What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@lindisfel hug for the BP problems - white coat syndrome? and Marjorie's gastric issues. Good news that the migraine has gone and you won't starve over Easter @jjraak this was found on a bench in McGarret Park - just in time as it was melting in the dark.
Hi Ian
It ultimately it is not white coat syndrome, though it could add to the problem due ignorance.
I have an adenoma producing 20x the normal amount of aldosterone from my right adrenal so the body retains sodium and pees out potassium.

It damaged the heart as a consequence and causes diabetes type 2, so now after over 20 years of not knowing I now also have essential hypertension for my last years 20years+
When young, with some, removing the offending adrenal can return BP to normal.
See Conn's Syndrome.

Nurses at the local hospital have said you have Crohn's disease, because they get it wrong through ignorance and not reading notes properly.

The only intervention is a very reduced salt diet, and a receptor blocker like Eplerenone that cost too much for the clown shoes too fully fund.
I have lived longer than most with Conn's, thank God in his mercy.

Conn's is named after the American doctor that described it.

Thought about a winner for using clownshoes but hug for the condition. Winner for acknowledging the source of grace. Take care

Morning all from a drizzly L.A where this abode almost functions as a nursery cum care home. None of those needing the care seem to notice how things hang by a thread but life is far too JIT for yours truly. Youngest grandchild - The Little Guy ® is much better today, thanks be to God. Maunday Thursday today, odd name which puzzled me as a young 'un. @Annb hug for still feeling crook but you sound more optimistic today. Where you pray is less important than the sincerity imho. @Krystyna23040 even your rest days sound exhausting. @dunelm and @gennepher thanks for sharing your art. @lindisfel I hope the migraine doesn't make a comeback and Marjorie's tummy is better. Toon Army man then? Dear Mr Levy should have gone for Eddie H and I would obviously be happier if they and or Glazer Fc suddenly lost the plot. @alf_Josiah I gave a hug for your low fbg and the other customers both woke and unreformed. Are you advertised as the cabaret thereby earning free koffy?. We all need a side hustle these days. Must be time for a tea run/nappy change/snacks or some steps here.
I have to get interested with the duchess a keen Man U supporter and Dylan being a long term Arsenal supporter and his mum and dad undeclared but mad keen and watching two matches at the same time.

Their mad keen at York with all playing Table Tennis, Snooker, Darts etc and watching all thing sport on TV.

Now Dylan has heard they play Table Tennis at Uni he may want to go.

Some hopes I had of him growing up a birder! :(

Derek, as a Spurs fan I know better than most it is the hope that kills. Worse yet, our eldest is scientifically minded and went to Uni in Wales. Can't be helped as he was born in Fortneath, innit. Middle son is a cricketer, born in Cambs. Youngest is a golfer. Both those two were decent footballers. All three like peas in a pod looks, height and build wise 6' 4"+ brick privvies but not rugger guys. We did take then to local club and they played a few games. Two of them were decent wingers.

Good morning everyone on a bit of a miserable start to bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. The Ninky Nonks are busy rolling a dice and carrying out the requisit number of star jumps - I’m already quite tired. Low tide is at 1113 and despite the drizzly rain they, and Little Miss Pamplemouse are determined to have a walk down the beach. Welly boots are already gathering at the door. Art bit - some more squiggles. Have as good a day as you can. Hope things improve for you today @Annb. I really now need a koffy.

Hope your bins stood to attention, so they passed muster for the bin men to accept them for collection...

Interesting lines...

Low tide has been and gone, perhaps you are enjoying more coffee now @dunelm ...

Happy national bin day Morening ladies and gentlemen and those who wonder where the sun goes on holiday.

Blood sugars this morning were a 4.8, not saying anymore about that today.

I have a safety koffy brewing and I feel I need it. @dunelm all that energy is tiring me out just reading about it. @gennepher nice lighthouse again. @Annb have you taken a covid test? Get well soon.

The saga of the outdoor flashing solar lights has been resolved Mrs J relocated them before I did. Well today is national bin day.

The house is very quiet at the moment, just sound of a ticking clock and the occasional slurp of koffy, ahh sheer bliss. Don’t panic I have already done 30 minutes plinky plonky.
Soon we should be meeting up with some friends for a stroll around a park, which also acts as a flood plain then going for lunch where we are rather well known and occasionally cause merriment. The conversations between the staff and us sometimes shock other customers of a woke disposition, with phrases along the lines of “ not if I have to take my socks off “ , we think we are quick with the wit, but the staff always get the better of us, long may it continue.

This afternoon a new idiot box is being delivered, Mrs J will set it up, she said yesterday, I dread the thought of another remote control, as long as I can turn it off I shall be content.

Now it is time prod the sleeping dragon, placating her with tea. Breakfast for me could be a toasted hot cross bun and not worry about the carbs.

Stay safe all
Remote control?
What is one of them?
I stopped watching telly before they came in.
A friend of mine gave me 3 remote controls to his telly while he went and cooked dinner.
I don't know how to work them I said to him.
Just press the buttons he said.
So, I pressed the buttons.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, he said when he came back in with the dinner plates...
You told me to press the buttons, I said.

The screen was black...

You have a good rest of the day @alf_Josiah

Thanks all for your good wishes. I am actually feeling marginally better today - not so shaky or sore. Just the pain in my legs stopping me getting around. I have, though, taken extra pain killers, so maybe that's why I'm feeling better.

BG was 10.0 at 4.30 this morning but dropped to 7.4 by 8.30. Pulse is much more like normal but there is still hissing in my ears. Not to worry - it'll fix itself.
Glad things feel a bit better @Annb

You have a good day...

Well, I promised myself a wee little trip out this morning and a little breakfast in a garden centre.

I haven't been since Covid lockdowns.
They've changed the layout, and the food comes out of the kitchen at the back instead of being on display. This came out, and I was not impressed. Also a pot of tea but the tea was luke warm. I can have luke warm tea at home for nothing. I thought of going back to the counter with everything, but then I can't be bothered, I just won't be coming back here, so it's not worth it..

I promised myself a wee little trip to a garden centre every week, for the next few weeks, and hopefully among them I might find one or two that would be worth going to.

Then, I passed a farm feed stores on the way home. I was looking for some breeders dry cat biscuits. I used them many years ago and they were a lot cheaper than these expensive fancy dry cat biscuit things in the local shops.

Someone lugged a massive bag to the car for me.
Not a hope of me getting it in the bungalow. Then a young postman walked past, the same one who got charged at by black panther Midnight through the cat flap, the other week...

I thanked him....

I wonder what the cats will think of this change in cat food?
I am sure the fox or badger won't care...would they?

Shame about the food and tea. Covid seems to have shown which businesses were swimming naked now the tide has gone out. That young postman is a good man for that after taking such a cattering..

I was aiming for 14K steps but my sister had been doing admin yesterday afternoon and when she finished I decided to walk part of the way back to her house in our local market town.

I ended up walking the whole way back to her house. I must admit that I was tired when I got back home. Legs still tired today. 18K steps was just too many steps.

A fab 5.7 this am ..very happy with that.

Interesting article on the upcoming new world order for traffic management.

Somewhere I drive through most days..traffic jams built in by tfl and absolutely horrendous.

Not surprised business struggling for customers.

Nephews lives near the area, and again another one who finds people no longer visit..

Well at a £130 a visit, (50% off if you cave & don't argue, guvnor...got blimey, that's a good deal and no mistake, me ol' duck )

Makes Richard  Turpin's exploits seem positively generous .

It's a trap that springs open surprisingly fast.

One minute you've a full house of visitors and pop to the local shop to get milk...

The next you're Billy no mates & nearest shop is a bus ride away.

But hey, we don't need people, local businesses or money in our pockets.

We got planters for BBQ's..yippee.

'mutter mutter mutter'..puts soapbox away..... :(

Winner for the fbg but hug for the potential fines. No fines for wrong turnings here just heavily armed military police unlikely to bother about asking why and farmers who may mistake a car for a dangerous wild animal. To be fair to the farmers anything from diesel to slurry can and has been rustled.

No fines my end, so all good

but it is all 20mph on most main roads in London, and others are average speed checked so only a few bad boys drive fast .

Throw in cameras everywhere watching us, you can see why councils love us motorists so much.

Many likely to collapse if we all stopped driving...

Which seems to be the overall plan

Impoverish the many, and then the MPs zil lanes, seem like a great idea, that's overdue it's moment in the sunshine

Enjoy the joy of driving .

The end is nigh.

This has been going on for years in LIverpool. More than half a century. Not the fines, but bollards and planters restricting where you could go, making all these little or large 'pockets' of houses with only one way in and one way out. It caused congestion and queues to get into the main arterial roads. This started in the 1970's. And I remember thinking then that this severely restricts the emergency services.

I had this desire then to do something to those planters...

Pity it's only one way.

Still, knowing you can cause & death and get diplomatic immunity, and whisked out of the country, even if your not a diplomat, is a nice little perk.

Special relationship, they say...mmhh.
