What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Not as hot today so I went for groceries and cooked a lazy meal. :)

Tomatoes with mozzarella, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper, and half a 'fish fillet á la bordelaise' from Aldi's freezer section.
Now hoping I slightly overdid the insulin for an excuse to have one of those amazing ice lollies for dessert (8 grams of carbs).

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and an Aldi protein bar.
Dinner out, late birthday treat: duck à la orange with braised red cabbage and brocolli. (I didn’t eat all the cabbage it tasted too sweet!)

Sorry I started eating before I remembered a pic!

Never mind @Rachox. We'll use our imaginations.

Evening all

I changed today's plans to avoid additional heat and humidity in the run-up to lunch.

Today:

B: Two poached eggs topped with a knob of butter, avocado plus three crevettes, all seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablets.
Espresso.

L: Salad using Alaskan sockeye salmon fillets poached first thing with black peppercorns, whole salad onions and lemon juice, then refrigerated.
For lunch, combined with watercress, vine tomatoes, celery and sweet cicely, dressed with olive oil plus a touch of lemon juice, lemon verbena and garlic, topped with toasted almonds.
Skipped pud.
Water to drink.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns, mussels, celery, Romano peppers, Welsh onions, Kalamata olives, radishes and mustard cress, with a dollop aioli for dipping, topped with toasted pumpkin seeds.
Water to swallow tablets.

Breakfast kefir then two boiled eggs and half a low carb buttered roll ( I'm loving my new low carb granola but also keen to keep my protein consumption up so am planning to limit my low carb granola to max four days a week)
Lunch hummus with additional seeds, celery, a few garden tomatoes, olives, sauerkraut and two low carb seeded crackers with small piece of vintage cheddar. Followed by a few garden berries with spoon of yoghurt
Dinner venison meatballs with home made passata with the other half of low carb roll and glass of dry red wine. Just had low carb brownie with decaffeinated coffee.

B- h/m yoghurt topped with a spoonful of M&S grain free granola
L- scrambled eggs and bacon followed by DGF raspberry bakewell.
Quite a lot of tea with lactofree milk through the afternoon. No dinner tonight though, not hungry which is unusual for me.

That's wise IMHO @shelley262. We know that protein plays a vital role in general health and especially muscle strength in older adults.

D: Seafood salad using king prawns, mussels, rocket, sweet cicely, vine tomatoes, celery and salad onions dressed with home-made mayonnaise, made with egg, avocado oil, white wine vinegar, flat-leaf parsley, garlic and seasonings, scattered with toasted sunflower hearts and pecan halves.
Water to wash down tablets.

Breakfast was scrambled egg on low carb toast, slice of zucchini bread and butter
Lunch was planned over pork tenderloin with pickled red cabbage, kale in oil and vinegar, wedge of cambozola and a corn salad called esquites which isn’t particularly low carb so I have a smaller portion than Id like. I seem to have judged insulin dose ok though.
Dinner will be more of the pork tenderloin. Having rubbed with a few spices I grilled it, delicious hot or cold. Probably Greek salad as I have lots of golden nugget tomatoes in the garden, red onions and a couple of cucumbers that need to be picked. I have one pepper which is growing very slowly despite all of my daily encouragement so it won’t be picked yet, I’ll use a store bought one. Kalamata olives, feta and some garden basil will be added.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and another carb killa bar.
Dinner at a friends, fellow low carber: chicken in pork scratching crumbs with creamy, cheesy leaks.
