On behalf of you all, I have conducted a serious scientific survey:

After just over 3 and a half years of keto with no straying (nearly dislocates shoulder patting self on back) on Christmas Eve I had 2 squares of salted dark chocolate. I have since widened the survey to include 2 squares (instead of not as well as) 80% dark chocolate. NO CHANGE in BG which is comfortably in the 4s or 5s, with the odd excursion into high 3s.

Next part of the survey will be even higher % dark chocolate. But I'll stick with this for now.

Am I ever chuffed!

Breakfast kefir then fried some mushrooms in olive oil and served with fried egg
Then built up an appetite for lunch shovelling snow to clear our drive
Lunch cheese, four low carb seeded crackers and too many nuts! Then had ginger tea and low carb shortbread plus two squares of 90% chocolate.
Dinner roast chicken, sprouts, two chipolata sausages and one hm roast potato ( cooked from frozen in duck fat) and glass of dry white wine followed by a small half of a DGF low carb Christmas pudding ( last one) served with spoon of cream.

Second Christmas in my household as some family members weren’t here in Dec.
Breakfast, Greek yoghurt with M&S grain free granola.
Lunch - not turkey but slow roast beef brisket. Puréed swede, sprouts with pancetta, buttered cabbage and cauli cheese.
Tea time buffet of sausage roll( mine made with fat head dough) devilled eggs and cheeseboard. DGF mince pie to follow as well as lots of games which were good fun.
Forgot photos of food, took lots of the dogs though.

There is always the parallel thread for dogs...

I prepared a turkey leg in the oven for the first time in my life, worked out very well!
I roasted it on a bed of onion, lemon and garlic , and rubbed it with butter, some spices, and lemon zest.

Enough left for at least two more days. :)

Morning all. Because my bg is slowly coming down, I am going to eat sensibly. (Makes a change!) I'm having scrambled eggs with a sprinkling of grated cheese and my old go-to, a tin of red salmon. I'm going to make some tuna melts as well. I've got some lovely celery to nibble on if I get peckish, which I'm sure I will. Lovely sunny but very cold day here. :)
