What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Evening all, nice to be back after the forum issues yesterday.
B was my version of a smoothie but I added some banana flavour whey protein powder, it added substance so it was very thick and creamy but a little bit too sweet for me so won’t repeat it just stick to my usual recipe
Lunch was a salad with egg and Brie
Afternoon snack of a PhD smart bar
When I got home a made a cappuccino with almond milk, I popped into Waitrose on my way home and they had a barista style version, has more carbs but made a nice creamy drink, more like a proper cappuccino
D cod curry cooked in my new pressure cooker, I marinated the cod overnight in coconut cream with curry spices then added tomato passata to make extra sauce for cooking, served on a bed of broccoli rice, glass of wine

B: smoked salmon avocado and a scrambled egg. Coffee and cream.

L: tuna salad with leaves, avocado walnuts, radishes, celery and avc/ olive oild dressing. Followed by 6 raspberries and clotted cream.

MAS few pecan nuts

D: a new IP success! Adapted our family favourite kobi keema, mince and cabbage curry for the IP - 5 minutes cooking time wow! I’ll never cook it on the hob again.
Had it with cauli rice and a DietDoctor naan with garlic butter. Glass of red wine.

Jayney - Please ensure your lid seals properly. That's important.

Moving on, why not contact the manufacturer's customer services and see if they can supply a new lid? I know when others have done this with another brand, the manufacturer has sometimes just replaced the item, gratis, or they will sell all sorts of spares.

Whilst lids melt, the more common disaster area is settling the pressure cooker on the hob, the hob either still being hot, or it eing turned on in error and melting the base, so please, please don't join the top and tail club!
 
Hello all.

The weather has been brilliant today. Sunny and 30 degrees. Probably the last bit of summer this year.

By the way, have given up on OMAD and a compressed eating windows. Also, have decided to quit abstaining from alcohol. These strategies didn't really seem to work well for me, as blood sugars were slightly up. Googled it and found out that fasting can raise cortisol and alcohol usually lowers it. Maybe, I am very sensitive to cortisol?

Anyway, test strips were delivered today at around 11 p.m. and blood sugars were noticeably lower today.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and erythritol.

Lunch: Baby asparagus fried in olive oil. Some sliced lamb. Two scrambled eggs.

Dinner: A wiener sausage. Lamb's lettuce with feta cheese and a homemade dressing (Lime juice, mustard, erythritol, orange zest oil and olive oil). Two scoops of Oppo's vanilla ice cream with erythritol-sweetened whipped cream and erythritol-caramelized pecans.

Tomorrow, we'll be off to see Antwerp -- about a two-hour drive from here. Seems to be a very cool place, looking forward to it.

Me too think main influence on my bgs these days seems to be stress and it’s knock on effect of cortisol. My sugars best on low stress and three smallish meals a day. Sure it’s individual but seems to be best for me. Enjoy Antwerp hope weather goodand you enjoy your break.
Still with mum heading home tomorrow but can’t wait for our Greek holiday next Sunday
 
Hi, it all still works perfectly, just cosmetic, annoyed at myself for not thinking, thankfully it didn’t melt completely I realised what I’d done just not quickly enough to prevent damage.
I will contact them to see if I can buy just a lid.

I'm in Scotland. We have an annual trip where we all meet up with my ex workmates and their OHs (we all got on really well together). Bath was the choice for this year's get together. We travelled all over the place for work but never really had time to see what the different venues had to offer. We're making up for it now. I was in Bath a few times for work and never saw a thing apart from the hotel I was in and the offices I was presenting in. There's about 16 of us go.
 
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold roast chicken with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: Mint Carb Killa bar and sugar free squash (no coffee at my son’s house!)
Dinner at my son’s (he’s low carbing for weight loss) lime and coconut chicken (no he didn’t cook it, it was ready made from Tesco!) with pepper, lettuce and sweetcorn salad followed by SF jelly and cream.
 
I’m originally from Bristol so Bath was a favourite place to visit for days out and shopping. I was there 3 years ago for my daughters prevwedding get together, we had a lovely time.

Re yesterday's food:
B: couldn't face it, but had 11ses instead, in the form of a gf cracker with smoked salmon pate on it. last of that. will make my own in future!
L: really crustless quiche (none of that bought stuff where they pretend it is crustless and then have pastry on the bottom.
D double patty burger with pulled pork and cheese and BBQ sauce (scraped most of it off) without the bun and with too many chips. I kind of couldn't stop. But they were lovely and crisp and crunchy, which is what I have been craving. Lots of vinegar.
Then I had a creme brulee with most of the caramel lifted off. Then I had indigestion because it was far too much food and my body simply couldn't wade through it before bed.

Lesson learned. Only it will also be forgotten, almost as quickly

By the way, the sun is out and we're expecting around 30 degrees, so we'll go "topless" today. Sometimes it's worth having a convertible, even in Germany.

@jayney27 -- Glad that they replaced the lid, wished all companies had that kind of customer service.
@shelley262 -- Greece sounds fabulous. I'm just a teensy weensy bit envious. Where are you staying in Greece?
