Evenin’ All,
B: bovril and lc hot choc
L: forgot, then tidied up a stray sausage that Mr B had left lying about. Silly man.
D: a rather nice curry. Keema spices in mince, with one tablespoon of dhal and two tablespoons of goatsmilk yog with hot mango chutney stirred in. Rather oddto have a tomatoless keema, I thought, so next time will incorporate a bit of the red stuff.
It is mayhem here.
Mr B took the pack out early, before it got too hot.
So they have had the rest of the morning and all afternoon lazing about recovering their bounce.
We currently have a tooth clashing battle going on over who owns the footstool.
I predict tears before bedtime!
What a horrible time you had with all that noise and disturbance. Did you have to have naps to recover? Hope you get a peaceful sleep tonight.Sooooo tired! We had a power cut from 00.13 to 01.24 - should have been okay but numerous burglar alarms going off kept us awake then, when the power finally came back on, one of the burglar alarms (don't know who's) wouldn't permanently turn off and intermittently blared out on and off for another four hours. Good job we couldn't work out where it was coming from..... finally gave up trying to sleep and got up to read - went back to bed when whoever it was had managed to fix their alarm (about 5am) then the dustbin men turned up at 7.30 so decided to get up to start the day and now I'm starving! FBG was 9.3!!! Might have a nap later.
Breakfast: usual omelette with carb free syrup
Lunch: Actimel drink and a bit of blue Costello cheese
Dinner: some h/m Minestrone from the freezer
@PenguinMum some supermarkets are selling flour they bought wholesale to help ease shortages.@Annb I suggest you try and source Neil’s bread flour and yeast from some small independent mills in Scotland or even N Ireland. I struggled to get wholemeal flour for the last couple of months and in the end found what I wanted from a mill in Eire which was shipped in less than a week. I used Kells in Kilkenny and bought the wholemeal soda bread mix. I know in England Doves Farm Organics do a bread box daily containing flour and yeast so might be worth a look. But equally there might well be Scottish mills that could use the business.

Just had the steak, Brussels sprouts and broccoli spears. Steak was grilled (brushed with butter first), broccoli also brushed with butter and grilled, Brussels sprouts gently fried in the butte/beef fat mixture with orange juice, orange zest and some chili. About 1 tbsp soya sauce.
Chili was a bit hotter than I intended so that warmed me up considerably. It was very good.
The grocery boxes were delivered again, despite me asking the council to cancel them. Just took pasta and tinned tomatoes out, plus toilet rolls and soap. The rest didn't even get out of the box and I phoned to get No 2 son to pick it up on the way home from work. So that's it all gone - great!

My neighbour who is shielded because she has COPD also receives these boxes. like you she doesn’t want or need them and is finding it very hard to stop them. It’s usually a case of either her or me spotting the delivery driver and asking him to take it away again. If we miss him it’s left on her doorstep and she doesn’t use half the stuff in it. It seems such a waste. It’s a lovely idea but Im sure there are many people who don’t actually need them.
Morning all.
Posting early today having felt the need for a very early lunch break and already consumed my main meal. Rotisserie poussin in the air fryer. Used a chili oil, garlic and salt rub overnight and added some paprika just before cooking. Very good too.
Dinner will likely be either a mince based concoction or rollitos.
@Annb @Chook @DJC3 those boxes seem to be going to a lot of people who don’t need them - one of my sisters and a friend are in the same position. On a local news board there are reports of the parcels being delivered to the wrong people too.

@Chook I hope you get a better night tonight. That sounded pretty awful. @Annb - good looking steak and veggies. @SlimLizzy - I'm not surprised you were hungry after all that physical effort. Well done you I bagged and froze the last of the broth/chicken soup yesterday thankfully as I now have Hubby's cold! At least I know it is a cold as he's been totally isolated. He's feeling better so he assures me it's just a 24 hr thing. After the way I've been for weeks it is very mild.
Bed 7.3 FBG 6.3 but I've mostly been in the 7's today thanks to this cold.
B. TAG and a couple of slices of skinny bread - one with pate one with Dairyleea.
L. TAG and another couple of Dairylea.
D. Made Kung Po beef with mange tout, baby corn, green beans, yellow pepper and onion. Had it with cauliflower rice.
Couple of squares of 90%.
I was pretty annoyed today to discover we had an outbreak of Covid19 in Edinburgh back at the end of February which infected 25 people at a conference and no one saw fit to tell joe public it had happened. 25 out of 70 odd people is one heck of an infection rate and we should have been warned. It's developing by the hour what wasn't done. 8 out of the 25 are residents here so how many more were infected?
