What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Op went ahead, my foot is an odd mixture of numb and painful
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a bar.

Dinner: LC Roll filled with egg and lettuce.

Great news about the op. I hope the pain eases quickly as it heals. Did you just take your own roll and scoop the filling out of a hospital sandwich?

So pleased for you that it went ahead, @Rachox, all recovery now & I wish you a speedy one. I suppose all numb would be better, hopefully they will give you something for the pain that works.

Dinner was some Polish sausage slices, a piece of Ossau Iraty cheese, manchego & cambazola with some cherry toms & a small avocado.

Oh @Rachox , I'm so glad you are done at last. When I saw you had posted, my heart was in my mounth,...... just in case.

Now to get the healing done. :)

I’ve been really hungry today - the cold weather perhaps.
B- streaky bacon, grilled mushrooms and scrambled eggs.
L- Black Country pork crunch used to dip/scoop the keto hummus. Great combo. DGF cake to follow.
D- air fried Lamb chops and cauli florets, all coated in cumin, coriander and turmeric. Salad leaves and h/m sauerkraut. Still hungry so a glass of red, some cheese and a few almonds. Feeling much happier now. IMG_3679.jpg

@maglil55 hugs for the ankle, I really hope it’s not the gout flaring up again. @Annb hugs also for the horrible seesaw of BGs you had to deal with.
@ianpspurs I’m with JKP and the girls on the table cloth. I like it but it’d be like Where’s Wally if I had similar - I’d never find my dinner!

Evening all

Today:

B: Two poached eggs smothered with butter and avocado slices seasoned with black pepper, plus a wedge of Gorwydd Caerphilly.
Water to swallow tablet.
Double espresso.

L: Packed lunch made with leftover mushroom and spinach frittata.
Chicory, Romano peppers, celery sticks and baby plum tomatoes with a dollop of home-made mayonnaise for dipping.
Tiger prawns.
Almonds and hazelnuts.
Water to drink.
Strawberries to round off lunch.

D: Smoked salmon and cream cheese salad using lettuce, baby plum tomatoes, lemon verbena, Kalamata olives and mustard cress, with home-made mayonnaise, topped with toasted pistachios.
Water to swallow tablets.

B: 2 hard boiled eggs with mayo
Long, hillier than expected dog walk
L: cafe with friends. Tasty venison stew, and I ate half the mash. Came with a good portion on greens and sprouts. Drank tea.
Pleased at my resolve but not so pleased when it came to split the bill. Everyone else had had a juice or an alcohol, or 2 and a pudding, yet it was split equally. I don't mind from the social point of view, but I do curse how much more LC costs me grrrr!

D: 1 chicken drumstick, 3 chipolatas, 20g Schlossburger cheese, cucumber sticks.
3 sqs 72% chocolate. Overly sweet and too easy toeat more.
1 glass red

Next time, have a cheese platter for dessert and a splash of whisky in your coffee after dinner?
This should equalise the bill...

My evening meal was the same as yesterday (and likely tomorrow): sauerkraut mash (cauliflower mash, not potato) with Dutch smoked sausage and 'zuurkoolspek', both boiled and fried. Yum!
Who said beige food was bad?

Picked all day:
1 x Knorr veg cube dissolved in boiling water with ACV
Handful of Black Country pork scratching from the 1kg bag that fell into my Amazon shopping basket. (Chicken nuggets tomorrow, me thinks)
1 x decaf coffee & Options Belgian choc with cream
1 x stick of biltong, sliced thinly

D: what my daughter calls a Spanish omelette and I call a mishmash of “stuff”: onion, peppers and mushrooms from the freezer, ham bits, grated cheddar cheese, sliced Brussels sprouts, baby tomatoes all mixed in with 2 eggs and a splash of cream. I only managed half. The other half can be tomorrow’s dinner.

Had about 30g of Red Leicester cheese throughout the day. I made cheese crisps, they weigh about 3g each and I must have ate about 10 of them.

3x coffees with cream.

Turkey, gravy, buttered steamed cabbage and sprouts. Hm sugar-free/low carb trifle for afters.

Had a dose of Cavonia cough medicine, boy is it sweet! Afraid I've started with a burning sore throat and a tickly cough. Guess this is one of the hazards of having family stay :sorry: . Hope hubby doesn't start with this, cos his man-flu symptoms will be unbearable!

Evening all and particularly to our poorly forumites:
@Rachox so pleased you've had the opp and a winner for taking LC roll in to have with plain egg salad. Your planning seems to be paying off and hope pain management goes well so you get a much needed rest to help you mend.
@Annb hope you manage to stabilise your blood sugar roller coaster it must be exhausting
@maglil55 hope your ankle problem isn't gout and well done to your swimming champion grandson
@JenniferM55 hope your virus doesn't develop
Today's food
B one slice of bacon and egg and lc toast
L hm veggie soup followed by spoon of berries and yoghurt
D salmon in lemon butter and green beans with glass of chardonnay followed by a low carb chocolate brownie

Good ideas, but I was full!
Sometimes I do curse being fat adapted, healthier and poorer, :p :p
I don’t understand why you are poorer.

In your normy days, would you not have joined in on the hooch and pudding ? That being the case, surely your bill would have been higher.

Good point, but at least I would have had the option of choosing sandwiches or pasta which are cheaper. Just a bit peeved today as after the lunch we walked through the attached farm shop, where apart from the meat and veg, in the Christmas treats section there no low carb option at all, not even very dark chocolate

Hitting a street food market tomorrow though. Hoping for cheeses!

Morning all. Yesterday was my granddaughter's 26th birthday and so for the first time ever, her other grandmother and I took her and her American friend foor lunch and treated them. I had grilled chicken with baby new potatoes and coleslaw which was far too much and what I took home, I had for tea. I did buy her a chocolate birthday cake and I did have a very thin slice. Naughty I know. Today I'm having cold turkey with saurkraut with carrot. Pink salmon and mayo for tea. Have a lovely weekend everyone. :)
