What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Bed 5.2 FBG 5.3. Still in the depths of the lurgy contamination but needs must still have to go shopping and son wanted to come too. That meant the 2 minis came too as they were desperate to get their Advent calendars. No 1 also wanted to show off his newly acquired gap where his first tooth came out.

B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Didn't plan on it but felt quite wobbly when I got back so had the last of the Honduran prawns (2), last of the tuna and red onion (dessert spoon) and the same With The last of the anchovies. Spoonful of that whipped cream cheese.
D. M&S best ever burger with a cheese slice, lettuce, tomato, 1/2 avocado, helmans and a mushroom.
Couple each of raspberries, blackberries , blueberries and cream.
Loads of water. Had a sleep for a couple of hours, still full of the cold but feel better.

Saturday brunch: bacon, low carb pancake, buttered, coffee.
Mid afternoon: coffee with cream, one custard cream biscuit to dunk ( which was not as nice as I thought it might be)
Dinner: chicken curry with cauliflower rice. Didn't eat it all...... Must have been full from custard cream.
2 more decaff coffees and plenty of mineral water.

Good morning all.

Spent most of the day yesterday in the kitchen preparing food and I'm blaming all this talk about Xmas preparations on this thread for it.

Breakfast: Two double decaffeinated espressos with cream and xylitol (only had erythritol with stevia at home and decided I don't like the aftertaste, but bought some pure erythritol later in the day.)

Lunch: Nothing, but tasted various foods while cooking.

Dinner: Pan-fried duck breast, spiced red cabbage (shredded cooked with lemon juice, erythritol, low-carb blackberry jam, chicken broth, cinnamon, allspice and cloves until tender) and cauliflower-coconut rice. Homemade low-carb macaroon (egg whites, erythritol, desiccated coconut and coconut flour). Two glasses of red wine. Blood sugars, unfortunately went up to 7.4 one hour later (unusually high for me), but were back down to 5.9 at two hours. Don't really know what caused this -- still a little flummoxed by this. Exercised after this, and blood sugars came down to 4.5.

Love the sound of the red cabbage. Will be making some for Christmas. Who sells low carb jam? Or marmalade for that matter?
Yeah, I’m also blaming all these super-efficient-organised lot :-)

Hi @set-in-stone,

I get my jam from a German website. So, I just looked at amazon.co.uk and I found some strawberry jam. Here is the link https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xylitol-Uk...F8&qid=1543763083&sr=8-1&keywords=jam+xylitol. It has 2.8g of carbs, the rest is xylitol.

Another good option (if you can get it) is the Nature's Hollow brand -- I have ordered the maple syrup and the honey in the past and they are quite good.

Of course, it shouldn't be too hard to make yourself. Just melt the sugar alcohol and add the fruit. Store in a glass, which has been cleaned in boiling water.

Thank you :-) I will check it out and hope hey do marmalade as well.

Missed two days and it's surprising how much I had to catch up on. Quite prolific posting.

Agree @ziggy_w - just trying to catch up after a few days of missed posting. Today is heading towards an OMAD day (among many other things).

@DJC3 how is the new eating pattern working out? Glad you got the almond butter. I made the mistake of buying a jar earlier in the week. Miraculously there is still some left.

@Rachox are you getting the chorizo and Gouda rollitos from Coop? My branch has stopped selling them.

@maglil55 hope you feel better soon

@set-in-stone guess you’ve discovered that the almond butter doesn’t need refrigerating.

Way too much food to catch up on - in summary lots of meat and fish and way too much almond butter, cream and Hotel Chocolat chocolate. And to join in the Advent calendar theme, started my Hotel Chocolat one yesterday (@shelley262 thanks for the tip about the 65% milk one. Very good).

Two big events today - delivery of my new cooker. Threw out the manual of the old one and found the original receipt. Cost £276 on 27/6/1991. Cost of replacement £300!! Will be christened later on.

Second was a dramatic fall/slide at the end of my long walk. Currently sat (yes, sat) on an ice pack enjoying a tea with cream and planning a large dinner. @ianpspurs Sky might also be being watched ;)

Hi @Goonergal,

Hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Such a fall/slide can be quite scary. Thinking of you.
