fat at brekkers can trouble my tummy, so semi-skimmed or (if I'm trying to gain weight) half semi-skimmed and half full milk.

I haven't ever tried making flavoured yoghurt, but I bet the SV process could the infusion process for that too.

Evenin all (well it is Saturday and George used to be on duty then) Strange day. Badly blistered feet from cooking. Pierce lid and stand in boiling water for 20 mins- pah. Food ya say? B=tea. Tasted, comte, lemon black cheese (gorgeous), olives, garlic an tings at a market then had a latte in a supermarket we rarely visit:angelic: L= skinny bread toast and Brussels pate - very pleasant but I realised I will never, ever again eat anything just for pleasure. Evening cheese on toast with tommy k, CCB and almond milk cocoa. Would have had something else for evening but watched a Christmas film, no lights just firelight. Anyhow, goose for Martinmas tomorrow (yes, a day early) allegedly Advent once started then. Christmas gifting in the P family this year is apparently handled by this https://www.elfster.com/secret-santa-generator/event/

Evening all. Lovely day out in Cambridge with old friends and colleagues.

Lunch was ribeye steak with a fried egg.

Some of the group went to watch Cambridge v Blackheath rugby while I and another had a river walk to Grantchester followed by a cup of tea and 40g pot of clotted cream before walking back for a pub rendezvous.

Dinner was a bunless bacon cheeseburger with mayo and grilled onions at Five Guys before heading for the train home. Just downed a tea with cream on the train.

CWC first thing then TWAM until
Lunch: Avocado and a tin of mackerel in olive oil. About 30g Montezuma’s Absolute Black afterwards - too much as it turns out, I get a tummy ache if I eat more that 15g or so. That’ll teach me ( no it won’t!)
Dinner: Lamb chops, roast sprouts and Halloumi chips. 2 glasses red.
@ziggy_w the ox cheeks sound delicious, I know very little about sous vide cooking but I thought it’d take a lot longer. Hope you have a better sleep tonight. How is the jazz club these days? I remember you saying you’d been ‘volunteered’ as the chairperson of the committee or something along those lines?
&Goonergal steak and eggs has long been a favourite meal of mine, glad you enjoyed your meet up with old friends.

Did you visit the fragrant Lady Mary and Lord Archer whilst in Grantchester?
