What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Agree @ziggy_w - just trying to catch up after a few days of missed posting. Today is heading towards an OMAD day (among many other things).

@DJC3 how is the new eating pattern working out? Glad you got the almond butter. I made the mistake of buying a jar earlier in the week. Miraculously there is still some left.

@Rachox are you getting the chorizo and Gouda rollitos from Coop? My branch has stopped selling them.

@maglil55 hope you feel better soon

@set-in-stone guess you’ve discovered that the almond butter doesn’t need refrigerating.

Way too much food to catch up on - in summary lots of meat and fish and way too much almond butter, cream and Hotel Chocolat chocolate. And to join in the Advent calendar theme, started my Hotel Chocolat one yesterday (@shelley262 thanks for the tip about the 65% milk one. Very good).

Two big events today - delivery of my new cooker. Threw out the manual of the old one and found the original receipt. Cost £276 on 27/6/1991. Cost of replacement £300!! Will be christened later on.

Second was a dramatic fall/slide at the end of my long walk. Currently sat (yes, sat) on an ice pack enjoying a tea with cream and planning a large dinner. @ianpspurs Sky might also be being watched ;)

You telepathic? :-) Yep, butter arrived today. Tried one and it’s yummy! Did not read the instructions first, so first ooze was oil. But quickly sorted. Thanks
Enjoy your day

Breakfast: - Tea then dog walk
Dockey : Eucharist bread and wine (only white bread that ever passes my lips now)
Lunch : Waitrose Americano with soya cream
Afternoon: Tea watching a surrender - no guts =- no glory
Evening meal: To come as at time of posting Salmon mousse; flatiron steak; halloumi chips; mushrooms; rocket salad; h/m mayo; may be a red wine later (⅔ of Waitrose meal deal) if I watch We the Purple v Pats. @Goonergal hope the slide leaves no long lasting harm and the performance of your boys should have helped recovery.

Breakfast - hebba pap porridge with a dash of soya cream
Lunch - a very bitty and drawn out affair, comprised of 6 brazil nuts,1 pkt biltong 1/2 a tub of grilled Italian artichokes & 1 small pkt of Itsu Nori
Dinner - soya yogurt with berries, toasted almonds & chia seeds
Drinks - 2x soya milk cappucino
That little lot comes to 950 cals, 25g carbs, 30g fibre
That having been said, I have a cheeky little coffee, chocolate & pecan nut cake baking in the oven which will add another 3g carbs and a couple of hundred cals if I succumb later

OMAD day it was and a nice indulgent dinner of 2 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausages, Waitrose steak hache and 3 rashers streaky bacon followed by extra thick Jersey cream mixed with almond butter and today’s advent calendar snowman.

@Rachox thanks for the link. Will look for those.

Evening everyone.
@ziggy_w your duck and cabbage dinner sounds gorgeous.
I’ve had a day of fairly high bgs - woke up late: dp had kicked in and has taken all day to sort itself out it seems.
On the positive side we went to visit eldest daughter and her new Great Dane puppy - he is huge and very bouncy, her other dog ( also a Dane) is unimpressed but their cat has already explained the hierarchy by swiping at him if he bounces too close.
Late breakfast of a cheese omelette
Early dinner ( at daughter’s) bacon joint cooked in IP with cauliflower cheese, roast broccoli, cabbage cooked in butter and 2 glasses red.

Daughter also surprised me with a Snaffling Pig pork scratchings Advent calendar. What a lovely girl.

Love the new avatar. Is that a new Christmas jumper?

Haha yes and no - I pinched it from daughter’s as she didn’t want it any more - can’t see a good jumper going to waste!

I started replying to your post a minute ago but I think I lost it somehow. Hope it doesnt pop up again and I find I’ve duplicated everything.
I Hope you’re ok after your fall. A bash on the coccyx can be incredibly painful.

Re new plan of eating I think it seems to be going well ( except when I oversleep like today) but it seems sustainable so far, fingers crossed.

Have fun with the new oven. I can’t believe there was only £24 difference in price.

Glad to hear you're not hurt. I think the hurt is more embarrassment than anything else when you go over although my sis in law managed to break both her wrists in a fall. Both wrists plastered with immobilized thumbs makes for weeks of embarrassment! So take care in your walks.
I'm feeling a bit better - just got an annoying tickle in my throat. Low Carb Baileys should solve that. Xx

That’s great you’ve found a good eating strategy.

Bed 5.2 FBG 4.2. It is chucking it down here and the loonies are out in force on the roads despite it being very wet and foggy. Passed a number of 3 vehicle smashes today.
Been an unintentional OMAD day. Wanted to get more of my vivid green broccoli and spinach soup on the go before I dropped son and DIL at the cinema and me take the boys to swimming.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing.
D. Hunger was setting in so I had a slice of ox tongue and a pack of M&S chorizo crisps with a campari and soda.
To follow soon will be a rib eye with mushrooms, green veg medley, fried halloumi, Diane sauce.
I've been good so today I shall break into the new bottle of low carb Bailey's.

No 2 is singing Little Sandy Sleighfoot non stop. I didn't realise it was a song from the 50's.
