What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I've tried those. Yes one is very filling but I did find they raised my bg more the carb count would lead me to believe. Not dangerously high, but more than I'm comfortable with.
I wish they would bring back the super seedy crackers

Edited for typo

My BG wasn’t too bad afterwards, but I’ve broken the rest up and put in a Tupperware. Then I’ll just take a couple of bits out at a time - maybe 2/3 of a whole cracker.
I agree, really wish they’d bring those super seedy crackers back. Even a whole pack didn’t do too much damage!

Welcome @Purple 12

Late breakfast of 2 scrambled eggs lead more or less straight intoa lunch if hm veg soup. As I'm testing with a libre I added a potato to the mix of broccoli stalks, 1 carrot and an onion. Disappointed to see that even a small portion sent my bg up way too high. Later on I tried a bowlful but diluted with an equal amount of milk. Still too high. Have donated the the rest to the boys.

Mid afternoon found a pack of dark chocolate wafers at the back of the cupboard. Sell by date last August! Slightly soft but I still ate the lot!
Did raise my bg, but nowhere near as much as the potato soup!!

D: 2 sausages and kale. 2 cubes hm lc choc ice cream. 1 Scotch.

Survived the yearly visit with diabetes nurse, phoned my idiot pharmacist about a mistake they made, and called the rheumathology department of the hospital to ask how getting an appointment works.
Diabetes nurse is very nice actually but those appointments always leave me completely drained.
The person I spoke to in the rheumathology department seemed to think I was complaining about the 3 months waiting list to get an appointment and accordingly short in her replies. I wasn't complaining, I merely wanted to make sure I did everything right to get that appointment when it is my turn. It clearly didn't occur to her for a second that getting a first referral to a department for painful chronic illnesses may be quite unsettling.

Anyway, after getting home and making those phonecalls, there wasn't room left in my head to cook a proper meal.
No problem, a slice of low carb bread with two boiled eggs and cheese, and a LC cracker with German 'zwiebelmettwurst' and onion did me just fine for a main meal. :joyful:

Tomorrow will be another improvised meal, and after that I'll mess up with my diabetes because it's our yearly family weekend again. That's ok, it's a planned messing up and I look forward to the weekend!

Ooo! I like the look of them.

Black coffee all morning.
Lunch was M&S sesame and linseed wholemeal flatbread ( I think these are the ones you have @maglil55 ? 5.2 g carb each but they are big) Cornish blue cheese, sauerkraut and a h/b egg.
D- h/m cheeseburgers on portabella mushroom, Sauerkraut. Raspberries and cream to follow.
@shelley262 I’m going to try a small apple again with a zero carb meal and keep everything crossed. I can’t bring myself to give the good bit to the Guinea pigs.

I've had them before, but the ones I have currently are round - crispy cheese & a Wheaten one as well.

Breakfast: bacon and egg. That will be in a short while. I do seem to be eating quite a lot of bacon these days. That was something I have tried to avoid in the past because it is a highly processed food and not the best of choices. I asked Neil to buy me a small beef roasting joint yesterday. I'll slice it very thinly later today and use that instead.

Edit:
2nd meal: was going to be pork belly with cabbage and any other veg I could rustle up to go with it. The plan has changed because, when I went to the fridge I found a pack of chicken thighs right on their use by date. So it's chicken stew in some form - maybe spicy with coconut milk. Then I can try a new dish to go with it - coconut and shredded Brussels sprouts.

BG a bit higher than I would like this morning. That's because I reduced my basal dose yesterday, in line with what the diabetes nurse suggested. It gave figures that she wanted to see this morning (8-10) but not what I wanted to see (<7). I put it back up a bit this morning and I'll see what that does.

Hi All
Missed a few days so yesterday was
Brekkie: usual slice LC toast and copious tea.
Lunch: small plate chopped salad with two slices ham.
Supper: chunky cod fingers with cauli cheese.

today same brekkie.
Lunch: same except Emmenthal instead of ham.
Supper: Scampi (not great choice after Fish Fingers but am lazily catering for 1) broccoli.

Before yoga a few spoons of kefir with my daily supplements
1ish two boiled eggs and one slice of LC toast then Apple peel from one Apple and a couple of squares of 100% chocolate
Mid pm got a bit stressed setting up a new PC system ( my very very old one had unfortunately stopped working and although don't use it for a lot I find it essential for certain jobs) so treated myself to a piece of LC coffee and walnut cake. pc all set up and running now thankfully - I'm sure the cake helped !
5ish salmon in lemon butter with English asparagus and glass of dry white wine then pudding of a LC rhubarb crumble with yoghurt.
