This is the one we have (and in scale too). We first found it in Tortola, BVI, then Antigua. When we sold up in Antigua, we shipped some back with other stuff.
Other sizes are available.
Sunday 9 July - bed 7.1 FBG 6.8 Son requested a trip to recycling. I was going today anyway, so it gave me a helper with my stuff. I've got a busy day tomorrow. Early Aqua class, then hot foot it into Edinburgh for badly needed physio. M&S finally came out with the school discount event, so I've got all the school clothes ordered too.
B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with Ploughman's Pate. Benecol dairy free.
L. Gin and zero lemonade (well, it is very warm, and I needed a pick me up).
D. Campari and soda and a Moretti Zero (it's still very warm). M&S chicken shawarma, cauliflower fried rice, fried aubergine. The chicken was spicier than last time.
CC little chocolate pot.
I couldn't finish the chicken. It was just a bit too much. View attachment 61870
No. That big bad boy is not an entry level purchase. Thanks, I will try it ( but maybe not the catering size jar)
Turned out there were 12 guests and the children were not allowed anything with added sugar and drank only cold water. Everyone enjoyed the oatcakes so there were only 2 left for the T2 oats-eater to take home with her, but she did take all the experimental cookies. She also brought with her some bananas in case there was nothing here for her. Can't figure out her T2 diet at all. Neil brought lots of extra chairs through and then disappeared. I had a hypo just before they arrived and crammed in several of the cookies I'd made for the children for a very quick boost. That worked but it left me feeling very tired. They hadn't had lunch so I threw together a quick salad with some ham, some smoked salmon (which looked a bit pathetic until I put the pot of sardine and tomato paste in the middle of it) and some cheese. Also found enough fruits (including some tinned in fruit juice) for the children. Parents also joined in. I think they all went away satisfied so all's well. Could hardly move when they left so couldn't do anything about putting the room back together and just fell asleep (about 4pm to 7pm). Neil hasn't reappeared yet so the chairs will all just have to stay where they are meantime. Huge pile of dishes to wash. Later. Can't do anything just now.BG currently 11.1 so I'll have to do something to bring it down. Probably should have some breakfast and take some insulin but I can't think what I want to eat. My main meal today will be sausages and vegetables of some sort but that's not yet. Maybe a RyVita with some soft cheese. Seems like a good idea but I don't fancy it. I know - I'll make some sardine and tomato spread and put that on RyVita. That will be tasty enough to perk up my appetite.
@shelley262 thank you so much. I honestly thought I'd give up after I got to day two but to my utter amazement I never had any hunger pangs whatsoever and could easily have gone on longer! My diabetes has been under control for two years with and A1c of 37 and 38 but I wanted to rejuvenate my cells@coby well done on your long fast I've never done longer than a day. every 24 hours I regularly fast for a minimum of 14 hours and sometimes longer but find it difficult to do a longer water only fast. When I started keto six years ago I did a month of 23 hours fasting and one meal a day in my one hour eating window but these days, now at normal weight and bgs, I find that to meet my protein and nutrition needs I mainly eat in 8 - 10 hours and it suits me.Hope your fast helps with your bg management which is what it's all about.
