Welcome back @Stephen Bond Glad you had a good time away and well done for keeping your BG in check.
I had a very busy day: left the house around 7am with just my travel mug of black coffee. Didn’t get home until 2pm, absolutely ravenous by then.
2 slices roast beef, Brie, handful of mixed nuts and a DGF cake, then had to dash out again.
Dinner was a large air fried chicken portion with cauliflower and red pepper cooked on the tray underneath. Green salad and h/m mayo. Red wine.

B: hm lc yoghurt with 8 blueberries, seeds and a splash of cream
Dance class
L: pate and avocado, 2 hm lc biscuits and 2 sqs 85% while "on hold" for EDF for 86 minutes total
D: local pub "nourish bowl with griddled haloumi" = fancy salad, a Sctoch and a mint tea

Forgot to post earlier ut here’s today’s grub!
Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: coffee shop coconut cappuccino and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a phd bar.
Dinner: kedgeree mad e with cauliflower rice followed by SF raspberry jelly and cream.

7.3 is pretty good after that blow out!!!!! And probably well worth it.
Does anyone know if the odd splurge is OK, and if so, which I am hoping it is, with what level of frequency? Once a week, once a fortnight, once a month?

Coffee and cream x 2
Bacon, two eggs, sausage, tomato and mushroom. They only gave me 1/2 a tomato!
White fish and mixed veg.
Peanut butter
Blue cheese

Another manic morning. Looked like going the same way as yesterday but managed a pit stop to pick up a pack of M&S Serrano ham crisps for a snack about 12:45
Lunch about 2pm was cream cheese and smoked salmon omelette. 1/2 avocado, sauerkraut.
Dinner- DD Garam masala chicken with cumin fried cauli and spinach. It was cold by the time I ate it as we’d just started the woodburner and the room filled with smoke so we had to rush round opening all the windows and getting even colder. I think a birds nest must have fallen down the chimney - its worked perfectly well all week. IMG_1474.jpg

Skipped breakfast and lunch. Prawn and okra curry with homemade keto Naan. The Naan tasted nothing like a naan and did not go with the curry, so I ate all the prawns and left the rest. Nice cup of tea to finish!
BG 4.6 ... 2 hours after dinner and before bed.

Hard to advise. What is ‘the odd splurge’ ?
Some things to consider…
If the splurge is a huge carb laden feast you could find you are starting to crave carbs, and est far more than is good for you for longer than intended. Thus undoing previous advantages of low carb.
Some people find they can tolerate some addition of carbs, but best to check with meter, or CGM , just what the splurge / carb intake does to blood glucose levels.

To keep in with the theme of the thread my food today has been
Black coffee with yogurt, seeds and nuts for brunch
crustless quiche for dinner, with a tiny pnew potato, mineral water.
No time to eat anything else, as have been given a bit of a medical runaround all day.

Wednesday 7 December bed 7.2 FBG 6.8. The youngest grandson asked me today why they gave me a bigger eye at the hospital??? It dawned on me that he was seeing one eye through plain glass and the other through a prescription lens. It does look bigger!! I had to take my specs off to convince him they didn't transplant a bigger eye!

B. TAG and paleo granola with sugar-free coconut milk.

L. CC snowconut stick

D. 4 GF chipolatas and 2 fried eggs. DGF Christmas pie.

Senior school is on strike tomorrow, so just the youngest to drop at school, then a lengthy bus journey to the dentist. Thankfully, the stop is just across the road from the school and only 5 minutes walk from my home. My sight is improving, but still not balanced enough for that journey.

Hubby brought breakfast in bed today, scrambled eggs and bacon! Wonders will never cease!
L: veg soup with added ham and cheese. 2 sqs 85%
D: minced beef with eggs.
Later: too many snacks at a social event, some smoked salmon on brown bread, cubes of cheese with grapes, chocolate cake, 2 large glasses wine

Well a bit of a day.
Started Beef and tomatoes.
Then in my wisdom ate 1 large pot of Greek yogurt (450) and a small thing of Blueberries. That blew my carbs for week I think. Who said a 'few'. Something else off the shopping list.
Followed later by smoked salmon.
Coffee and cream

Oh and as it has got colder I have felt more hungry.
