A bad night with my cold meant it easy to skip (sleep through!) breakfast.

L: half an avocado and a chunk of cheese. Half a proper sausage roll. Packet said 12 g carbs each but I took off at least half the pastry. Half a lime squeezed into hot water. Something in that spiked me 4 whole points, much more than the carb count should.

D: a 90 sec bread with marmite and cheese. A small portion ice cream. A ketonut

Black coffee and tea until 1pm
L- 1 slice Livlife toast with pate, few walnuts and 1/2 a small green apple. This time BG went up to 7.9, I’m thinking it was possibly the cumulative affect of all the lunch items, low carb individually but probably added up to too much.
D- sort of fish pie. Cod with sauce made from garlic, mushrooms cream and cream cheese, with broccoli chucked in the mix for good measure. Couple of glasses dry white wine

Oven baked parmesan broccoli and a low carb wrap filled with a mix of shawarma meat, onion, and bok choy, with a spicy mayonnaise based garlic sauce, very tasty! :hungry:

Other adventures today included a GP visit to ask for a referral to a physiotherapist. Left with a referral to a rheumathologist instead and a suspicion of Bechterews disease/AS. :wideyed:
And I expected to simply be told to get off my lazy behind and exercise more...

I hope they can give you some treatment for that. I know it can be a very painful condition and quite debilitating but, if you can take them, anti-inflammataries can help. Hope you can get to see that rheumatologist quickly.

Nothing eaten so far. Didn't even think of it. But I must.

Will have bacon and eggs shortly for breakfast.

2nd meal will be lamb with a pile of vegetables - including celeriac, onion and peppers in a cabbage base.

Only managed to make the ragout yesterday, so must finish off the pasta dish and the courgetti dish and get them away ion the fridge for when my friend comes. Haven't heard from her about when, so I hope she hasn't forgotten. If she has, the pasta one will go into the freezer and I'll have the courgetti one myself.

Using my usual bathroom scales (the previous ones were a different set and I think must be wrong) I found today that I am now 17st 4lb, not 18st 4lb as I had thought. That's over a stone lost in the last 6 weeks. Hurrah! (I would have said Alleluliah, but it was pointed out to me recently that that word shouldn't be used in Lent. I didn't know that. The person who corrected me was a bit offended, I think.)

Incidentally, neighbour-in-the-garden has Bechterews and is doing quite well on medication so that's a positive example. :)
For now, I mainly wish I could sleep through the night, going to give it a try with ibuprofen as soon as the pain wakes me up.
Waiting list for the rheumatlogist looks to be almost 3 months, but I'm not in a hurry either so that's fine with me. :)

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
I am either not keen on eggs or go too crazy!
Coffee and cream x 2
Cheese and onion Omelette
Tuna eggs and tomato and a little green pepper

Couple of days to report
Yesterday
Kefir with spoon of rhubarb
Two boiled eggs and one slice of LC bread followed by too much 90% chocolate ( was digging around for comfort food and discovered a 90% lindt bar that had been hidden out of way! Suffice to say over yesterday and today I managed to eat the whole bar - I really must only buy 100% in future despite offers - as I enjoy it but can manage to stick to one of two squares so works better for me)
Dinner confit duck leg with salad, sauerkraut and LC wrap also glass of red wine

Today as well as rest of chocolate bar!
10ish kefir and spoon of rhubarb
1ish mushroom omelette with sauerkraut and one Apple skin (@DJC3 I personally need to stick to Apple skin to avoid bg rises)
5ish chicken casserole served on bed of spring cabbage and glass of red wine pudding low carb Blondie warned and served with spoon of yoghurt.

Another bad night due to this cold/flu that just is refusing to go.
Only 2 clear teas and 1 cwc until 1p.m but then hubby and I were out doing an errand neither of us wanted to do so we got grumpy.
In a garden centre cafe he had cottage pie and I went for jacket potato with tuna. We needed comfort food and I'm determined to get the value out of this libre testing foods I wouldn't usually have. Happy tO report it did spike so I now have a vivid visual memory of why best not to choose it again.
At least even hubby declined cake.
5pm a packet of Cheesies while cooking dinner, for which I got mugged by the cat!
D: lamb kofta on broccoli with a cucumber and mint yoghurt dressing, topped with crunchy kale.
4 sqs coconut chocolate

Black coffee all morning.
Lunch was M&S sesame and linseed wholemeal flatbread ( I think these are the ones you have @maglil55 ? 5.2 g carb each but they are big) Cornish blue cheese, sauerkraut and a h/b egg.
D- h/m cheeseburgers on portabella mushroom, Sauerkraut. Raspberries and cream to follow.
@shelley262 I’m going to try a small apple again with a zero carb meal and keep everything crossed. I can’t bring myself to give the good bit to the Guinea pigs.

I've tried those. Yes one is very filling but I did find they raised my bg more the carb count would lead me to believe. Not dangerously high, but more than I'm comfortable with.
I wish they would bring back the super seedy crackers

Edited for typo

I had a hybrid flat bread/cake I make with almond flour, sunflower seeds, a courgette, 4 eggs, vanilla powder, erythrol, baking powder and pinch salt with goat butter spread on top and variety of pukka teas for breakfast and lunch. Evening meal in air fryer - 1 aubergine, 1 courgette, 1 large mushroom, 4 cherry tomatoes, 1 red onion, 4 asparagus, in avocado oil spritz with chopped chorizo and crumbled feta . Feeling full …..

Breakfast: slices of cold lamb left from yesterday with a little Branston.

2nd meal: probably courgetti with Bolognese sauce. It doesn't look as though my friend will be coming this week, so I'd be just as well using it - or at least, some of it. The pasta version will go into the freezer.

I cut my basal insulin down this morning from 58 units to 54, as suggested by the diabetes nurse. BG is a bit higher as a result 7.5 this morning at 4.15 and up to 9.1 before taking a small dose of insulin before breakfast. Might put basal dose up to 56 for a bit and see the effect of that.
