I'm so pleased it went ahead. Now, you can focus on recovery. I heard from our family in Australia that it was third time lucky for our brother in law the same day. He'd had an operation for stents cancelled twice. He's safely through the op, too, and on the road to recovery.

Glad to hear that your brother in law's operation was completed and he's recovering now.

Wednesday 15 November - bed 7.4 FBG 7.8. Well done Paul @DJC3. I wish someone would do mine. I really don't have a clue this year.
Brandy should never be optional in mincemeat!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with coronation chicken. Benecol dairy free.

L. A bit of crustless quiche.

D. I'd been nibbling on and off on M&S dinky sausages, so I really was not that hungry. Combine that with evening taxi duty getting grandson to swimming training (and back later), other grandson home, DIL to some event...I ended up with a cheese and ham toastie on SRSLY bread. CC little chocolate pot.

Ankle doesn't feel like gout. It is coming and going.

Breakfast: cocoa keto granola with minimum of milk washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Lunch: tuna salad (cucumber, coleslaw and lettuce)
Dinner: cheese omelette with coleslaw. A strawberry yoghurt appeared on my tray which I hadn’t ordered, look at the stats! :wideyed: Needless to say I left it!

Well done with the meal and leaving the yogurt. I also chose the omlette and it was served with potato and baked beans which I left. Did eat the yogurt and B/S went up to 17! So well done and hope everything has gone well.

@Rachox that yoghurt if you didn't realise looks deceptively healthy - a good lesson in avoiding the flavoured yoghurts!
Putting pictures of my breakfast today - I often have two boiled eggs with a keto roll - I always slice rolls and butter so easier to dip into eggs and make you feel you are getting lots of bread albeit low carb! Today was my first Keto Chefs roll - they are one gram of carb per roll and I thought they looked like bread, OH also tried and like me was very impressed. I think I may well be a regular customer thank you again @ianpspurs . picture btw is of just one roll sliced

L spoon of sauerkraut and kimchi with four of seeded crackers and piece of stilton followed by a spoon of berries and yoghurt
D chicken tandoori with peppers and a DGF low carb roti . now sat sipping a gin with soda water may well have a couple of squares of 100% chocolate with decaffeinated coffee later.

@shelley262 glad KC roll worked well for you. I initially looked at their ingredients and the olive oil in bread - at that stage Srsly used palm oil - and no erythritol in sweet things was why I went with them.
Yesterday was my normal Friday so lots of tea, CWC, 2 x speculoos, mackerel in EVO and an avo, salmon salad - same image as last week
Today: I mug tea, 2 x 800 mls water 2 x babybels then rummaged around the kg tub of peanut butter as a breakfast
CWC and Fattbar almond and vanilla cookie mid morning
KC roll with turkey breast and hunk of raclette - not melted - for lunch. More water.
NLCK beef in black bean sauce, their orzo pasta/rice and water chestnuts. 150 gms Fage 5% with 30 gms foodie market mixed nuts. No pictures because that table covering is an outrage.
@Rachox I hope there are painkillers which work. @JenniferM55 hug for the throat and cough. BBC website suggests man flu may be a thing. The Victoria sponge recipe would interest me,

Evening all

Today:

B: Two poached eggs and scallops with flat-leaf parsley, asparagus spears smothered with butter, all seasoned with black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: dry white wine
Tuna steaks rolled in finely chopped celery and thyme, baked with sweet red peppers and aubergines, moistened with double cream and topped with extra mature Cheddar.
Steamed French beans and mangetout smothered with butter.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% chocolate.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns and brown shrimps, avocado, cucumber, baby plum tomatoes, mint, salad onions and Kalamata olives with home-made aioli for dipping and topped with roasted macadamia nuts.
Water to swallow tablets.

The dreaded vertigo returned today. Took me an hour just to get out of bed. Luckily I still had some pills left from last time which helped a bit. Couldn’t cope with anything to eat or drink ( not even coffee) until 1pm , then Paul made me a plate of cold meat, cheese & nuts and we watched It’s a Wonderful Life.
Able to stand without toppling over by dinner which was grilled gammon steak, cauli cheese and salad leaves. Followed by SRSLY toasted fruit loaf and more tea. I’ve drunk a lot of tea today, all with full fat milk so probably over carb limit just in milk. Never mind, tomorrows another day.

B: 2 scrambled eggs with 2 chipolatas
Bit of shopping for Christmas bits
Dry dog walk, always a treat as rain had been forecast

Just picked at bits most afternoon
2 chipolatas, 3 sqs 75%, a nut bar

Later, 1 bite hubbys corniish pasty, 1 drumstick, 1 glass red

Gosh @DJC3 how scary, I do hope your vertigo has now dissipated. @Rachox pleased you sound like you're on the mend, that omelette with coleslaw looks lovely, might make myself a meal like that over the next few days.

@ianpspurs so far man-flu hasn't visited  , so fingers crossed it won't appear, I'm being very careful not to encourage it. The Victoria Sponge I used was https://sugarfreelondoner.com/sugar-free-keto-victoria-sponge-cake/ - love her recipes. Recipe calls for 2x 7" springform tins, mine are 9" so no wonder the sponge was thin. I'll defo make the recipe again, making necessary adjustments. The 'jam' looked nice, though I didn't make it.

Breakfast was 2 rashers of back bacon with a fried egg.

30g of red Leicester cheese

Homemade turkey soup made with the carcass of a turkey crown, onion, cabbage (both white and red), butternut squash, and mushrooms, all cooked in the slow cooker. Whizzed by the Braun stick, and accompanied by thick cream.

Slice of hm lc lemon cheesecake.

4 squares of 90% Lindt Chocolate.

Had a good sleep mid day, though I kept getting disturbed by my raging sore throat. A few doses of ibuprofen soothed it somewhat. I don't want to take any cough medicine as it's just so sweet, no doubt it's made with pure syrup.

It's possible to buy sugar free strepsils, but of course they use sweetners.
For sore throats I like Choraseptic spray.
Hope you feel better soon

Mug of decaf coffee & Options Belgian Chocolate powder with cream.
Water throughout the day.

D: The other half of last night’s mishmash faux Spanish omelette with one whole avocado, sliced. Handful of pork scratchings, half a stick of home cured biltong, sliced. 100ml kefir.

I suffer from vertigo and it used to hit me every couple of months or so. My doctor recommended the Epley Manoeuvre which definitely works but hurts my neck. Then I found this video which shows you how to do it kneeling down and I found it easy to do. I am probably going to tempt fate here but I haven’t had a bout for almost 8 months since doing the exercise.

Thanks so much for the recipe link. We have made some of her recipes so I should have done a search but it is always good to hear from someone who has already made them successfully. For coughs Bronchostop syrup and pastilles are what many use. Insert is for the pastilles

This is the syrup

Morning all. Yesterday, I had cold turkey and a packet of Uncle Ben's rice which, as you know, has already been cooked. I was told that you could have twice-cooked rice, pasta and potatoes and it wouldn't spike you, but have found that I can't. My level shot up and took ages to come down. More than disappointing! Today, I'm going to have sausages with green veg and cauli rice. Safer! Going out for bf, sausages (I love 'em) bacon and eggs. Have a great sunday folks. :)

I have tried frozen potato because I read somewhere that the carbs are changed chemically and so have a lesser effect on BG. Tried a few times now and sometimes it seems to work and other times it doesn't. There must be variables that I am not aware of. Maybe what you have them with, maybe the time of day, maybe something else. I recently made a fish pie that had just 3 slices of frozen potatoes baked on top of each portion. That seemed fine but there wasn't much there.
