It looks like, short of getting a charismatic leader, or London taking over the whole of the Midlands and North we are set for a right wing government for a generation.
I think labours new labour leader is too clever for the new tory voter, they prefer the bumbling incompetence and undeliverable promises.

Labour have deep divisions as yet not mended. Lib/dems have gone down the politically correct route and their female leader was a poor choice and wasn't credible.

It will be interesting to see what the female Brave Heart comes up with.

It will take more wisdom than the current politicians display to keep the Union together.

We didn't need a second Trump, but we may well need a young Biden.

Nice blossom, it does seem to have stayed on the trees longer this year even with all the winds, I like the different detail you have given that on the tree to what's on the floor, good observation.

Diaries have been on our agenda of late, so little going on and yet easily forgotten.
Thank you @Muddy Cyclist and yes, I thought that it would have all dropped by now but we still have quite a lot of cherry blossom on our tree and the apple and pear trees are now in full swing.

An honest 8.0 this morning on that evil meter.
Yesterday late morning and afternoon was an energy vacuum and I ate to survive the tasks I needed to complete and for my mental well being. Unless I am really incompacitated I hate resting and sitting and watching the idiot box which holds little interest for me. Now I don't need hugs or sympathy, this is just how it is.

Enough of the above, this morning I have that mobility scooter foot rest to make that I wrote about the other day.
Time to drink koffy, remember the stays and get going.

But OMG, those bozos on the E-Scooter...:woot:

Now, I have to admit, the younger me would deffo have one.

But the lack of protection would have me making best efforts to avoid harm

3 lanes of traffic, leading into a 4 lane LARGE roundabout...chap hogs middle lane, dressed all in black, with one teeny tiny white light marking him out ahead :watching:.. 9:20 pm at night so dark-ish.....oh dear.:banghead:

Hi all. 50/50 chance my fbg was 5 (4.1 also a candidate) or that LC influenced this or even, if accurate, that represents a non threatening performance. Similar feeling to when a youngster starts questioning whether Father Christmas is real. Congratulations on the 2nd jab @jjraak. I hope your head wound examination passed muster @Krystyna23040 - smart move last evening by Mr K. @lindisfel this is a very English coup and the % C vote in Hartlepool closely mirrored the % home ownership level there, I believe. Shares and property prices on the up, move along nothing to see here. Photos below are dogs/pups in Thetford forest early today - 5.30 kick off and pleasant enough. Salmon salad day herein. Different level entirely:woot:

Decided to skip breakfast, just had two cups coffee with generous amount of cream in both. Walked into town bit of shopping , back again and pre lunch BG was 6.7
That liver of mine has been busy.
The road to Yippee has been blocked. MrSlim has managed to Rebook ferry on a different route for 21.05.
Both of us getting increasingly concerned as to whether we will be able to meet minimum residency requirements. So needing to be there ASAP.

Well done on having the 2nd vaccination@jjraak. I was advised to drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration which I did so I thought I'd pass the advice on just in case. :)

We went for a ride into the North Lakes after lunch and we finished up at Powter How wood near Bassenthwaite Lake.
Its a good wood for spring migrants but feels very early April-ish today and only a Chiffchaff was singing.

To the East the snow lay thick on Helvellyn and the whole of the ridge from the Raise over the top was well covered well down the mountains
The Western and Northern Fells had a lighter covering but the second peak of Skiddaw, Little Man, had plenty of snow on the back side.
This is probably the last of the cold this Spring, its due to turn much wetter and warmer this weekend so all the snow may disappear.

Your dogs look as though they are really enjoying their walk. You are so lucky living so close to the forest.

good evening all :)

4.8 yesterday and 4.7 today

back to the charity 'big shed' yesterday and I'm amazed how tiring and background stressful it was just being around more people than usual, though we have our own little area where we are mostly well social distanced :)

Fortunately the reported cases are low for our area, the only large group of cases this side of Inverness were from an offshore supply ship and were transferred direct to quarantine.

Highlight donation of the first week back was a baby grand piano :D, we didn't think it would be a quick sale, but, we were wrong :hilarious: it was only on display for half a day when someone paid a deposit on it.

We got something to eat on the way home and then when I got home I sat down and just fell asleep.
So we had a quiet day today ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@dunelm - I like both paintings, the cool blue minimalist one works so well and the blossom is lovely, especially how you've given the different areas a different feel. Our trees haven't quite got to that stage yet so I hope the wind and snow haven't blasted them.

@SlimLizzy - I hope things settle down and go smoothly for you and that you get Errant sorted for travel.

@gennepher - two lovely paintings from your series, I've been enjoying them very much. The first has quite a mysterious sea and sky and the texture you've brought into the water area and the strong colour in the second one is striking and effective :)

@Muddy Cyclist - you'd certainly need a few extra layers to play outside here, though we are supposed to get a bit warmer over the weekend :)

@ianpspurs - good dog walking by the look of it :)

@lindisfel - a beautiful scene with that sky and the snow on the high peaks, we have a lot more snow on the hills again here at the moment too.

art bit - I feel I should apologise in advance for the 'sameyness' of some of the upcoming pictures
because I'm trying out different papers it seemed a good idea to try things I'm familiar with on each type so I could get an idea of how differently the paper behaves.

Darker clouds and showers today.

You can never give us to much of your scenes the light and style you use work so well. Great to be experimenting.

We wrapped up and played our Recorders, too cold for any audiences in the way of neighbours but it was really good to play together after a year of virtual recordings.

A good day here, cold but good garden company, sun and playing music.

On getting back I started my next watercolour based on a stand of trees near to my house that were glowing in the morning sun.

A4 watercolour will finish Saturday.
