Regrettably, things are not perfect. The stents are fine, no blood clots, and he's 100% better with his breathing. Unfortunately, they had to go in via the wrist as he has an aneurism they're keeping an eye on in the abdominal area. With the wrist/arm journey, they've managed to tear the bicep. His arm his very swollen and excruciating pain. He's to get an MRI to check if it's partial or complete detachment. Meantime, he is home and on Endone (seriously strong pain relief).

Do hope you get home tomorrow today, @Rachox, far better to recover at home.

Get well soon to those that are poorly or under the weather & your BiL, @maglil55, that's nasty, poor guy .

Dinner tonight was black bean spag bol followed by a morsel of Jo-Lo peanut butter cheesecake brownie that I found hiding under the frozen portion of toms I needed, served with a dollop of whipped cream on the side.

Morning all. I do hope that everyone who is ill soon feels better and @Rachox, you get to go home today or even yesterday! Today it's Pensioner's lunch so it's a mystery at the moment. For tea, I'm going to mix some cream cheese with my tin of pink salmon. Hope it's as nice as it sounds. Have a nice day and a great week folks.

Forgot to say, the meals on here look delicious but that crackling!!!! Mmmm, that's something else!

Hi All so back from my trip to Lanzarote. Interesting island with the black volcanic landscape, no trees, few plants other than cacti or succulents. I had lots of lovely fish and seafood for supper every day, the best sweet prawns in their tail shells ever! Lovely family time with brother, SIL and niece. The only issue was heat oedema with very swollen feet and ankles and the last day my legs joined in and was very scary when my lower legs were huge and fit to burst. Mr PM was worried about getting on the plane home and spent the night making contingency plans while I tried to sleep with my legs propped up! Anyway made it back and within 36 hours feet & legs were back to normal.
So food yesterday:
Brekkie slice LC toast, good butter, copious tea.
Lunch was scrambled eggs, tea.
Supper was Roast Chicken, cauli cheese & Brussels sprouts.
Have skim read the posts of last week here and glad @Rachox has had her op and hopefully is recovering well and not in too much pain. @DJC3 hugs for the vertigo must be really horrible, does it make your tummy turn?
@maglil55 hope the foot improves pronto and it isnt dreaded gout.
Glad to be back with my clan and going to explore Keto Chef as recommended by @ianpspurs .

Break fast - thai curry, 2 egg white omelet, coconut cookie, almond milk coffee
Lunch - tofu salad, 60 grams peanuts
Dinner- avocado salad, thai curry, 2 egg white fry, 20 peanuts. Almond milk coffee.

Change of plans, it must be my lucky day!

Neighbour-in-the-garden gave me a call to tell me that he'll be unexpectedly away for work until thursday, and to ask me to take care of his dog, cats, turkeys, ducks and chickens.
And he also told me there was a pot of slow cooked beef in his kitchen.

I don't have much veggies left but I still have a couple of onions. I think simply boiled onions will go very well with the beef.
Doesn't look too appetising now, but I'm sure this will change when it's reheated!

Water temperature is 8°, which is not bad for this time of year. This is an earlier photo, but we're still getting the nice sunsets (but rain during the day!)

Saturday 18 November - bed 7.9 FBG 7.4. A day of peace....when I continued declutter and stripping the beds, etc. I did not venture out once.

B . TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and egg mayo. Benecol dairy free.

L. 1/3 of a mint Fatt bar.

D. Cold cuts - roast pork, ham, ox tongue, pork & apple, coleslaw, vegetable salad. CC Little chocolate pot with raspberries. Gin and soda.

I did manage to get to Aqua last Thursday, even although my ankle is still niggling. @JenniferM55, I hope your throat is improving, and @DJC3 has the vertigo gone yet? I use that manoeuvre too and the kneeling version looks interesting. @Rachox - fingers crossed you get out today.

1530: At the moment my internet isn't working. Today is the day we arranged to switch to BT but there are problems. At the moment we have no phone and no broadband. An engineer came out and tells us that we were not given all the information we needed to switch - we have an old copper wire connection - put in in 1976 and never been checked or needed fixing until recently - and when we do get the connection, we won't be able to use our phone without an added gadget to make it work on the old fashioned line. Even then, if we have a power cut, we lose the lot, so we have no emergency phone at that time. Actually, Neil has sorted that problem by plugging it into a battery backup. Still, until we get some gadget from BT, the phone won't work at all.

The engineer checked the line to see what the problem was with the slow speed and the noisy line and found faulty connections at the 2 remaining telegraph poles that serve our line. One he fixed, the 2nd one is on a pole that is reported to be unsafe for an engineer to climb so he had to send for a "cherry picker" to come out.

He's done that now and has just come back in to see if he can get the whole system going.

Anyway, breakfast was 2 pork sausages, 2 rashers of streaky bacon and 2 fried eggs. It satisfied for a while but I'm getting pretty hungry again now.

2nd meal will be 2 chicken thighs (small bird, it seems) in an Asian style sauce and the Brussels sprout mixture left from yesterday.

I opened the jackfruit tin and both Neil and I had a tiny bit to try. It doesn't seem to have caused any problem at that level but, it's pretty tasteless and I don't know why I'd bother with it.

The engineer has just found another fault somewhere on the line and has gone back out to see if he can fix it. Poor man - he came out to what he thought was a quick job at 0930 and he's still struggling with it at 1420. I won't even try posting this yet - no point.

It's fixed! Hurrah!

Blimey @Annb what a nightmare, when things go wrong they tend to do so in a huge way. The internet certainly isn't a luxury anymore, it's so essential.

Sore throat has returned again today, I felt really well yesterday. Hubby had two hospital appts today, one with the ophthalmologist and one with pathology to have blood taken, the hospital staff were very good when we cancelled, they said we did the right thing cancelling rather than spread germs around. Hate missing hospital appointments though.

Breakfast was around 11am, a thick rasher of bacon, a fried egg, and a small splash of reduced salt and sugar brown sauce between two 'wonder bread chaffles' Recipe. Will do the chaffles again.



Dinner was Salmon steak, mashed swede and home made coleslaw. Saw a youtube about adding half a potato while cooking the swede/turnip, when cooking is finished the potato goes in the bin. The potato is supposed to absorb the bitter taste of the swede - I think it does... Recipe

So far, carbs consumed are under 16g, cream added to 2 coffees is included. Think I'm ok for indulging in 2 squares of 90% Lindt chocolate later.

Hope your sore throat gets better soon and you manage to get hubby to an appointment for eyes and bloods as soon as you are better.

Before going out had two boiled eggs with keto roll
Busy all day decorating at oldest sons flat - he has health challenges including autism so OH has to take him out when making any changes - plus he had a medical appt so I could get on with it. @DJC3 thought of you though when I was doing his bedroom ceiling - felt a bit dizzy looking up and tilting head back after a while! No after effects though was just while repeatedly looking up and tipping head back - and got the job done. a great relief I don't like working up ladders solo but it wouldn't have got it done unless I did. So no snacks or drinks just got on with it!
D just had leftover roast Chicken with kimchi and sauerkraut and lots of water to catch up on hydration then a spoon of berries and yoghurt. Just about to have decaffeinated coffee and a few squares of 100% Montezuma chocolate

Thanks all for good wishes re vertigo. I tried the new manoeuvre this morning but disappointingly it got even worse and any sort of movement is now difficult. A funny ( depending on pov) aspect was that I had an app at the PO to get my passport renewed. Luckily Paul could take me and I was clinging on to him for dear life. It was also raining so my passport for the next 10 yrs will show me looking decidedly green round the gills and with wet hair plastered to my head!
Couldn’t cope with food until around 3:30. SRSLY toast and a handful of almonds.
Dinner was flat iron steak topped with butter. No sides. Too much hassle.

@Rachox I hope you got or will get home today. @PenguinMum hug for the leg issue but otherwise well done for getting winter sun. @DJC3 I hope the vertigo is subsiding or gone - crackling looked good. Posts crossed so hug. @Antje77 result on the food issue. @maglil55 great photo - sunshine on Leith? (Even if I'm wrong it is a great song)

And to stay vaguely on topic and reply to everyone’s kind comments on yesterday’s pork crackling. I wish I could have put a plate down in the middle of this thread for folk here to snack on while posting! I’ll definitely be buying more from that lovely farmer.

Today:

B: Two poached eggs topped with a knob of butter, four tiger prawns and avocado, seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Courgetti alla Carbonara made with chestnut mushrooms, eggs, double cream, Parmesan, nutmeg, butter and spiralised courgettes, finished with extra Parmesan and parsley.
Steamed French beans and mangetout smothered with butter.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.

D: Seafood salad made with brown shrimps, mussels, lettuce, chicory, celery, baby plum tomatoes, salad onions, kalamata olives and mint, with a dollop of home-made aioli for dipping, topped with toasted pistachios.
Water to swallow tablets.

The challenge for me was patience. It was the poor engineer who was challenged with a difficult job - not made any easier by the position that the master socket was in - right in the bottom right hand corner of a cupboard in the hallway underneath a shelf (it was put there by the original BT installers) and to get to it he had to lay down on the floor and work at arm's length.

Well done on managing the decorating job.
