What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Do you ever check your fasting levels, now, @Alexandra100 ?
Why do you think your libre would give an incorrect analysis of low readings?

Apologies if this is derailing, mods. Just very curious, and seeking clarification.:)
@Pipp My understanding is that people like me who are neither injecting insulin nor taking a med to make the pancreas produce more of it are very unlikely to hypo. Put that together with the fact that during my brief Libre experiment, the Libre read about 1mmol/L lower than my meter, and I could sleep easy. I believed my meter rather than the Libre, because my A1c tests show 38 / 39, which is higher than is predicted even by my meter readings either fasting or during the day.
I do check my fasting levels. During January they have been good (for me) with 5.8 the highest and 4.3 the lowest. (Both one-offs.) However I'm not sure if they count, as I usually test, still fasting. about 2 hours after getting up.
End of excursion!

Back on the topic.. A glorious 12.7. :banghead:
I can pretty much blame that on lowering my basal last night. Been "captain hypo" most the week..

It's very unlikwly to get hit by lightning more than once but it happens. I have had blood sugars as low as 2.2 I neither inject insulin nor do I take blood sugar lowering medications it happens on the rare occation.

7.4 - Ahah… EndoSys just reminding me.

Sleepy Sunday? Repotted my African Violet in fresh compo, and off to the Recycling Green Station tomorrow. Oh joy….

Guys i just searched the correlation between Mg and BG levels and to my surprise my data was pointing me correctly....

Guess it is pretty important to keep our Mg levels in good zone. Hope this will help some here.

I saw a Dr Ken Berry video on YouTube a while back talking about Magnesium. I started taking supplements after that on the grounds that it almost certainly won't hurt and might help. It wasn't something that had crossed my radar before. I think I've noticed some positive effects (beyond the scope of this thread), but that could equally well be placebo or wishful thinking.

4.2 today. Taking magnesium helped with muscle cramps and twiches i have had for a long time. Also helped with constipation and sleep. Have a nice sunday everybody :)

Morning. Jan 30th? 5.3 on Tee 2 2015, 4.8 T2 in 2019 and 2020. 4.8 via Swipey in 2021... Magnesium? I don't supplement but may be doing something right according to this. Hit my target 7 hrs+ sleep and >85 sleep Fitbit score so on we go. Enjoy #recyclingate @Estragon and yay for 100% in range @DEBBIESCOTT

Morning All. After a terrible night’s sleep stressing about stuff I turned in a high 7 today so things can only get better. Happy Sunday everyone.

7.1 at 6AM.

Overnight average is quite high though at 8.4. I have not eaten any high carbs as such but there is a dull feeling of backache still lingering so maybe low stock of Mg is the culprit. We shall see.

Have a great day all. :)

@nutribolt I am wondering if my low back pain in itself raises my bg. What with a good quality magnesium supplement twice daily and eating foods high in magnesium (dark chocolate, avocados, nuts, flaxseeds, salmon) I don't think I can be lacking.

Well? It ain't no worse than yesterday.
2 independanly calibrated receivers concur with the meter. 8.4.

Keep it topical.. & if you can't... Find one that is, or by all means start yer own.. :)

That is very likely as inflammation of any kind tends to increase BG from what I have read and experienced. But much like anything else with our bodies, pains and aches are indicators of an underlying issue rather than the issue itself. These are like the error codes on a software but sadly they are not uniquely captured and mapped to specific bug and so we are left guessing what could have triggered it. My trial and error with Mg and its impact on my BG trends since day before seems to point finger at Mg but for you it might be completely different issue altogether. This is why I think a CGM or libre trend in my view is so very helpful in decoding the mystery of bizarre numbers in our body.

Or brewing an infection perhaps...? My shoulders always ache the day before I get a cold
