Just dug the recipe for your Dad's onion soup out from my recipe file. I'd forgotten how good it was but you've reminded me. I'll make some of that tomorrow.I tried to copy this to my CMT account to not forget, but the recipe was so simple that CMT didn't recognise it as a recipe!
CMT also wanted to add @Rachox chilli with cauliflower rice as the picture to go with it!
Nothing that couldn't be resolved with a bit of copy and pasting thought.
Today should have been the other half of my stuffed bell pepper with something, no idea what, likely a slice of lc bread or such.
I posted on facebook about missing my dad and my dog, who died 9 and 4 years ago today. This morning I found it hard to choose between using my dads mug and the one I associate with my dog, and felt rather smug when I decided to use both! I drink more than one mug of coffee anyway, and at 46 years old I'm perfectly allowed to decadently dirty two mugs in one day if I want to!

Two of my friends commented they miss my father's onion soup. It's about the easiest soup in the world to make and I didn't really feel like eating the bell pepper anyway.
So I had a lovely bowl of (heart)warming soup instead, with lots of melted cheese.

Totally agree 're B12 mr Shelley is also on high dose b12 drops and they may be making a lot of the improvement. A mix of improving b12 and the fish oil is recommended by Patrick halford for cognition and as we started both and seen an improvement we are continuing with both. I take a smaller dose of both and improved my hair too. We use sub lingual drops which are pricey but well worth investment for us and we won't be stopping either any time soon. It's our morning routine with our Kefir.@shelley262 and @DJC3 - I'm certainly not dismissing the impacts of fish oil on anyone's health or wellbeing, but in this hacienda, we've had some curious impacts from starting a sublingual B12 supplement.
In August MrB had a very wide blood panel done by Medichecks. His results were excellent, with the reporting Dr commenting he appears to be in exceptional health, but then commented that, his B12 whilst in range, was lower than he might have expected, based on his other results. To be fair it was probably in the lower 20% or range.
I looked at my most recent results and mine were similarly in range, but in the lower reaches, so we both started on a B12 supplement.
Within about 6 weeks one of his golf buddies asked him what he'd been doing because he seemed much more flexible and looked very well. For myself, I had been at my GP late spring to talk about hair drop. I didn't have any bald spots, but my hair had definitely thinned. I now have bonkers regrowth!
To be honest, having got the "in range" on my own B12, I put the hair drop down to other events.
Anyway, anyway, I wonder if MrShelley has also had any kind of benefit from the B12.
I've been astonished myself. Delighted and astonished and it has been a very valuable reminder that "in range" doesn't mean optimal, or sometimes even "good enough" for any given individual at any given time of their life.
The body is a miraculous thing, but it doesn't half mess with our minds at times!

@shelley262 and @AndBreathe I’m fascinated by both your experiences. It had never occurred to me that B12 might be a helpful supplement as well as fish oil (I’ve ordered that Norwegian one) as I eat a lot of meat so assumed that’d cover it. My hair is definitely thinning - it used to be very thick, I assumed it was yet another effect of ageing.
Today’s food - the usual black coffees, thank heaven I’d had these before we had a power cut. It lasted several hours, the electricity co insisted there was no power outage at our postcode but eventually sent a man out who confirmed we had no power! There was work going on in another location which apparently shouldn’t have affected us, the man said we’d get a £30 goodwill refund.
Lunch was cold for obvious reasons - tin of mackerel, h/b egg, avocado and h/m coleslaw. KC Mince pie traybake &cream.
Dinner - slow cooked lamb shanks ( very slow cooked as it turned out. @Annb I was wishing I had one of those hay bags to keep it cooking). Green beans and chard. Red wine, Camembert and walnuts to follow

Wrapping in a duvet can mimic the haybox effect. We had a Mr D's thermal cooker on our boat. The beauty for that circumstance is not having to have gas on (for that) when passage making and not in the galley.Welcome back @ravensmitten .

I had beautiful thick chestnut hair, but now, it is incredibly thin, so much so, I've changed my style to a comb over. Not quite a Bobby Charlton, but that could be a thing if I don't have it cut again, doesn't help that I'm going white either.... I didn't have any bald spots, but my hair had definitely thinned. I now have bonkers regrowth!
