What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

They were tasty :hungry:
They first appeared in my Tesco a couple of months ago but they've not learned yet to get quite a few in as they go like hot cakes. I was stunned to find a grab and go but until they get the numbers right it's grab and gone!

I had ordered one on my delivery in the morning but it was marked out of stock. I popped in to the store around 2pm and there were three all use by that day and reduced to £1.76. Looks like they over ordered in my store!

Evening all thought i'd get in just before the football. Starting to feel like a mini summer of 76 - younguns will have to ask or google it. Today's menu according to my calculations comes out at 29 gms carb and 36 gms fibre. Probably too low on protein for my liking but all good. Had annual review with DN today, possibly better off talking to my chckens:angelic: Menu below:

6.25 - 3 pints Lemon Green tea
11.10 - 1.20 3 mugs tea with h/m almond milk
14,30: 2 large eggs; 100 gms Waitrose Deli coleslaw; Wonky Avocado; 2 tbls Hellmans Mayo; 30 gms Chia seeds; 1 tsp psyllium husk powder; 50 gs Fage 0%; Hartley’s 10 Cal Raspberry jelly; 2 Pints Water
16.00: Nothing
18.10 : 2 slices tongue; salad (much smaller today); acv, olive oil and dijon dressing with psyllium husk powder; water probably 3-4 pints during evening (very bad timing of evening meal as had to run an errand for my wife; 2 hr test now at start of 2nd half)

Ah summer of ‘76 I remember it well, I was on school camp, our parents had packed per the advised list, long sleeve jumpers, coats, covered shoes or welly boots, our poor teachers had to have a whip round, drive to the town and come back with a selection of sun hats, sun screen and flip flops, all purchased from good ol woolies :joyful:

Thank you, I think I have a bit more muscle - certainly my legs aren’t as scrawney so that could be it I guess.
I think the Med style of eating suits me. I tried a black coffee today but only managed half, I will persevere or try your whipped cream/ water combo again. I think Ive just been getting a bit gung- ho with the cream pot!
Waist measurement is hard as I have a big hernia type lump on one side where a kidney was yanked out, it could be that which is getting bigger too I suppose.
Thanks for the reassurance anyway, and sorry for going off topic a bit.
I had 3 mugs of black coffee today! Needed it having taken both boys to the Seabird Centre (although gin and a darkened room would have been better). No 2 was a flaming nightmare!

Much cooler today even had a shower.
Weight loss seems to have stalled so feeling a little bit glum but numbers are back in the 5’s except my mid morning one.
Breakfast 2 goats in blankets, @Rachox and I have agreed this is the new name for halloumi thingies and a couple of salami crisps
Lunch tuna salad
Dinner, tried to recreate the celeriac and minced beef dish that was so delicious last week, didn’t enjoy it this evening so only ate half of it, mixed berries blitzed with coconut cream to make a type of mousse

I remember it well. 1 year married, already had our first flat and both of us working 2 jobs to save for a bigger place so we didn't see much of the summer!

Bed 6.6 FBG 7.6 Lovely day again. Picked the boys up at 8.30 am brought them back for breakfast mainly because the chance of me finding suitable lunch items was nil. Was almost not an issue. No 1 was very well behaved but his brother was lucky he wasn't back in his room by lunchtime!
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream. 1/2 Mattesons chicken sausage, 2 scrambled eggs.
L. 3 mugs black coffee (wishing it was something stronger)
D. New thing from M&S Rosti topped chicken bravas. Chicken breast topped with cream cheese, grated sweet potato and chorizo. Had it with 6 sweet potato chips and the remains of the fresh broad beans and peas.

Going to upset No 2 even more on Thursday afternoon as I'm switching his car seat back to the harness one. He can't behave in the new booster. I'll be digging reins out as well. Maybe that will make him behave. Could have stayed out a lot longer as there is loads to do there but he spoils things.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: cold roast chicken with cauliflower and broccoli salad with Caesar dressing followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: raspberry chia pudding and a black coffee.
Dinner: chicken chasseur, mixed veg, carrot and swede mash followed by strawberries and vanilla Oppo.

@jayney27 sending a hug your way - I am mirroring you again, not just with our HbA1c but weight a bit disappointing yet bg pretty good. I’m also in the 5s all day except a mid morning blip. I think we just have to stick with the programme as we know it works but might not be a completely smooth ride. I’m trying to put a bit more ‘good fat’ into my diet like @shelley262 . It seems we have to constantly tweak our system, no chance of getting complacent!

@maglil55 your life is so hectic I don’t know how you manage, I hope tomorrow’s a bit more relaxing and no 2 calms down a bit. Didn’t try black coffee again today but I did carefully measure out 2 teaspoons of cream into the couple of coffees I had, rather than just glugging it in from the pot. Did you always drink it black or did you train yourself to like it?

B: scrambled egg, smoked salmon and avocado

L: salmon fillet with salad of leaves, avocado, olives, walnuts and flaxseed with olive oil/ acv dressing

Mid aft: Adonis brownie

D: avocado with M&S prawn cocktail followed by a handful of pecans and a glass of red

Just realised Ive had fish and avocado for every meal!

Yes it would seem we are twins at the mo, I hope we both get some success soon. It’s not a smooth path is it? We are constantly kept on our toes, but hey who wants an easy path, that’s not for us special people we are made of stronger stuff, bring it on :p

Starting to feel like a mini summer of 76 )

I remember it well too. I’d just finished A levels and the world was my oyster. We spent the whole summer at the outdoor pool eating strawberries, then walking into town to M&S to cool down (the only shop to have aircon).

My 2nd year at Uni. No exams and few lectures just sunbathing. During hols fruit picking - lots of cash and an amazing tan!
