Don’t know the answer to the question sorry, however, wanted to say have a wonderful time in Cornwall, one of my favourite parts of the country and not far from my home, Devon.
Where in Cornwall are you visiting? We often visit for a long weekend as we can get there in a little over an hour, we love staying at a lovely secluded park, log cabins and hot tubs set in a Valley, 2 minute drive from Perranporth beach.I will wave on the way past Jayney!

I feel for you. Vertigo is awful. Last time I had it I was scared to move lying down as it sparked off the dizzy turns. My physio did a movement on me that sorted it out. It doesn't work all the time but after 3 miserable weeks I would have tried anything. Hope you are rid of it soon.Worse today even had a sleep this pm - almost unheard of but think the anti vertigo tabs knocked me out! On a cocktail of antibiotic drops and anti vertigo/ sickness tabs as ear infection causing vertigo - lovely. Bgs very high but know why so not as stressful as normal I know it will go.
No breakfast feeling yuk
Lunch small advocado salad
Dinner oppo ice cream
Hoping will start to pick up in am once meds kick in
Sounds perfect, have a lovely time and enjoy yourself and the wine xOh yes I know Perranporth. Both my daughters live nearer St Austell, can’t walk to a beach but lots of lovely countryside around, and we can get to a few beaches within 20 mins drive. I’m just looking forward to seeing them all and some late nights chatting over a bottle of wine.

Thank you hope you feel better soon too. Keeping propped up is better than lying down.I feel for you. Vertigo is awful. Thanks @Goonergal I seem bit less dizzy this am but ear demanding more painkillers and bgs shocking I’m normally shocked by high 5s but more 6 and even 7s with the infection. However do remember reading research somewhere - prob this forum that mice who are given flu virus tend to recover better with higher bgs so must be a reason for it! I take reassurance from all those other sick people on here who report high bgs when poorly.Morning all. Back late from work quiz night yesterday so no time to post.
@maglil55 and @shelley262 hope you feel better soon. My only experience of vertigo had the room spinning. Very scary.
Got my blood test results in the morning. All normal. Discussion about cholesterol as total number is now 7.1. However all my ratios are ‘ideal’. Doctor agreed once I showed I’d done my research. He was also interested in HbA1c reduction (not my usual GP) and not at all fazed by talk of a ketogenic diet.
On the food front, my body continues to oscillate between apparently needing very little food to demanding excess. Trying to figure out if I’ve lost touch with the ‘off’ button on hungry days. After 2 days of OMAD, found myself extremely hungry yesterday with BG higher than usual. Ate loads.
Breakfast - none
Lunch - smoked salmon and an entire pot of the nice M&S cream cheese, followed by an experiment. M&S had packs of strawberries with little pots of clotted cream. Decided to try strawberries for the first time since diagnosis (only fruit at all apart from a few raspberries from time to time). Didn’t dare eat all the strawberries, went for 4 decent sized ones. 0.4 mmol rise after 1 hour and 1.1 after 2. Ok, but the strawberries tasted insanely sweet so won’t be rushing for more.
Afternoon snack - 100g roasted, salted almonds.
Dinner - early one pre quiz. Nando’s. Plain chicken leg and 3 plain wings.
Hungry when I got home so had a few slices of salami and a square of Willie’s Pure Gold 100% chocolate.
Thanks for your thoughts - caring has no sick days but OH is doing more thankfully allowing me to have some short rests. I also was due to do paid work yesterday and today but have delayed it so OH was already in the main caring seat! Enjoy your time in Cornwall.Evening all
@Goonergal the new GP sounds quite switched on re ketogenic diet. Glad your blood tests were ok
@shelley262 I hope your antibiotics and meds kick in soon so you start to feel better. I hadn’t heard about the high bg being good for ridding the body of viruses. It’s possibly the same reasoning as why we develop a high temp during infections - the viruses and bacteria cant tolerate it so it’s part of the body’s defense mechanism. How are you coping with looking after your son while being so poorly?
Today I’ve come to Cornwall - I said hi to @jayney27 and @vanillapie as I drove past - did your ears burn
Breakfast was scrambled egg, smoked salmon and 1/4 avocado. Coffee and cream.
Lunch was supposed to be a DD keto roll filled with chicken, avocado and mayo but I forgot my carefully prepared packed lunch. I do hope my daughter ( the one who still lives at home) has it for her lunch tomorrow, although the avocado may not be so nice by then. What a waste.
Luckily I’d already packed some low carb snack for emergencies this week so had a pack of pork crunch and a PhD bar ( cookies and cream) which saved me from having to get something from Costa. Did buy an Americano with cream from Costa for the journey though.
Dinner - with youngest daughter, cod fillet fried in butter and olive oil with mucrowave style cauli cheese and a portobello mushroom stuffed with spinach and feta. Couple of glesses of dry white wine ( so far)
