What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Really have had a week of it.... now no mobile phones!
Coffee and cream x2
Tea decaf
Cheese and onion Omelette
Bacon crispy and a tomato

Great results @JenniferM55 and @Rachox. @Annb - my left foot (and ankle) for you; my right foot and ankle for me! I'm glad to say I can walk again. I've been hobbling around downstairs without a crutch, but I'm still unsteady. Crutches are, therefore, positioned in strategic points just in case. Eldest grandson also persuaded me to venture out with just one crutch as he was "there to support the left" if I needed it. I made it. Just to the car but it's a step forward.

Bed 5 5 FBG 5.7

B. Just water until much later as I was ferrying DIL on errands after school runs.

Much later, LC mixed Berry granola with 4 blackberries and sugar-free coconut milk. Benecol dairy free and TAG!

L. Nothing

D. Boys were here, and I was persuading Hubby to have a plate of broth too.

Me? A bit later than usual, a cheese and ham toastie made with SRSLY bread, and lettuce, tomato, mayo. CC little chocolate pot.

If I can get Hubby eating properly again, I can get some of the mounds of protein that has been consigned to the freezer back out. Currently, I'm just raking about for anything I can find. I'm glad to say the swelling/inflammation is now localised in the big toe. Maybe tomorrow it will be gone?View attachment 62808
Glad to hear your legs and feet are improving. Hope that continues and you are soon back to normal.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: coffee shop coconut cappuccino and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: chilli con carne with cauliflower rice.

Part 2 just realised I meant to add to my eating post that I will be AWOL until middle of next week. Celebrating OH s significant birthday in Wales. The birthday will be celebrated by climbing pen y fan mountain says she crossing fingers and staying in a cottage nearby for a close family get together. I've been doing major food planning and preps for a while but looks like a good kitchen and bbq which will help and even better a hot tub Jacuzzi for after long hikes! Will report back later next week.

Evening all

Today:

B: Two poached eggs topped with a knob of butter, slices of avocado and tiger prawns, seasoned with black pepper.
Water to swallow tablets
Espresso.

L: Crustless quiche using broccoli, red peppers, onions, eggs, cream and pecorino.
Salad made with watercress, chicory, oregano, cherry toms, Welsh onions and Kalamata olives, dressed with an olive oil, garlic and balsamic vinaigrette and topped with walnut halves.
Skipped pud.
Water to drink.

D: Seafood salad made with brown shrimps, mussels, lettuce, celery, Romano peppers, salad onions and mustard cress, with a dollop homemade aioli for dipping, topped with toasted pistachios.
Water to swallow tablets.

Breakfast: the rest of the salmon from last night with some of the vegetables all chopped up and dressed with mayo.
2nds meal: I have some chicken wings to marinade this afternoon and then I'll chuck them into the oven for a bit. Perhaps add some tomato salad to it and that should be plenty.

I thought the weight loss last week was too good - weighed myself this morning (took the bandages off to get an accurate measure) and I've put back 5 lbs of the 61/4 lb I lost last week. Well, I did warn DIL that sometimes it would all go pear shaped and we just have to pick ourselves up and start again.

Thursday 24 August - bed 5.9 FBG 6.1. I even got back in the 4's today for a while (although MFP is saying I'm not eating enough). Hubby is starting to eat again, so that will help. I managed outside on my own with one crutch today. Nerves on the right are still "jumpy," but not all the time. Inflammation is getting more and more localised on the top of the big toe, so these odd pills seem to be working.

B. Just water again until much later. Hubby still having a lie in recovering from his lurgy.

Much later, LC mixed Berry granola with the last 5 blackberries and sugar-free coconut milk. TAG and Benecol dairy free.

L. Wow! 2 cheese triangles. To ward off queasy feeling.

D. Didn't finish it, but I mixed together a tuna melt on a SRSLY seeded roll. Note to self: don't add mustard again to a tuna melt! It tastes weird. Salad on the side and my normal CC little chocolate pot.

I'm missing my zero lager, but beer apparently is something not to drink whether it is zero or not.

@DJC3 I think I just have to build my confidence again. It's scary when you're outside, and you suddenly realise your feet/legs are not working to support you. Got to say, though, so many people have been so helpful, opening doors and suchlike. 20230824_185851.jpg

Near as dammit OMAD today. We had to go to Plymouth this morning so just black coffee, then treated ourselves to lunch at Nando’s while we were there. Butterfly chicken breast, rainbow slaw, broccoli and a side of Halloumi to share.
Home by early aft and had a DGF cake with a cup of tea.
Been out this evening watching a local sea shanty group, it was really good fun but I stuck to Diet Coke although I’d have loved a pint of cider. IMG_3240.jpg

Breakfast: Streaky bacon, and a large tomato microwaved and covered in the remaining cheese sauce from the cauli cheese I made a day or so ago.

2nd meal will be lamb tagine.

Today is a baking day - Em's 11th birthday is on Monday and her mum doesn't have time to bake a cake for her, so I have one planned. She likes lemon drizzle best, so it will be that but with a fondant icing covering and floral decorations. I see it as an elegant cake since she is getting so sophisticated these days but with 2 candles making the 11, more like Roman Candle fireworks - just for fun. Need to get it done before she comes in from school.

I’ve never been in a Nados but that looks good enough to make me want to give them a go!

Happy birthday to Em @Annb . She'll be delighted with her cake. Friday 25 August - bed 5.4 FBG 6.7.

Foot/leg is still improving. I've done the bulk of my shopping online for tomorrow, but there were still odds and sods I wanted today. Made a trip to Tesco after I dropped the boys home. Leg still not 100% but better than it was earlier this week.

B. Just water again until later.

LC granola with 3 sliced strawberries today, sugar-free coconut milk and Benecol dairy free. Of course, TAG.

L. After the Tesco visit, cheese and ham toastie made with SRSLY bread.

D. Back to my crispy sea bass. I had lettuce, tomato, and veg salad with it today (mainly because hubby wanted my mac and cheese made from scratch, which took time). CC little chocolate pot. 20230825_183349.jpg
