Breakfast. Nut Granola, CWC, Scrambled eggs.
Lunch lettuce, radish and cucumber, red cabbage and Apple coleslaw.Ham, blue cheese.. water and tea to drink.
Snack two slices of emmental.
Dinner. Was intended to be chicken casserole, but changed my mind and roasted the chicken legs instead. Roast celariac for me.potatoes for him. Cauliflower and brocolli, few carrots.pan juices for gravy. Large glass of rosé. And another. Bad idea as it leads to Late night snacking. More emmental.
Bedtime tea.
We now have radish and lettuce just about ready to eat. Two days we will have finished the shop bought and start on home grown. Must put in another row of radish. Have finished digging another, smaller area for more veggies and am now considering if further expansion is neccessary, or possible. Given that the ground is drying out quite rapidly. Would be a lot of work. Still it keeps me busy and is good for the BG if not so much for the shoulder.
Meanwhile we are out of bread, i did find the bicarb, for baking soda bread, eventually. But have decided to ride to the nearest town on my bike - as part of the preparations, except that I don't have an attestation. There are only ones with MrSlims name and details left. Altering a printed document looks so messy, but it's either that or wait for him to get up.
We could manage for several more days without venturing out, if I really tried. If I did attempt baking soda bread.
However that still l!eaves the unanswered question. Would shopping by bicycle be practical? It needs to be tried out.
Edited for typo

I keep having periods of time (2 or 3 days at a time often) when my BG is high, then it drops down again for a day or so and then up again. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
Seems to be a lot of that happening at the moment. Difficult to work out the reason. Could be eating more, stress, less exercise, illness - as you rightly say who knows?

I sometimes use Nando's if I can get it but I make my own too. You can scale it up and it keeps for about 6 months in a cupboard. I keep it in a kilner jar.

2 tablespoons each of

Paprika
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Ground coriander

1 tablespoons each of

Salt
Dried oregano
Dried parsley

2 teaspoons each of

Ground ginger
Ground cardamom

1 teaspoon each of

Smoked paprika
Cayenne pepper

If you want to increase the heat increase the cayenne - anything up to 1 tablespoon (but that is seriously hot).
Just dawned on me @Goonergal - were you asking me this about my peri peri mix or was it the crispy coating I use?

Today’s planned menu.
Usual breakfast slice Nimble toast, butter, lots of tea.
Lunch will be h/m egg mayo with last of the lettuce.
Supper will be leftover chicken from Sunday roast, red pepper and a little of chorizo and tinned tomatoes, with pasta for Mr PM and last of the fresh brocolli.

@DJC3 really hope the SS arrives today. Your volunteering sounds tremendous and I can understand how grateful those old folks are for what you are doing. It would be nice to think whenever things return to normal you will be able to sit down with a cuppa (and Dennis with his new pals) with them.
I am stretching out my C&C with Sainsburys to 2-3 weeks and getting a C&C weekly at the farm shop which is a godsend for meat, eggs, cheese, fruit and veg. Luckily they have a vast cheese counter and their own butchers. Bit expensive but for two very doable and the quality is amazing.

Bed yesterday 6.7 FBG 5.3. @shelley262 - so glad your Mum continues to improve. I did smile though. It seems to be a trait with relatives that they omit the most pertinent details. I always found with my Dad that he just really didn't want to be diverted from his set routine and "outsiders" were an attempt at diversion. @DJC3 - you raised a smile as well. That brought back memories of when we were small being given something for going to the shops. Was usually enough to get a few penny sweets. Must confess I tip the delivery guys that bring my shopping. I do hope your Soda Stream arrives soon. @Goonergal - totally agree on our new gadget. I even used it again yesterday rather than the oven.
B. TAG and a couple of Lidl's GF oatcakes with 2 Dairylea triangles.
L. A bit of the remains of yesterdays piri piri chicken just cold.
D. Chicken again. Thanks to the butcher for this one - chicken breast stuffed with goats cheese and in a chicken/chilli sauce which had a small amount of corn, chickpeas, butter beans, peppers, mushroom and onion in it. It was delicious and not enough beans to do any damage to the BGs. I had it with Lidl's high protein noodles which had yet more green beans, peppers and mushrooms through it. DGF brownie warmed up with a spoonful of Graham's goodness coffee ice cream.

Where's @ianpspurs got to?

Breakfast - just finished - 2 small, rubbish quality, sausages, 2 rashers streaky bacon, 2 fried eggs.

After eating RyVita yesterday, BG went up only 0.6. So not too bad an effect. However, it was already 9.2. By bedtime it was 10.5 - after my fish and celeriac dinner.

Ordered half leg of lamb from the butcher for collection tomorrow. They don't have any streaky bacon, but maybe the supermarket will have it. I'm also hoping MS V can get me some fish.

Tonight will be some roast beef and gravy from the freezer with the remains of the celeriac mash and broccoli.

Hello everyone - beautiful day!

I don't know what I've had but I'm getting over it now. The upset tummy has gone but still left with the rotten headache. Today my FBG was down to 10.2 and I'm hoping for single numbers tomorrow. Its a PITA that every time I get any illness no matter how minor my BG ramps up to silly numbers! :shifty::rolleyes:

Today's food

Breakfast: cheese omelette with veggie hot dog smokey sausage

Lunch: Actimel and a small chunk of brie

Dinner: Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages, cabbage, carrots and cauliflower - Mr C will be having Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes with his

Glad to hear you are on the mend...do you think it could have been CV? As they say not everyone gets it the same. If I became ill I would want to know!
I love those red onion and rosemary sausages too!

Have you tried the Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers - they are the best burgers I've ever eaten.

I don't know if it was CV but i don't think so. Its been nearly four weeks since I left the house/garden and my husband has been fine - and good at using hand gel or a good wash after having been out. When i was little I used to have tummy ache migraines brought on by stress and this very much reminded me of that.

Hi all
Not finished eating for today but about to hunker down with last two episodes of “big little lies” on dvd - really distracting enjoying a lot.
Success today at last mum has been acknowledged as on vulnerable list with offer from Sainsbury’s to deliver groceries so managed to book her a delivery for next Monday - phew! So good to have a delivery sorted for her. Mum still improving so hoping she will be okay for a bit longer before we need to go up.
Caring visit to son in the am - very difficult but stick to social distancing and I’m sure his mental health would deteriorate even more if we don’t keep visits up. I also do his shopping and chemists pick up and delivery. We always feel vaguely guilty when go on a care visit!
Breakfast bacon and egg
Dinner pork chop, onions, halloumi chips and cheese stuffed mushrooms with glass dry white. Planning in a while to have Lc hm raspberry chocolate swirl brownie with yoghurt and cream.
Sending love to all x

Bed 6.4 FBG 5.3. @Chook - glad you're improving. @PenguinMum - I agree. I would love to know if I've had it as I had every symptom apart from a temperature. Chances of getting tested are Nil though. @shelley262 - that was certainly a result with your Mum and Sainsburys. One of our neighbours I've been helping finally got their shielding letter today. Scotland is well behind. Like us they are sorted out with the Local Stores. One of our Local Stores was on the afternoon Scottish News about the important role these stores have been playing in the local communities and it's very true. Anyway, Hubby decided he wanted bolognese so that made life easy as I had it in the freezer.
B. TAG and 2 Dairylea triangles.
L. Nothing - after yesterdays efforts giving my 50l indoor bin and the recycling bins a scrub down and disinfect I was a bit lighter today doing a few more cupboards and shelves. Still to tackle the big cupboard but I want Hubby to put an extra shelf in.
D. Bolognese - tagliatelle for Hubby - zoodles for me. Followed by 2 squares of Lidl 95%. Don't know if you've tried it yet @Goonergal but it tastes like a 100%.

I'm doing things in short bursts as I'm still tiring but I'm getting there. It was indeed a lovely day though. Nice to sit outside for a coffee.

Some of of my online order was substituted, got a bag of sprouts in place of broccoli.

Either Black Mario or a friends dog will get them, as my partner and I detest them (think 1950's school dinners).

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and Mint carb killer bar.
Late Lunch: 2x Babybels followed by Greek yoghurt, coffee chia pudding and LC chocolate granola.
Dinner: mushroom and cheddar omelette with a leafy salad followed by SF jelly, cream and macadamia and coconut keto granola.
I think I’ve caught the kitchen gadget bug! We took delivery of a milk frother today. Verdict is full fat milk froths much better than my carb free coconut milk :( Tomorrow I might try a mix of double cream and water, has anyone done this? If so what ratio of cream to water is good?

Breakfast usual, CWC, nut granola, scrambled eggs.
Lunch, bought a crusty seeded baguette, had some of it with salad and pâté. Delicious.
Dinner, used the chicken legs from yesterday made them into casserole with leeks and mushrooms. Yesterday's carrots and cauliflower layered with raclette cheese. And the celeriac and roast potatoes saved were reheated in the oven. Rosé fizz.
Later had some cheese slices. Cup of tea.
Busy day. Woke early, tried going back to bed but only dozed.
Rode my bike to the nearest town. Bought bread tomatoes and cucumber, then to the pharmacy for shampoo. Stress brings out all sorts of minor health issues, including excema on my scalp. Bought the recommended product.
Took about hour and a half altogether, there and back.
MrSlim has been working hard on creating another room. The Loft. At last we can get our stuff out of the barn. The multitude of boxes are now all inside. Some things have got damp and gone mouldy, including my wooden rolling pin, which has now been repurposed as a log for the fire. Many need repacking, and the master list of contents needs updating. Job for the next few days.
Managed to pot the beans and peas I put to soak yesterday. And found some poles for beans to climb, but apart from watering, that's all i did in the garden today.
