What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi all
Seem to be gravitating back naturally to 18/6 fasting as not hungry until lunch. Mind you I always start the day with a flat white coffee (frothed up watered down cream) mixed with inulin which does tend to fill me.
Lunch 2 Lidl protein roll ‘crackers’ with mayo and turkey breast ( each ‘Cracker’ is a twelfth of a roll but feels like more.)
Dinner beef stroganoff with cauliflower cheese followed by small piece of oil choc cake and cream.
May well be tempted by gin and soda later as it’s still the weekend!
@Goonergal I really admire your exercise efforts - I was feeling good for doing 2 home based Pilates and HIT session this weekend. I love dr Moseley’s HIT idea as it is just 3 x 20second pedalling sessions going as hard as is sustainable and recovery between - its good as so short just hoping it’s as useful as cycling for a long spell which is what he claims! Pilates def works well on the core muscles which is what I want.

The cycling HIIT sounds good. How long do you recover for in between the 20 second bursts? Might add that in at the gym - I half saw something on TV last week which said something similar about short bursts of HIIT.

Yes it’s the same guy dr Moseley he did a book high intensity exercise a few years back and the tv prog this week just said same but with a bit of subsequent research. You just need to get your pulse back to normal between the sprints takes me about one min or so sometimes a bit longer especially after third sprint. Legs feel wobbly but you recover quickly. It’s been proven to get the glucose out of the muscles and really work them. Have fun

Hi All,

Yesterday
10am scram egg
3pm beef mince stir fried with a smidge of mustard and onion powder, with some grated cheese stirred in. Kind of a cheeseburger minus shape or bun
7pm 3squares pickled herring, 2pickled eggs and a blob cream cheese.

Today
9am coffee substitute and cream
3pm butterfly lamb chop baked til golden and crispy
8pm small bowl pulled pork.

Several chocs spread through the day from a posh box of them. Careful timing = no bg impact

Good morning all.

Sunday ...

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and xylitol. A bunch of caramelized pecans (erythritol and double cream). Tuna salad with mayonnaise and celery.

Lunch: Nothing.

Afternoon: Soup (green beans, navy beans and oxtail) with DD seed crackers and butter. Half a glass of wine. About four squares of 85% chocolate.

Dinner: Nothing.

Everybody here seems to eat next to nothing....I certainlly don't although my appetite is much smaller and Im no longer scared of being hungry. Are you all full from what you eat? Am I just impatient?

Your caramelised nuts sound good do you just cook the erythritol in a pan on its own and how long for? I’ve never attempted ordinary caramel in the past but fancy giving this a go. My youngest sons partner is doing low carb as well and wondered about trying out this recipe as a treat when see them this coming weekend. Love the ideas here

It is chilly, isn’t it?

1pm a double beefburger with cheese, bacon and 5 fries. I left the garnish, the bun and the rest of the chips.
Probably won’t need to eat again, but I do need to cook some chicken mini fillets. Probably in garlic. Ready for tomorrow. They will need tasting. Of course.

Definitely chilly @shelley262 and @Brunneria

Breakfast - none

Lunch - started taking lunch to work again to try and avoid just eating snacks for lunch when I get hungry on days I planned to fast. Almost didn’t eat it as I wasn’t that hungry but went for it anyway. Lidl protein roll with butter and corned beef.

Dinner - another portion of the new recipe ‘bolognese’ that isn’t bolognese, with Asda courgette and broccoli rice, topped with cheese. Followed up with 5 Hotel Chocolat 100% buttons - so glad you introduced me to those @shelley262

B: full fat yogurt and flaxseed
L: cauliflower cheese (leftovers from yesterday)
D: tofu with courgetti and broccoli/kale/seaweed "rice"

(microwave steam bag of broccoli / kale / seaweed "rice" was from Iceland - recommended by member on here- sorry cant remember who it was but Thankyou - it is yummy and change to caulirice)

Good morning all.

Monday. Had to be at work really early after having little sleep. So, no real food before dinner.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and xylitol.

Lunch: Nothing.

Snack: About two squares of 85% chocolate.

Dinner: Some tuna salad with mayonnaise and celery, a wiener sausage with mustard and low-carb ketchup, some ancient gouda cheese, two DD seed crackers with butter.

Good morning, @shelley262,

It is really easy and quick. Just put some erythritol in a teflon-coated pan or pot. Heat until it is melted. Add a little bit of salt (to taste) and double cream. Wait until the mixture takes on a caramel color and most of the moisture from the double cream has evoporated. Add pecans (or other nuts). Stir until pecans are well coated. Put on a plate to cool.

Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it.

By the way, this is the first I have tried erythritol after two years of using xylitol. I have to admit erythritol is a little bit gentler on my gastrointestinal system.
