@Pipp My understanding is that people like me who are neither injecting insulin nor taking a med to make the pancreas produce more of it are very unlikely to hypo. Put that together with the fact that during my brief Libre experiment, the Libre read about 1mmol/L lower than my meter, and I could sleep easy. I believed my meter rather than the Libre, because my A1c tests show 38 / 39, which is higher than is predicted even by my meter readings either fasting or during the day.Do you ever check your fasting levels, now, @Alexandra100 ?
Why do you think your libre would give an incorrect analysis of low readings?
Apologies if this is derailing, mods. Just very curious, and seeking clarification.
Guys i just searched the correlation between Mg and BG levels and to my surprise my data was pointing me correctly....wonder if there is any correlation.
It's very unlikwly to get hit by lightning more than once but it happens. I have had blood sugars as low as 2.2 I neither inject insulin nor do I take blood sugar lowering medications it happens on the rare occation.@Pipp My understanding is that people like me who are neither injecting insulin nor taking a med to make the pancreas produce more of it are very unlikely to hypo. I do check my fasting levels. During January they have been good (for me) with 5.8 the highest and 4.3 the lowest. (Both one-offs.) However I'm not sure if they count, as I usually test, still fasting. about 2 hours after getting up.
End of excursion!

Guess it is pretty important to keep our Mg levels in good zone. Hope this will help some here.
@nutribolt I am wondering if my low back pain in itself raises my bg. What with a good quality magnesium supplement twice daily and eating foods high in magnesium (dark chocolate, avocados, nuts, flaxseeds, salmon) I don't think I can be lacking.Overnight average is quite high though at 8.4. I have not eaten any high carbs as such but there is a dull feeling of backache still lingering so maybe low stock of Mg is the culprit
That is very likely as inflammation of any kind tends to increase BG from what I have read and experienced. But much like anything else with our bodies, pains and aches are indicators of an underlying issue rather than the issue itself. These are like the error codes on a software but sadly they are not uniquely captured and mapped to specific bug and so we are left guessing what could have triggered it. My trial and error with Mg and its impact on my BG trends since day before seems to point finger at Mg but for you it might be completely different issue altogether. This is why I think a CGM or libre trend in my view is so very helpful in decoding the mystery of bizarre numbers in our body.low back pain in itself raises my bg.
Or brewing an infection perhaps...? My shoulders always ache the day before I get a cold7.1 at 6AM.

Have a great day all.
